Senator Biden is being told, from what I hear on the radio and TV, to lay back and not appear to be overly agressive against Sarah Palin at the debate tomorrow night.I COMPLETELY DISAGREE.A debate is much like a sporting event where opponents have strengths, and weaknesses. In Sarah Palin's case, I believe she has shown the American audience that she has several key weaknesses, in fact a lot of them, and as is the case in football, or any other sporting event, to win, and to be in control, that weakness muct be attacked, and it must be attacked right from the get go, with no mercy shown.IMO, if Joe Biden does not take control of the debate, right from the beginning, with strong attacks on Palin's weaknesses, and put her on an immediate defensive, he will be playing into her hands and what could happen could be a draw, an even battle, and for Palin, that would be as good as victory.I implore everyone in this forum to do what we can do to ensure that the Obama Campaign, and Senator Biden's staff, is told that he must go on the immdediate attack, no holds barred, and take control from the get go.Remind Senator Biden that "NICE GUYS FINISH LAST."
THE BEST DEFENSE IS A GOOD OFFENSE
Obama must never let McCain back him into a defensive position. Obama must go into full attack mode right from the get go and get McCain pained in and attempt to defend his positions and his policy.
Obama must never answer questions in a long, drawn out manner. And most of all, Obama must remember these three principles.
(as long as you hold onto the ball, the other guy can not score)
John McCain, who has little or nothing to stand on as far as the issues are concerned keeps mentioning that he has invited Barack Obama to Town Hall meetings and that Obama does not want to accept.
A response is required.
And a response in this manner is what the Obama camp needs to make.
They should say that Barack Obama would gladly meet with John McCain in a town hall meeting if the Obama camp can pick the location.
AND, more imporetantly, they should add that there should also be town hall meetings between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin. Those should be even more important as the public still has no idea who the real Sarah Palin is, and head to head town hall meetings would enable the American public to make that determination.
This needs to be done now. He who hesitates is lost.
Just like the wimpy assed campaignj manager for John Kerry, Mary Beth Cahil, was a disaster and not replaced till it was too late, Anita Dunn, the senior campaigjn strategist for Obama is following in the same path, leading a candidat who should win down the pathway for defeat.
It's time, NOW, before it is far too late, to dump her, and move some people in that have the cajones to go after the opposition, no hllds barred.
Never put a wimpy assed female in a position that should be handled by a man withthe guts, and the balls to go out and attack the opposition, all guns blazing and every target in sight.
Sarah Palin should have been knocked around and yet the Dunn led acampaign strategy has done nothing. Move now or the election will be history, and that is not a joke, it is a fact.
No offense intended, but she is a loser just as was Mary Beth Cahill of the Kerry campaign.
Release The 527 Groups
As Olbermann asked him tonight, "Do you regret putting the brakes on the 527 groups?"And then, as expected, Obama gave an answer something like this, to paraphrase. Do you want to end what we had for the last eight years. He meant, of course, that the 527 groups ads would just be more of the same.LET ME GIVE YOU SOME ADVICE, SENATOR OBAMA. IF YOU WANT TO MAKE THE CHANGE IN WASHINGTON, AS PRESIDENT, YOU HAVE TO GET THERE FIRST, AND IF YOU DONT CHANGE TACTICS, RIGHT AWAY, YOU JUST AIN'T GONNA GET THERE, AND NO CHANGE WILL OCCUR.ARE YOU WILLING TO ACCEPT THAT, SENATOR OBAMA?RELEASE THE 527 GROUPS
I do not think this is a good move right now.OI'Reilly, like Hannity, will frame questions so that the only way to answer them is the way O'reilly wants viewers to hear. And Obama is far too conciliiatory on too many occasions. This can end up being another set up much like the Rev. warren one was. This is not a good idea. You can take it to the bank that John McCain, and his campaign, would never agree to be interviewed by either Keith Olbermann or Rachel Maddow on their shows.
They will crop his comments and use them against him.
NEVER, NEVER, give your enemy an opening.
I believe Obama should reconsider
How to Lose - - - - - Evan Bayh
How To Win - - - - - Joe Biden
Plain, and Simple.
Very short, very brief. Stop playing patty cake with John McCain. He will never listen to what you are asking. He will never run a clean campaign. It is the only way they know and, they know it wins with the voters of America. The RNC will never listen to what you are asking. Remember the old saying, you fight fire with fire.
Also, Nice Guys Finish Last and you are well on your way to proving it by the type of campaign you are running.
There is only one way to win Senator and that is to attack and hit McCain with everything you can throw at him. No matter how below the belt. If it's true, hit him. And after you have hit him, you, and your subordinates must continue hitting. Never let up, repeat it over and over and over. Dont let what happened to John Kerry and Al Gore happen to you. You have the ammunition loaded. All you need to do is to have the strength, and the willingness to PULL THE TRIGGERS.
Sir, with all due respect, if you fail do do so, you will lose. You can no longer be MISTER NICE GUY. It does not work.
With due respect, Senator, it's time for you to stop playing namby pamby with Senator McCain and you either need to, as they say, S##t or get off the pot and begin attacking him, damn the torpedos , full speed ahead.
You are beginning to run a campaign reminiscent of the one headed by the wimpy assed Mary Beth Cahill who's weakly run campaign sold John Kerry down the river.
Senator McCain has more targets to hit with full broadsides and yet you are allowing him to take control and run this election in the manner that they want to, not you.
Contrary to popular belief, and no matter what the polls indicate, 95%, perhaps more, of Americans will have their mind made up on the election long before the conventions and if you continue to run this, again pardon the expression, wimpy assed campaign, then don't bother to pack your bags for the White House.
My apologies Senator, if this sounds harsh, and crude, but take it from some one who knows. Your continuance of this soft campaign ends with one simple word, "LOSER"
John McCain called President of Georgia, Saakashvili again on Tuesday.
"I told him that I know I speak for every American when I said to him, today, we are all Georgians," McCain told a cheering crowd in York, Pa. McCain's Democratic rival, Barack Obama, had spoken with Saakashvili the day before.
===========================================================Senator McCain, I have never been a Georgian, not yesterday, not the day before, and not ever. I am an American, and calling me a Georgian is offensive.I find your comment to be totally out of order, and I, for one, take personal offense to it as I am sure millions of other Americans do.I would hope, and expect, that you would publicly retract that comment, which is totally in error and a lie. ==========================================================================
Yes, that's what I said. As much as I would prefer Barack Obama to be our next president, over John McCain, I would NOT vote for him if he were to do what this headline, from CNN, suggests.
Former McCain Ally Touted For Obama's VP (CNN, August 12, 2008)
Yup, that's what I read and after I finished swearing at the screen on my monitor, I decided that if, and it's a big if, if Barack Obama does the foolish thing of picking a republican, any republican, as his vice presidential ruining mate, (that is not a typographical error. It DOES say RUINing Mate, not RUNning mate.) then he will have lost my vote, my wife's vote, and the votes of many people that I know who are planning on voting for him.
I don't care if the republican is Chuck Hagel or any politician with an "R" next to his name, Barack Obama loses my vote, period. END OF STORY
Formner Republican congressman, Jim Leach, said this,
"There are a number of impressive potential vice presidential candidates and this is a singular decision for one person, and that is Barack Obama," Leach said. "But personally I'd be hopeful in the list of serious candidates to be considered would be Chuck Hagel, whether it be for the veep position or a serious position in an Obama administration."
Of course the former Republican congressman would like that. Aside from his stance on the Iraq War, Hagel is a hard core, right wing politician. He would, eventually, be the biggest thorn in Obama's side.
Hagel, in an Obama administration would make Dick Cheney look like our greatest VP since John Adams, in 1789-97.
There are countless numbers of potential Democratic candidates for the VP slot on the ticket. Even Hillary, at this stage, has more to offer than Hagel.
If Obama thinks that having a two party ticket would unite the country, he is very, very wrong.
In fact, I can't see the DNC even allowing this to happen, and if they did, then not only would I not vote for Obama, I would disavow any association that I have with the Democratic Party, as a whole.
There is a time for bi-partisanship. This is NOT the time.
The right wing talking machine is attempting to associate John edwards with Barack Obama, playing videos of the two on stage together. That being the case prompted me to write the following article. We have all heard it in the past few days. How could anyone not have heard it? All of the networks, regular TV, cable TV and all the political talk radio shows are stretching the story about John Edwards' extra marital affair to the lime, ad nauseum..Especially the usual suspects, the right wing hacks like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and the others are all over this story, and they are using every possible angle including video innuendo shots of John Edwards sharing the same stage with Democratic Presidential presumptive candidate, Barack Obama. It's like they can't wait to jump on another opportunity to associate Obama with a very bad man.And while I can not condone the activities of John Edwards, it amazes me how the media is willing to run away with this story while at the same time, neglecting one that on the surface, and maybe even beneath the surface, shows that the presumptive Republican Candidate, Senator John McCain, might be a "badder" man for what he allegedly did to his first wife, Carol. (Yes, I know that there is no such word as "badder" but it seems to fit so nicely in this instance.)First, lets take a look at the words of a former Presidential candidate, one who pulled in 19% of the total vote, and that was done as a third party candidate, Ross Perot.Perot, just this year said this about John McCain, in reference to McCain's marriage, and eventual divorce, from his first wife, Carol."McCain is the classic opportunist. He's always reaching for attention and glory. After he came home, Carol walked with a limp. So he threw her over for a poster girl with big money from Arizona. And the rest is history,"Carol was a beautiful woman, a swimwear model when in 1965, she and McCain were married.McCain went off to serve in the Navy and has history has recorded, was shot down and spent more than five years in a North Viet Namese prison camp. Those years were hard for Carol, she remained at home, faithfully waiting for her husband's return. She looked after, and cared for her children, and she waited and waited for news and the return of her husband, the father of her children. And for John McCain, she was the one that he dreamed of during his long days and nights in captivity and he longed for the day he would go back home to his loving wife and loving family.Today, at age 70, she is a woman that lives in pain and discomfort. Her body is still held together by the pins and screws that were inserted during her surgery and her face just has the look of years and years of anguish.Ross Perot paid for her medical care.Seven years after his return from Viet Nam, in 1980, John McCain left her and just one month following the divorce he married his current wife, Cindy, younger than him by 18 years and the heiress to a huge fortune from the Beer Brewing industry. In a recent interview, the first given by Carol McCain in 30 years, she said this about her former husband."My marriage ended because John McCain didn't want to be 40, he wanted to be 25. You know that happens…it just does."On the same token, many of McCain's friends and associates were not quite as forgiving as Carol. They called McCain a self centered womanizer who abandoned his invalid wife in extra marital affairs. In the end, they say, Cindy fit the bill of what he was looking for, a beauty queen who could provide the type of financial stability that he was looking for.One can only guess that he was given a word of advice by a family member or close friend.
"John", one of them might have said to him, "You are a returning POW, the son of an Admiral, the time is now right for you to go into politics. You can go a long way, maybe senator, maybe even president. All you need is the financing and then you will be on your way"Of course, that is only speculation on my part. One really does not know if anything like that was ever said to John McCain. The possibility, in my opinion, is very good.McCain admitted that he had many girlfriends during the time he had returned home in 1973 and the eventual moment that he met Cindy. He met her at a cocktail party in Hawaii and he spent the next six months following her almost everywhere she went.It was then that he decided it was time to end his marriage with Carol.Carol, to this day, still says she adores him. She has supported him in all of his campaigns. But John, in 1980, without Carol, was on his way up the ladder of success, thanks to his new wife, Cindy, and his new father in law who introduced him to all of the right people, people with the political savvy and power which paved the way for his eventual election to the House of Representatives and the United States Senate.Still, there are those that speak of what they call "The Real John McCain."Ted Sampley, a Viet Nam veteran, said that he knows John McCain personally, after following his career for the past 20 years and says, "There is something wrong with this guy, and let me tell you what it is - deceit"Sampley then added, "When he came home and saw that Carol was not the beauty he left behind, he started running around on her almost right away. Everybody around him knew it.'Eventually he met Cindy and she was young and beautiful and very wealthy. At that point McCain just dumped Carol for something he thought was better.'This is a guy who makes such a big deal about his character. He has no character. He is a fake. If there was any character in that first marriage, it all belonged to Carol."With all that being said, the the history of John McCain's extra marital affairs, one has to ask a simple question…and that is, "This man, McCain is running for the office of the presidency of the United States of America. The TV networks are all over the John Edwards infidelity story.Somehow they seem to have overlooked a story of marital infidelity that goes way beyond that of John Edwards, who certainly has turned out to be a "bad" man as far as his marriage has gone, but John McCain, what of him, for it seems to me.and I am only one person, that what he did, the reasons that he did what he did, well, if John Edwards is a BAD man, then John McCain is a very, very much "BADDER" man.Let's air out HIS dirty laundry, too.
