My brother called me yesterday. We talked about a lot of things but much of it was about Obama. He confirmed what some had written me about the national mood being elevated by Obama's presence on the political scene. He said there is optimism everywhere. Of course the sickos are coming out of the closet spelling doom and gloom whenever they can about Obama. But, we expected that didn't we? There are those who still want to say he is "unqualified". Ha Ha Ha Ha! In politics qualified means you win elections. I don't care how bright you are or experienced, or clever. If you don't win elections you are not qualified in the eyes of the voters and that's what counts, isn't it?
Then my brother confessed his fear that the Clintons will bamboozle the superdelegates through fear of retribution. I reminded him that Obama, in the eys of the majority of Democrats and many Republicans will likely become President of The United States of America. Now, who should anybody fear retribution from, if Obama were that kind of person, which he isn't?
I have retired from active life as a professor. I am living in Ghana as my retirement home. I regret not being in the USA at this wonderful time in order to assist directly in getting the word out about this wonderful phenomenon called Barack Obama. But I do all I can from here. I tell all who will listen here in Africa (And they are delighted to hear about Obama) and I send e-mail everywhere. I have only received two requests from Republican friends to "please stop sending me all this propaganda about Obama". "Ok", I said and I stopped. But one Republican friend want to organize Republicans for Obama and has already had a funding raising activity in his home. Most of the people I write to are Democrats, so they like all the attention given to the party.
What else can I do? I am surprised that at 71 years old that I can still sing. So, I am offering my voice not only to God's work but to this wonderful work of Obama. I sing everywhere; at home, at church, at community events, and I will sing in the USA when I return in the summer.
You may ask, "what will that do ?" Well, I think that any positive vibrations that go out into the Cosmos affects us all. So, if you wake up one morning feeling so good, it is because I sang you up.
