We have been going to Milwaukee most Saturdays to knock on doors and ferret out the Obama supporters. It has been a slow go---we have been working in McCain neighborhood. Out of the 50 doors that we knocked on yesterday---20 people were home and 8 were for Obama.
One lady told me that she should send her dog out at me because Obama was a f___________Muslim. WE really need to keep working. Maureen
Cindy Anderson was a terrific, enthusiastic leader of our group!! She led the chants. We had a mixed response from the crowd. We ran out of stickers to give to Obama supporters along the way and we were met with disrespectful hostility from McCain supporters. It seems that many do not know how to articulate respectfully a different opinion or accept a different opinion.
Fired up and ready to go!!!!!! We spent the weekend after the convention in Racine canvassing along Lake Michigan. It was a beautiful day---we were very pumped up when we met a senior citizen (84 year old female) who had just finished cutting the lawn. She said that she was a McCain supporter and continued to talking about the problems in her neighborhood. After chatting with her for a few minutes about John McCain's life and the reasons behind his vote on partial abortions, we had managed to win her over. It made our day!!
I hosted a platform party at my house. Impressive is the word to describe the group of people that attended. They were respectful of opposing views, articulate of their own views, willing to listen to the other side, asked questions to understand, answered questions to help the group understand, brought incredible expertise and knowledge to the table. The platform was written. /We all agreed that the change that we wanted was a RENEWAL of Family Values. It seemed that everything else eminated from that concept. All of us are Fired Up and committed to do what needs to be done to get Barack elected.

iT IS SO EXCITING THAT CATHERINE KENNEY IS HOSTING A UNITY PARTY IN PARK RIDGE. PARK RIDGE IS THE FORMER HOME OF HILLARY CLINTON AND A REPUBLICAN STRONGHOLD. HOPEFULLY, WE WILL SOW SOME SEEDS TO CHANGE THAT DEMOGRAPHIC.

It is so gratifying after this long primary campaign that Barack is the presumptive nominee. I watched his pep talk to his campaign workers in Chicago---letting us know just how hard that we have to work from now until November and how important the stakes are that we win the election.
I'm fired up and ready to go!
