I've been going through life for the last seven years with an undercurrent of anger, and dare I say it, bitterness, as I watch everything I thought this country stands for being sold out from under us to contractors, oil companies, telecommunications conglomerates, and the lust for power and money that fuels Washington. The worst of it is for a long time, I wondered if I was the only one who felt this way. Was I the only one who thought that what we were giving up in the name of feeling secure was not worth it if we were no longer American. Listening to John McCain and Phil Gramm tell us that the economy is GREAT and that we're whiners is just about all I can take. There's really nothing I can say that will make me feel better about this. Barack Obama did a pretty good job poking a big hole in their meme. But I came across this song and I think it speaks for many Americans far better than John McCain ever could.
