.. and Bush is so out of touch he is still pushing for drilling in Alaska daily !! Alaska Scandal: More to Come?
Alaska's Sole Congressman Also Reportedly Under InvestigationBy EMMA SCHWARTZ and JUSTIN ROODJuly 30, 2008 Sen. Ted Stevens (R-AK) isn't the only U.S. lawmaker whose fortunes are likely threatened by his ties to an obscure oil services company known as Veco.
http://www.abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=5479544&page=1
Republican Don Young, Alaska's only congressman, has reportedly been under investigation for his ties to the company, as well.
According to "The Wall Street Journal", which broke the news of the Young investigation a year ago, prosecutors have reportedly been looking at whether Young took bribes, illegal gratuities or unreported gifts from Veco.
Young, who has met with Justice Department lawyers and has reported spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees, has declined to comment on the investigation. Michael Anderson,
a spokesman for Young's re-election campaign, said Tuesday the congressman was not aware of any new developments in the investigations into him, "but it's not inherent on the Department of Justice to keep
us informed. . . about [its] progress or the lack of progress."
Justice Department spokeswoman Laura Sweeney declined to comment, noting that "we have not confirmed or denied any such investigation."
On Tuesday a federal grand jury charged Stevens with failing to report gifts from Veco, including cars and free labor for a home in Girdwood, Alaska the senator called "the chalet."
WATCH: Stevens Indicted for Alleged False Statements >>>> http://www.abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=5473830
While prosecutors alleged that Stevens took actions to benefit Veco, he has not be charged with bribery. Federal investigators already have a number of cooperators.
Among them are, Veco's former chairman, Bill Allen, who pleaded guilty to bribing at least four Alaska legislators.
Another former company vice president, Rick Smith, who once fundraised for Young, is also cooperating with investigators, according to the Associated Press, and has reportedly allowed the FBI to tape conversations
he had with Young. Contacts with Veco, however, are not Young's only concern.
Federal investigators are also reportedly looking into Young's efforts to earmark $10 million to build an interchange on a Florida highway known as the Coconut Road, and campaign contributions from a developer
who stood to benefit from the interchange. Young's lawyer, John Dowd, has said he has advised Young not to discuss the matter.
Dowd could not be reached for comment. A former Young staffer, Mark Zachares, pled guilty last year in connection to his ties to now-convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
According to the terms of his plea agreement, Zachares and his wife are cooperating with investigators.

Dare we start talking about the "REAL" Dream Ticket yet?? or would that be jinxing it!
I for one am not meaning Obama - Clinton by the way ;) but man would I like to ..heck LOVE TO see the Dream ticket of OBAMA - EDWARDS !! Talk about keeping it "real"!
But, not to be go blind into anything I would like to get some feedback from others as to how you might feel about such a possibly "perfect union" so to speak.

Can anyone please help shed some light for me as to why the mention of or at least acknowledgment of the Palestinians and their 60 year possible unresolved refugee and plighted conditions seems to be repetitively missing from this campaigns very articulate discussions?
I am not even asking why there might not be sympathy mind you but just a balanced discussion on this very real and difficult long standing international condition that has lead to such devastating sadness and loss on all sides effected for so tragically long a time.
In the below article appearing in a Israeli Newspaper by Barack there is true a mention of the United States needing to act as a true friend to Israel and double its efforts to try and accomplish a peace between Israel and its Arab neighbors, which I commend and agree with...but I was surprised to not see any mention of the word Palestinian or even the Palestinian Authority.
The first step towards true peace is to accomplish it between those who need it most via a 2 state solution, those being the Semitic Palestine and Israeli people...Arab neighbors shouldn't be the first concern if we are truly serious about long lasting peace and we should by example of our seriousness and resolve then firmly demand that same seriousness and resolve to settle for nothing less from our friends in the region.
On many occasions I have heard Barack say that one of the things that makes this movement and this campaign different is that it stand for total honesty and instead of only telling the American people what they WANT to hear we will tell them what they NEED to hear..the truth in its entirety will after all set you free including in the case of the Palestinian Israeli human tragedy.
Talk about an incredible opportunity to show real original leadership..
PEACE . SHALOM . SALAAM

At 60, Israel Has Much to CelebrateYediot Ahronot | May 07, 2008
By Barack Obama
As the festivities surrounding Israel’s 60th anniversary get underway, Israelis can be forgiven if they don’t feel in an entirely celebratory mood. With terrorism and rockets from Gaza, a serious threat posed by Iran’s nuclear ambitions, hostages held by Hamas, and too many of its neighbors playing tired old games rather than working toward peace and security, Israel can at times feel like a nation facing enormous challenges.
It is, but is also much more than that. It is precisely at this moment that, despite the challenges, Israelis should take stock of what they have built, and their hearts should swell with pride. And it is also at this moment that Israel’s friends around the world should raise their voices in a chorus of support. Because Israel has more than just friends -- it also has legions of admirers. I am proud to be one, and I know that millions of Americans join me in saluting the State of Israel and its vast array of achievements over these past 60 years.
From building one of the world’s most vibrant democracies, to agricultural advances, biomedical breakthroughs, and strides in immigrant absorption; to creating a powerhouse economy, a world-class military and vibrant cultural and literary scenes, Israel has not only made enormous leaps for its own citizens, but it has lived up to its founders’ vision of being a "light unto the nations." The problems and challenges are real, and should not be brushed aside. But they do not obscure the truly remarkable story of Israel and its astonishing accomplishments over such a relatively brief period.
"In Israel," said David Ben-Gurion over a half-century ago, "in order to be a realist you must believe in miracles." The fact that your great strides have taken place against the backdrop of so many external threats is one of the reasons Americans hold Israel in such awe and with such reverence. Israel's achievements have not come without sacrifices. But when possible, the United States has tried to lessen the burden, especially in terms of defense cooperation, trade and economic assistance.
The 60th anniversary is also an ideal time to celebrate this special relationship between our two countries. Washington and Jerusalem not only share ideals and values, but we share common interests. The bond between Americans and Israelis remains unshakable. It is a tie that every American president (whether Democrat or Republican) has and will continue to uphold.
Our unique relationship rests on a deep reservoir of friendship and support that crosses political divides. It permits us to work together in many ways, from bilateral cooperation on counter-terrorism, to joint military exercises with other regional allies, to science and technology collaboration. As president, I would further deepen our already strong bilateral ties, particularly in the areas of defense, science and energy.
Still, there is no greater gift America can give to Israel--no better way we can salute our Israeli friends on this important anniversary -- than to redouble our commitment to help Israel achieve its goal of true security through lasting peace with its neighbors. The United States does Israel no favors when it neglects opportunities for progress in Arab-Israeli peacemaking.
Israelis can always count on the United States to stand with them against any threat, from as close as Gaza or as far as Tehran, and to ensure that Israel has the means to defend itself. Israel has real enemies, and we will face them together. But standing with Israel also requires America to do everything it can to reduce and ease the conflict with the Arab neighbors. To do any less would be to prevent Israel from achieving its full, extraordinary potential.
Israelis have much to be proud of as they approach this anniversary, and they should know that their friends and admirers in the United States are eager to preserve and expand upon our unique relationship with the Jewish state. May the next 60 years bring Israel continued growth, increased prosperity, genuine security, and the gift of an Israel at peace to pass on to the next generation of Israelis.
ATTENTION: HILLARY DID NOT WIN PA BY 10!! The numbers below from PA state department show she only WON BY 8. Perception matters and facts are facts. Let's hold the media accountable to report the truth. Please send emails and flood the phone lines of CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, and why not FOX. She did not pull off a double digit win meaning Barack Obama did break into her base supporters: whites, blue collar workers, and over 60 voters. Let's get to work troops! MSM is still reporting the numbers at 45/55. The link to the PA State Dept. results is provided below.

Did anyone else feel that Hillary’s speeches are starting to sound like diluted Obama speeches???
I mean she even steals his Slogan of “YES WE CAN” and changes it to “YES WE WILL” !!
The woman not only has no shame she also has not her own message…so much for “ I have found my own voice”!
The ironic thing is here is what the definitions of “WILL” verses “CAN” are ( please note the Etymology line at the bottom of each definition!! WILL = Wish while CAN = Ability!!:
will¹ Definition will (wil) noun1.
the power of making a reasoned choice or decision or of controlling one's own actions a man of weak will
2. a. strong and fixed purpose; determination where there's a will there's a way
b. energy and enthusiasm to work with a will
3. disposition or attitude toward others a man of good will
4. a. the particular desire, purpose, pleasure, choice, etc. of a certain person or group what is your will?
b. a compelling command or decree the will of the people
5. Law
a. the legal statement of a person's wishes concerning the disposal of his or her property after death
b. the document containing this
Etymology: ME wille < OE willa, akin to Ger wille, willen < IE base *wel-, to wish, choose > L velle, to wish, voluptas, pleasure
can¹ Definition can (kan; unstressed, kən)
could
1. know(s) how to
2. am, are, or is able to
3. am, are, or is likely or at all likely to can that be true?
4. have or has the moral or legal right to
5. Informal am, are, or is permitted to; may
Etymology: ME < OE, 1st & 3d pers. sing., pres. indic., of cunnan, know, have power to, be able; common Gmc < IE base *gen-, *gno- > L gnoscere, know; orig. meaning “to be able mentally or spiritually,” as distinguished from may, “to be able physically”
intransitive verb
1. know(s) how
2. am, are, or is able yes I can
3. am, are, or is likely or at all likely
4. have or has the moral or legal right
5. Informal am, are, or is permitted; maytransitive verb
Obsolete know(s)
Usage Note traditional grammar makes a clear distinction between can (for ability) and may (for permission), the classic example being the retort, “Yes, you can go, but you may not”; in everyday speech and writing, however, can is generally accepted for both meanings, with may being used only when the notion of permission is important to the sense of an utterance and there is a possibility of ambiguity
So in the hurry to win at any cost the Clinton machine doesn’t even stop long enough to check the facts of something as simple as a definition of a word!
Reminds me of someone not checking the facts for themselves before voting on approving a certain other 3 letter word … “WAR”.
Amazing sense of entitlement and sloppy…real characteristics I am looking for in a President!! “NOT” !!
Hi all :)
I wanted to offer free art work for a PA specific make your own T-shirt Iron on transfer I had made a while back incase you wanted to make one for tomorrow's primary watch. Here is some instructions about how to make the t-shirt. This link shows you sort of how it’s done in part:
http://www.live.avery.webcollage.net/server/samsclub/avery-product-content/httpb?ws-action=http://www.live.avery.webcollage.net/_wc/product-content/demo-tshirt-transfers/3271.html?channel-product-id%3d108497%26popup-first-page%26showtabs%3dtrue%26format%3dpopup%26is-in-showcase%3dfalse~&ws-containerurl=http://www.dummy-container-url.com&channel-product-id=108497&wcpc=3271&showtabs=&format=&type=&MarkupType=document&PresentationFormat=html
..all you need to do is save it to your desk top and then print them out on T-shirt transfer paper ( you can find this at any local Staples or Office Depot etc…) then follow the instructions inside the transfer paper packet in how to iron the printed image onto a white t-shirt.
And yes the images I will send you are “flipped” for a reason so that when you iron them on the t-shirt they look right to the person looking at the wearer. If you have any other question let me know?? You can see the Art work and some of the other Obama inspired designs on my new Cafepress.com store front >>> http://www.cafepress.com/raads
(Note: I had to modify the official logo inorder to be able to post them designs on Cafepress..and given the recent Obama Bashing by the media about a lapel flag I felt a little stars and waving stripes were timely :) )
Thank you for your support & ! Gobama go !tomorrow!

Monday, April 21st, 2008My Vote's for Obama (if I could vote) ...by Michael Moore
Friends,
I don't get to vote for President this primary season. I live in Michigan. The party leaders (both here and in D.C.) couldn't get their act together, and thus our votes will not be counted.
So, if you live in Pennsylvania, can you do me a favor? Will you please cast my vote -- and yours -- on Tuesday for Senator Barack Obama?
I haven't spoken publicly 'til now as to who I would vote for, primarily for two reasons: 1) Who cares?; and 2) I (and most people I know) don't give a rat's ass whose name is on the ballot in November, as long as there's a picture of JFK and FDR riding a donkey at the top of the ballot, and the word "Democratic" next to the candidate's name.
Seriously, I know so many people who don't care if the name under the Big "D" is Dancer, Prancer, Clinton or Blitzen. It can be Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Barry Obama or the Dalai Lama.
Well, that sounded good last year, but over the past two months, the actions and words of Hillary Clinton have gone from being merely disappointing to downright disgusting. I guess the debate last week was the final straw. I've watched Senator Clinton and her husband play this game of appealing to the worst side of white people, but last Wednesday, when she hurled the name "Farrakhan" out of nowhere, well that's when the silly season came to an early end for me. She said the "F" word to scare white people, pure and simple. Of course, Obama has no connection to Farrakhan. But, according to Senator Clinton, Obama's pastor does -- AND the "church bulletin" once included a Los Angeles Times op-ed from some guy with Hamas! No, not the church bulletin!
This sleazy attempt to smear Obama was brilliantly explained the following night by Stephen Colbert. He pointed out that if Obama is supported by Ted Kennedy, who is Catholic, and the Catholic Church is led by a Pope who was in the Hitler Youth, that can mean only one thing: OBAMA LOVES HITLER!
Yes, Senator Clinton, that's how you sounded. Like you were nuts. Like you were a bigot stoking the fires of stupidity. How sad that I would ever have to write those words about you. You have devoted your life to good causes and good deeds. And now to throw it all away for an office you can't win unless you smear the black man so much that the superdelegates cry "Uncle (Tom)" and give it all to you.
But that can't happen. You cast your die when you voted to start this bloody war. When you did that you were like Moses who lost it for a moment and, because of that, was prohibited from entering the Promised Land.
How sad for a country that wanted to see the first woman elected to the White House. That day will come -- but it won't be you. We'll have to wait for the current Democratic governor of Kansas to run in 2016 (you read it here first!).
There are those who say Obama isn't ready, or he's voted wrong on this or that. But that's looking at the trees and not the forest. What we are witnessing is not just a candidate but a profound, massive public movement for change. My endorsement is more for Obama The Movement than it is for Obama the candidate.
That is not to take anything away from this exceptional man. But what's going on is bigger than him at this point, and that's a good thing for the country. Because, when he wins in November, that Obama Movement is going to have to stay alert and active. Corporate America is not going to give up their hold on our government just because we say so. President Obama is going to need a nation of millions to stand behind him.
I know some of you will say, 'Mike, what have the Democrats done to deserve our vote?' That's a damn good question. In November of '06, the country loudly sent a message that we wanted the war to end. Yet the Democrats have done nothing. So why should we be so eager to line up happily behind them?
I'll tell you why. Because I can't stand one more friggin' minute of this administration and the permanent, irreversible damage it has done to our people and to this world. I'm almost at the point where I don't care if the Democrats don't have a backbone or a kneebone or a thought in their dizzy little heads. Just as long as their name ain't "Bush" and the word "Republican" is not beside theirs on the ballot, then that's good enough for me.
I, like the majority of Americans, have been pummeled senseless for 8 long years. That's why I will join millions of citizens and stagger into the voting booth come November, like a boxer in the 12th round, all bloodied and bruised with one eye swollen shut, looking for the only thing that matters -- that big "D" on the ballot.
Don't get me wrong. I lost my rose-colored glasses a long time ago.
It's foolish to see the Democrats as anything but a nicer version of a party that exists to do the bidding of the corporate elite in this country. Any endorsement of a Democrat must be done with this acknowledgement and a hope that one day we will have a party that'll represent the people first, and laws that allow that party an equal voice.
Finally, I want to say a word about the basic decency I have seen in Mr. Obama. Mrs. Clinton continues to throw the Rev. Wright up in his face as part of her mission to keep stoking the fears of White America. Every time she does this I shout at the TV, "Say it, Obama! Say that when she and her husband were having marital difficulties regarding Monica Lewinsky, who did she and Bill bring to the White House for 'spiritual counseling?' THE REVEREND JEREMIAH WRIGHT!"
But no, Obama won't throw that at her. It wouldn't be right. It wouldn't be decent. She's been through enough hurt. And so he remains silent and takes the mud she throws in his face.
That's why the crowds who come to see him are so large. That's why he'll take us down a more decent path. That's why I would vote for him if Michigan were allowed to have an election.
But the question I keep hearing is... 'can he win? Can he win in November?' In the distance we hear the siren of the death train called the Straight Talk Express. We know it's possible to hear the words "President McCain" on January 20th. We know there are still many Americans who will never vote for a black man. Hillary knows it, too. She's counting on it.
Pennsylvania, the state that gave birth to this great country, has a chance to set things right. It has not had a moment to shine like this since 1787 when our Constitution was written there. In that Constitution, they wrote that a black man or woman was only "three fifths" human. On Tuesday, the good people of Pennsylvania have a chance for redemption.
Yours,Michael MooreMichaelMoore.comMMFlint@aol.com

Good Morning All!
As some of you might know I have had requests from over 200 individuals so far in the last 10 days from all over the country and from Texas, Pennsylvania and even from as far as Paris, France!! for "make your own" Support T-shirt transfers to Iron-on designs I had. To date I have 13 designs and as inspiration hits me more seem to get designed!
Many of you may have maybe seen the free "make your own" t-shirt designs I have sent out in support of the recent national wear your t-shirt in support of Barack Obama days…ever since I was listed on the e-mail blast from Obama HQ originally announcing it.
( NOTE: These are for personal use only and not for commercial production or sale without prior approval in writing.)
I personally am committed to changing the political process by helping in the building of a campaign based on broad grass roots support from ordinary Americans and have for a while now been toying with a new idea to use them and possibly accomplish a few more things in the process and have come up with the following idea in the spirit of the true Grass Roots nature of Obama’s campaign and the recent dialogue about community service outreach by Obama supporters in their different and diverse communities across the country.
The Idea is this:
I propose to others and plan to hold in my corner of South Orange County California a “ Iron-On for Obama ‘ 08 “ Fundraiser! During which I will be providing free of charge transfer/iron on designs of my 13 images for people to come and make their own t-shirts! I will suggest that they might consider a donation to the Obama’08 Campaign and collect whatever is donated and send it on to Obama HQ. I plan to contract some local t-shirt shops in my area and see if they would like to donate blank/plain white t-shirts in different sizes towards the event and effort.
I am visualizing holding this fundraiser event before the Mississippi primary since I am hoping that some of the participants might iron on t-shirts that can be sent to the Mississippi Obama offices to be distributed as they see fit to people in areas impacted by Katarina as a gesture of cross country support and good will. As to the location where this is to be held here locally that will depend on what response and interest in participating I get from people. If the numbers are small it can be held in driveways or garages and if the interest is large a more accommodating location can be decided on later.
Cant’ you just imagine a few rows of ironing boards lined up with people wearing Obama t-shirts ironing t-shirts all together!! What a interesting and different Photo opportunity!! .. and ladies if you can get all the guys behind those ironing boards and claim that Obama support has even gotten us guys to lift an iron for a change..I think that would be just icing on the cake!..yes I am kidding and do know how to iron and even saw for the record!
I have even designed a logo for this event and you can see it as my profile picture at >> http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/blog/raadghantous
Thank you for your support!

All, So we were tested yesterday and while we did not lose delegates we still have to also accept the reality of the fact that we didn't win the big states and in that we did loss the luster of invincibility and we realize now that what we need to do is work even harder at getting OUR message out is all..
It isn’t over by any stretch, and I find it interesting that in the wake of a victory that is supposedly so earth shattering that HRC and her campaign are already focused on the need to get Florida and Michigan counted, even if it takes a legal battle! ( anyone hear the echo of the Florida vote count in Bush v.s. Gore!)
Also they are already floating the possibility of a Clinton Obama ticket! Does that sound like the talk from a side that is CONFIDENT with their wins last night??
Don’t get me wrong to underestimate HRC or even how the GOP would and will spin this and play off this possible crack in the Democratic party lines would be a fatal mistake that will cost us not just the nomination of Obama but possibly also the possible loss of the White House come November ..and that plus the lack of long term vision for the party that a pitting of HRC against McCain ( only something the GOP has been training and preparing for for over a decade!) would in my opinion not be good for the survival of the Democratic Party and would be business as usual for the country!
We honestly believe that the GOP will work with HRC if she was in the Oval office? Okay assume they would then ask your selves why would they? And what would she need to do to get them to allow her to rebuild the Clinton Legacy especially when their recent at that point 2 term president’s legacy is in tatters!
Things to think about definitely…
What we need to do is make it unquestionable by highlighting first then overwhelming at every occasion the talents, skills and capabilities of Obama..and not spend energy and $$ tearing her down..she will do that herself as the pressure builds.
Oh yeah and let’s not forget how “not experienced in foreign policy and security” Bill Clinton was…how does HRC’s campaign explain why the country should have still and did vote her husband into office twice!..the parallels are a bit uncanny no?
Obama referred to HRC as being “Tenacious” well I guess we just need to get more “Relentless” is all…after all we already have the “Audacity of Hope” covered! ;)
p.s. I have a new t-shirt design that says “the audacity of hope! – Obama’08” so if you would like the art work for that t-shirt transfer contact me directly at raadg@mindspring.com
"Every great dream begins with a dreamer.Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patiance, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world."
- Harriet Tubman (American, escaped slave, civil war soldier, humanitarian and abolitionist, 1820-1913)
Something to remember when on the tail of the Ohio win for Clinton some might feel stronger in renewing their attacks about how words of such things as "change' and "hope" and "vision" are empty and only good for speeches, where actions alone speak louder in their opinions.
With all do respct as a creative person I will say this.. I know that without the power of vision and the possibility of hope nothing in the history of humainty that proved to be longlasting ever was! ..and I for one would prefer the ability to dream be it daydream..rather than the probability of the nightmares that usually arise from a lack of vision!...after all have we not had the living example of that sort of policy for the better part of the last 8 years!
