As this is my first blog on this site, I would like to introduce myself to the community.
I first became actively engaged in politics in 04', supporting Wes Clark in his campaign for the Presidency. The things that impressed me most about Clark were many of the things that impress me about Obama. It I could narrow it down to one word it would be this: character, not politics.
Character is what matters most. We need leaders who have honesty, integrity, and vision. And we need independence from the tired old divisive politics of the past. These were reasons why Clark was so inspiring to me in 04'. It is this same qualities that have inspired me to support Obama this time around. It's time for a change. We needed the change in 04', but got the establishment candidate. It's critical we not make the same mistake again. The historical moment is on our side, and it's up to us to make it happen.
