Obama videos online

For anyone who is interested, there are a bunch of video testimonials on YouTube.com from Barack Obama supporters. Just search under "Barack Obama Supporters" and you will find them. Feel free to add your own videos in response telling the world why you support Barack Obama for President. You will also find, with a search under Michelle Obama, part 1 and 2 of Michelle Obama's recent talk in New Hampshire.You can also visit this MySpace page to see them all without having to search. Feel free to sign up as a friend to get notifications of additional videos being posted. I'll have some video from Barack Obama's Boston event to post there soon. Let me know if you want to be notified.

Virtual Obama

Hello,I'm just back from a trip to Second Life (www.secondlife.com) and I got a free Obama t-shirt. For those of you not familiar with Second Life, it is a 3D virtual world where users can create their own avatar, socialize, buy, sell, test drive cars, play games, etc. Many companies are adding Second Life to their promotional strategies such as Sears, Circuit City, IBM, Mercedes, Harvard University, etc. Someone has already built a virtual unofficial Barak Obama headquarters where you can watch Obama speeches, get banners, hats and t-shirts for your avatar for free, read Obama's thoughts on the issues and meet to discuss campaign tactics. I'd love Obama to do a town meeting there. Hint, hint...

YouTube Apple/Hillary video

I was sad to see that someone recently lost their job because they expressed themselves. Phil de Vellis, formerly of Blue State Digital, a political interactive consultancy company, was outed as the creator of the Apple/Hillary - Big Brother video that created such as stir on YouTube. de Vellis "resigned" his job with the company who does work for the Obama campaign, but I'm pretty sure he was given the choice to resign or be fired. This is a man who, on his own time with his own equipment, posted a video of his own conception to express his support for the Obama campaign. Because his company is affiliated with Obama's campaign he was forced to resign. It's not like Apple was suing for use of their video!The Internet allows people all over the world to enjoy the freedom of expression that we take for granted but are Constitutionally guaranteed in the U.S. Unfortunately no one had the guts to say that while they were not affiliated with the ad that they not only support de Vellis' right to express him self which is guaranteed by law, but that they applaud him for taking the initiative to take a stand for his candidate. This is user generated content and it's also Freedom of Speech. If you're not used to it after 220 years you better get used to it soon.I'm quite disturbed to see how a U.S. citizen exercizing their right to Freedom of Speech in their personal life is treated by a political candidate. John Edwards recently let go 2 bloggers working for him because he didn't agree with what they had to say in their off time. So I guess John Edwards doesn't believe in honesty, Freedom of Speech and allowing his employees to have a personal life.I hope Obama feels differently. Read More »

Exciting

I'm SO excited. I've been a fan of Mr. Obama since his speech at the DNC. I had thought about attending but once again the DNC disappointed me by selecting a candidate that, I felt, lacked honesty, integrity and humanity.

I've been hoping for years now that Mr. Obama would throw his laerge hat into the ring and today I'm more excited about this campaign than I have been about anything for a long time.

I'm looking forward to 8 years of President Obama and I'm going to do what I can to make that happen. I believe that this country stands on the edge of a precipice. It's not something that can be blamed solely on the Republicans or the "red states", though they own the majority of the blame, but also the weak kneed Democrats, who can never seem to agree, and never seem to stand behind their words and actions. I hope that Mr. Obama's entrance into the race will instill fortitude and focus in the party and make us a party of strength of ideals and leadership rather than the "herd of cats" we are known to be.

If elected, Mr. Obama will be the first black president, the first president of color, the first minority president, but, more importantly, he will be the first president who embodies all that should be common in America but is usually lacking in our political system; integrity, honesty, humanity and strength. He will be the first president I will vote for that wasn't the better of two devils.With all hope I will be too busy to keep up with this blog. Too busy doing what I can in the fight to get this country back on track Obama-style!
