Help Blake meet his goal!In his own words:
I have been traveling state to state with this campaign since November. So far I've been to New Hampshire, South Carolina, Georgia, Texas, heading up to Pennsylvania, with hopes of campaigning in Oregon and Montana. I am your typical, starving college student. I have little money. And so I hope with your help to be able to raise an amazing goal. One hundred thousand dollars. At any other time in my life I would've thought it to be impossible for me, as an 18 year old, to raise that much money for something. But I've seen the way this campaign works and inspires. Help me reach this goal by donating what ever amount you can.Can you help him reach his goal of $100,000?!http://my.barackobama.com/page/outreach/view/main/100000ForBarack
A critic on the senator's cozy ties to the press corps.
This week the New York Times made news with a front-page story on John McCain's relationship with a telecommunications lobbyist. The story hinted at a possible romantic entanglement and raised questions about the propriety of McCain's dealings with the lobbyist and her clients at a time when the Arizona lawmaker was chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee. The story, which McCain's campaign has vigorously disputed, marked a rare incidence of bad press for a politician who has enjoyed a remarkably amicable relationship with the establishment media over the course of his 25-year career. Other than a flurry of critical stories surrounding his involvement in a savings-and-loan scandal in the late 1980s, McCain has enjoyed such positive coverage he sometimes jokingly refers to the press as his base.
Other than arguing that we should stay in Iraq. Right, other than to stay in Iraq. But that's it. That's really all we know. The Democrats have complex policy issues laid out on their Web sites, but no one's seriously arguing that McCain's been tremendously substantive.

The past often comes back to bite us.
Oct. 18, 1999 | PHOENIX -- GOP presidential candidate John McCain's wife Cindy took to the airwaves last week, recounting for Jane Pauley (on "Dateline") and Diane Sawyer (on "Good Morning America") the tale of her onetime addiction to Percocet and Vicodin, and the fact that she stole the drugs from her own nonprofit medical relief organization.
It was a brave and obviously painful thing to do.
It was also vintage McCain media manipulation.

Is this the kind of security for our future president?
DALLAS -- Security details at Barack Obama's rally Wednesday stopped screening people for weapons at the front gates more than an hour before the Democratic presidential candidate took the stage at Reunion Arena.
The order to put down the metal detectors and stop checking purses and laptop bags came as a surprise to several Dallas police officers who said they believed it was a lapse in security.

These events are sad and tragic. Obama inspires us young people. Perhaps he can inspire youths to not take their anger on others and instead turn the anger into service.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Michael Ortiz, 202 228 5566 WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) today released the following statement on the shooting at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois: "Michelle and I were heartbroken to learn about the terrible tragedy that occurred in DeKalb today, and our thoughts and our prayers are with the victims and their families. While the full details are still unclear, what is clear is that this kind of senseless violence must stop, and all of us have a responsibility to do what we can to stop it."

Slogan for March 4th "March Forth Together" what do we think of it?
While I was reading the comments written after an article in MSNBC I noticed a few things about the Clinton supporters there. The posts were short and filled with interesting accusations.
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/02/12/657451.aspx
-He has ties to extremist muslims.
-People vote for him because of his race.
-He has no substance.
The accusations they make are baseless, groundless, and a disgrace to what it means to be an informed voter.
Why is it that the Obama supporters have respect for the Clintons as they have accomplished much. They do have experience. They have their merits, but we CHOOSE Obama not just because he speaks pretty but because he has these merits in abundance and isn't mired in the politics of the past. He's articulate, he unites, he is inspirational. HE IS ALSO FULL OF SUBSTANCE. I wonder how many of these people have read over his policy proposals. Have they even read Hillary's? I refuse to step into a decision for the President without exposing myself to both. I will read literature which both produce. In the end, my choice is STILL Obama.
In the end I answer my own question. We respect them since they are humans. They have the right to their opinions. They are a part of the electorate. In order to unite we can't shun the other side. I still take issue with their refusal to find out more and simply repeat any tall tale and or false characterization circulated by the Clintons or perhaps merely their advisors.
Why Caroline Backed Obama
Her kids, her uncle, her father—and Obama's father—all played a role.

Some supporters of Barack Obama, stung by his narrow loss to Hillary Clinton, are lashing out at a large group of Democratic women leaders in the state who signed a letter criticizing Obama's commitment to abortion rights, a letter that went out by e-mail to many New Hampshire voters two days before the primary.
Other Obama backers are upset about efforts by top Clinton supporters to remove poll observers that the Obama campaign had stationed around the state on primary day, an intervention that the Obama supporters say hindered their get out the vote efforts.

Some time ago, before Obama began his bid for presidency I joined an organization by the name of 80-20 http://www.80-20initiative.net which is a group attempting to bring about more equality for Asian Americans. We've known for years about the glass ceiling which accompanies being an Asian American, and we wish to break this ceiling.
Obama hasn't and will not sign the agreement to help Asian Americans break the glass ceiling
http://www.80-20initiative.net/news/preselect2008_questionnaire.asp
The call to action from 80-20 has been to not vote for him
I am not sure what to do.
