Irritated with HUGE inconsistancies in Tobacco taxes...
I dont mind paying my SHARE of sin taxes, so-called, CHIP etc.
I DO however, mind paying 600% MORE than others in the tobacco using cohort!

Cigarettes were to go up about 60 cents per pack under new taxing. They went up about 3X that,
or -/+ $1.59 US.
Similar increases in cigars, chewed tobacco and 'snuff' were noted.
A typical Pack in my state is now about 5$ compared to 3.40 or so before. No biggie.
But i smoke LOOSE tobacco--"Roll your Own"
I USED to pay 8.00$ US for a 6oz. bag before the tax increase.
IT NOW COSTS 36-42 $ US for that same bag!
That is a ridiculous amount of increase, and a bold faced lie about the tax on the part of government. IF govt wants to be able to levy extra taxes in time of such NEED---then in really behoves them to take ALL manner of ways to keep said taxes both level headed and equal.
Kids don't use loose tobacco--only old farts and bums. So raising it above the clouds serves no purpose except to cause bums to harass u panhandling 400% more, and old folks using any spare money for tobacco instead of other needed items.
And YES, we could quit..but we wont.
