I watched the presidental debate from Oxford Mississippi .Both canidates it seemed covered the economy when MC Cain wasn't quoting misinformation about Barack Obama . What I would love to have heard more discussion on is the problem with illegal immigrants and what if anything can be done about it .
Today the President is suppose to sign the legislation giving 700 billiion dollars to bail out some banks . I have heard several people including President Bush saying this is necessary . I don't see it . I believe the banks should fail if that was to be the natural course of events . When you or I make a bad investment we have to suffer the consequences .Why shouldn't the same rules apply to businesses and corporations ?
My sister works ten t twelve hours six sometimes seven days every week struggling to pay her mortgage . It takes her income , her husband's disability income , and most of their daughters part ime income and still it is a struggle . Most of the time the family is sacrificing food and medicines . And still to many times the ends simply will not meet . Who is willing to help hard working people like my sister ?
If she loses her home will the President ? Will congress or the Senate rush to bail her out . If the company she has worked for for sixteen years fails will the tax payers rush to assist in paying her salary or the wages of her daugher who works part time for the same company ? Where is their parachute? What color will their parachute be ?
Today Senator John Mc Cain announced his running mate . He chose an unknown or little known senator from Alaska . It is true I orginally supported a female canidate , Hillery clinton , it is also true that in one of my earlier blogs I asked the question why not HIllary ? I would have supported Hillary Clinton for vice President . But, Obama chose Senator Joe Biden . I have accepted the choice .
Does Senator Mc Cain expect to win over the women voters with his VP choice .He is grasping at straws . But, the senator has failed to comprehend the simple truth , American women are not interchangable . The parties can't take away Hillary and replace her with the first political female avilable .
The women voters out there are a lot smarter than that . We want , we need , we should settle for nothing less than a strong female canidate if we can't have someone equal to or stronger than Senator Hillary Clinton Every woman voter should vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden .
The ireworks were beautiful . And the invitations that allowed so many ordinary people to see and hear Barack obama in person was generous . However , I was terrorfied with more than one death threat against the canidate I was afraid security would be impossible . In my mind I saw the recreation of the assassination of Robert Kennedy and President John F . Kennedy . I do not want to ever see another canidate or president assassinated . Nothing happened , for that I am gratful .
Still the fear is with me . I can't shake the feeing that someone will atteempt to assassinate Barack Obama . I am no psychic and probally there is no valid reason for the canidate or anyone to take me seriously . It is simply a horrible feeling that will not go away.
What I saw on the final night of the Democratic National convention was someone who is loved by the people . I saw the only canidate offering change . As i listened to Barack Obam's speech I began to believe Yes we can . I hope my hopes , my faith , my willingness to believe in the possibility for change is not in vain .
I saw a man of great courage taking a most unnessary risk . What if someone had taken a shot at him ? What if that hyperthetical shot had struck his wife or one of his children . Assassins don't always hit their intended target . AGAIN I SAY THANK GOD MY FEARS WERE NOT REALIZED. THANK gOD NO ONE ACTED ON ANY THE DEATH THREATS .
Barack Obama : When asked for your opinion on the Abortion issue you responded " That is above my pay grade " or something on that order , As an Ameican you surely have an opinion so why did you retreat from the question ? As someone who will hopefully be the next president of the United States I am very interested in knowing where you stand on this and every issue .
Why Biden why not Hillery ?
