Amazing what you can do in your first 20 months. So this is "executive experience":
After being found guilty of abusing her power as governor in the so-called "troopergate" scandal over the firing of her ex-brother-in-law, Palin now faces a second probe over whether she violated ethics rules in the affair.

The Troopergate probe was launched after a unanimous vote by 8 Republicans and 4 Democrats.
WASHINGTON - The number of homeowners ensnared in the foreclosure crisis grew by more than 70 percent in the third quarter of this year compared with the same period in 2007, according to data released Thursday.
By the end of the year, RealtyTrac expects more than a million bank-owned properties to have piled up on the market, representing around a third of all properties for sale in the U.S.

Barack, David, and all:
Thank you so much for running TV commercials in Dallas!! I know that here in Texas we are probably a lost cause this year, but it's been really great to see the ads and feel involved. (We don't usually see this much advertising, it's awesome). If we can't send you our electoral votes, maybe we'll get a couple of Texas Republicans out of the House this year. Hopefully the state is turning from red to purple and who knows - maybe thanks to your help it will be blue in the next 10 years.
My favorite commercial in Dallas is hands-down, no question: "Same". Where at the end its John McCain on camera boasting about how he votes in lock-step with Bush over 90% of the time. Maverick? What a joke.
Since seeing the commercials I've been compelled to contribute more, when I thought I was done. Thanks again!
GOP spends $150,000 for Palin's wardrobe in September
Most of it (over 75%) was spent in 2 massive shopping sprees: The expenses include $75,062 spent at Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis Minn., and $41,850 in St. Louis in early September. (That’s $117,000 in 2 shopping trips – that’s the cost of a house).
The GOP spent $4,700 for her makeup and hair styling (just in September). I wonder if her donors knew they were supporting her makeup requirements when they wrote their checks.

McCain and the politics of hatred, fear, and prejudice: http://therealmccain.com/mob/ (2 min) And this next one...it's about a large group of hate mongers being catered to right now....Wow. (The 60 seconds is an introduction (a little slow, IMO), but it picks up quickly)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGn9F1Jw24U&NR=1 It reminded me of this video from 50 years ago - it's the exact same group of people, just a generation removed:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgH7WgtIU2k (15 seconds). You can sign a petition to be sent to John McCain after watching the video. And, if you've got $5 you can fight against this political campaign: http://my.barackobama.com/page/contribute
Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.

Mark Morford on Palin:
Truly, among women in the know and especially among those who fought so hard to bring Hillary Clinton to the brink of history, nausea and a general recoiling appear to be the universal reactions to Palin's sudden presence on the national stage, stemming straight from the idea that there's even a slight chance in hell such an antagonistic, anti-female politico could be within a 72-year-old heartbeat of becoming the most powerful and iconic woman of all time.
It cannot be true, they say. The universe must be joking; it would not dare dump such a homophobic, Creationist evangelical nutball on us, this anti-choice, God-pandering woman who's the inverse of Hillary, this woman of deep inexperience who abhors birth control and supports abstinence education and shoots exhausted wolves from helicopters and hates polar bears and actually stands for everything progressive women have resented since the first pope Swift-Boated Eve.

Senator John McCain’s campaign manager was paid more than $30,000 a month for five years as president of an advocacy group set up by the mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to defend them against stricter regulations, current and former officials say.
Mr. McCain has recently begun campaigning as a critic of Freddie & Fannie and the lobbying army that helped them evade greater regulation [under GOP administration] as they began buying riskier mortgages with implicit federal backing.
He and his Democratic rival, Senator Barack Obama, have donors and advisers who are tied to the companies. But last week the McCain campaign stepped up a running battle of guilt by association when it began broadcasting commercials trying to link Mr. Obama directly to the government bailout of the mortgage giants this month by charging that he takes advice from Fannie Mae’s former chief executive, Franklin Raines, an assertion both Mr. Raines and the Obama campaign dispute.
Incensed by the advertisements, several current and former executives of the companies came forward to discuss the role that Rick Davis, Mr. McCain’s campaign manager and longtime adviser, played in helping Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac beat back regulatory challenges when he served as president of their advocacy group, the Homeownership Alliance, formed in the summer of 2000. Some who came forward were Democrats, but Republicans, speaking on the condition of anonymity, confirmed their descriptions.

I'm a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight.....
If you grow up in Kansas, raised by your mom and grandparents, you're exotic and different. Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, a quintessential American story.
If your name is Barack you're a radical. Name your kids Willow, Trig, Piper, and Track, you're a maverick.
Graduate from Harvard Law School and you are unstable. Attend 5 different small colleges before earning a journalism degree, you're well grounded.
If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's values don't represent America's. If you're husband is nicknamed "First Dude", with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn't register to vote until age 25 and was for 8 years a member of an anti-American group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.
If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, you don't have any real leadership experience. If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people,20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people (less than Austin, TX), then you're qualified to become the country's second highest ranking executive and possibly its president. (Don't forget PTA member).
If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society. If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant, you're very responsible.
OK, much clearer now.
