Am a first time voter in 2008

Got HOPE, volunteered and donated in haste

Now here comes Palin

On the news her speech is blaring

Obama WILL WIN and I still have faith

My Voter Registration Effort

I have identified some goals this summer to help Obama's campaign:

1. Give my hubby some tips when he is trying to sell or defend Obama to his friends & family. At the last couple of family parties, he was 'lectured' by an uncle and 2 cousins on why he shouldn't vote for Obama. My husband said that he was so unprepared and wasn't able to defend his position.

So I printed a tip sheet on how he should respond to such attacks by his Republican relatives. He said he will be prepared for our next family party.

2. My husband and I will become Deputy Registrars so we are able to register our relatives to vote. He has a huge family who lives in the same area. He has several cousins who have never voted and a few who just turned 18.

3. I'm going to print a list of names that my husband and I will try to convince to register to vote. He is going to work on his cousins & friends, while I am going to focus on my employees.

4. I'm going to organize a family get-together on the day of the election. I think this will be the first ever for us. We usually get together in a massive group to go out to the movies. (My husband and I are the ones who get the dirty looks in the theatre because we are the unoffical seat savers). I'm sure that everyone will be thrilled by this idea. They may not all be Obama supporters today, but I have a feeling that if there's enough of us wearing our Obama gear, we may be able to change their minds.

Pennsylvania Primary

After feeling let-down by the PA result last Tuesday, I have HOPE again for two reasons.

First, I received my HOPE bumper sticker which I won through Ebay. I am going to tape it from the interior of my rear windshield to protect it from the rain. It would also prevent people from tampering with it.

Secondly, I was visiting my parents and I was trying to convince my Dad that Obama is an electable candidate. At first he brought up his race and how the PA loss hurt him. I quickly responded that this kind of information he was hearing was coming from the Clinton campaign & that they were very effective in spreading this distortion. (When I arrived at my parent's house, Faux news was blaring from the t.v.)

I also told him about the Clintons' history of taking money from lobbyists and how that translates to corporations being able to position themselves at a great economic advantage while the average American gets shafted.

I also spoke about the MSM being misleading. He agreed with me that they are very powerful in delivering subtle psychological messages and that he himself is critical of their information.

I also was able to bring up the following: Peter Paul trial, Hillary's support of NAFTA, intimidation of the women who've accused Bill, the slew of former employees receiving jail time.

We were also discussing the compassion forum. My dad was really impressed by Obama's answers. In the end, my Dad stated that Obama will be good for our country!

So please don't let the MSM discourage you. At the moment, the Clinton campaign is very effective about spreading negative messages about his electability. Every time you are encountered with these types of messages, you must remember that this is all coming from her campaign and that it is NOT A FACT.

Barack is a very electable candidate. We will do very well in the Fall because of the increase in democratic voters. Obama will find a way to unite the party. He will also find a way to take down the Republicans, but he needs our help!
