This is something I wanted to keep, because when the anger and hatred brings me down, you guys lifted me back up. Thank you.

I just wanted you guys to know how much I love you all. (No I'm not drunk).I have briefly visited other blogs to help those who called to argue against Obama haters, and felt like I was being dragged into a snake pit of hate, lies, and anger. It was very dark, and all I wanted to do was to come back here and read the (mostly) uplifting, encouraging words of truth. Obama blog is a warm sunny day. Thank you.

Re: Obama Family | Report to Admin Reply By Nicka26 Today at 10:09 am EDT Hi MarizzaAm not sure how long you have been on the blog but this should be your base. And only go out there when you feel you are equipped enough and strong enough to fight. Do not hesitate to comr back and ask us how to answer some of the attacks that you are facing. There have been some tough attacks on BO during the primaries and we survived it thanks to our blog. we actually prevailed. There will be tough times but come back in your family at these moments. It's getting hot out there for BO but it has before and we won. So,take a deep breath and welcome back home. We love you too.
Re: Obama Family | Report to Admin Reply By Marizza 7 seconds ago I feel pretty knowledgeable, and I can argue pretty well (my husband could attest to that). It just makes me physically nauseated to be around so much hatred. It's like venom, and this family is the antedote. Awww!
Re: Obama Family | Report to Admin Reply By Kenneth from Allston, MA Today at 10:10 am EDT I love you Marizza! I love you Joe Ruwe! I love you HSLK! I love you Doreen! And yes, I am drunk!
No seriously, love is simply positive emotion. There are only two emotions that really exist in our society, one is love and the other is fear. All other emotions are simply derivatives of the two. But in essence, love has no opposites, which is the main reason why so many people in our society struggle with that word.
I LOVE YOU ALL!!!
Hugs and Fist Pumps 4 ALL!!! Re: Obama Family | Report to Admin Reply By Just another ObamaCanadian... Today at 10:19 am EDT We love you back... We'll maintain our humility in the face of hate, lies and anger... It how we change the world by continuing to be a hopemonger in the face of hate, lies and anger... Hope transforms while hate, lies and anger destroy...
Peace and blessings to all in the Obama Nation!! Re: Obama Family | Report to Admin Reply By Faith Today at 10:22 am EDT Good Morning All,Hello Marizza, glad to see you. You are so right about it being like going into a den of evil snakes. After I leave them, I feel like a need a shower, ick!
Sometimes I wonder if it is worth even trying to write posts that make rational sense on those blogs, but then I realize that somebody has to post for those who happen by them by chance.
Let's remember that these people are putting out very negative energy into the universe. We need to combat it with postive energy. I pray everyday for this campaign, its supporters, Barack, Michelle and the girls, Ted Kennedy(and of course my family and stuff).
Remain hopeful and faithful
I think we should try to organize Get out the Vote campaign here in Hot Springs.
I am going to contact the county clerk tomorrow, and have tried to get in contact with the Obama campaign and the DNC to see what else I need to do. I will be happy to go door to door, or set up registration booths myself, but would be more efficient with your help. Are there any interested bodies?
:) Pretty please :)
Marizza
I don't know who will read this, which is why I am so hesitant to write, but I guess the idea is to organize my thoughts.
Tuesday was one of the happiest days of my life. I made all of my daughters watch so that they could say they remember the day an african-american was nominated for the highest position in the country, the day we changed the world, the day we took our moment. They seemed to understand.
Now, after reading the many blog posts on HillaryClinton.com, after hearing the opinions of an educationally, ethically, and philsophically diverse group (I went to a wedding), I can see that our next battle will be difficult. We need to stop celebrating, and start organizing. I am currently in Magnolia, Arkansas. I small college town with a large african-american population and blatant remnants of segregation, ie., all "black" high school, "black" neighborhoods, "white" neighborhoods, and "mixed" neighborhoods ( I gaped when I heard that word), and even a "selective" club which does not allow non-whites. Needless to say, the african-americans are weary of those who are "white". My husband and I are going to register as many voters here in Magnolia. I am then going to Hot Springs, where I work, and will spend as many evenings registering people to vote. The problem, I don't know how to do it. I guess I have to call the county clerk? I should call nearby churches to see if I could stand outside after church and register people that way. Does anyone out there have any advice? I am horrible at calling, so I plan to write post cards. I feel bad that I haven't been very useful during the primaries, but I'll step it up for the general. Maybe I'll get over my fear of talking to strangers and call some people. Good luck to all of you,
I have conflicting views on this issue.
On the one hand, we want Obama to win as many states as possible. On the other hand, do we want him to campaign in states which are so overtly hostile to African-americans. I worry about his safety there, and due to the fact that these states have historically leaned republican, would it be worth it? He has incredible support in other states with the "working class white voters", and can swing these states to make up for KY and WV.
Please let me know what you think about this. I am confused. I have to deal with occasional prejudice because I am of latin descent and living in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where there seems to be an influx of central american and mexican immigrants. It's horrible to be yelled at, or treated like you are stupid, simply because your skin color is brown and you have dark features. I don't want Obama to have to go through this and worse.
On another issue, it seems that the media has a short term memory (what a surprise) when it comes to primary results. McCain was blown away by 30 -50 points a few times; Alaska 28 pts, Colorado 40 pts, Maine 19 pts, Nevada 38 pts. etc., etc. Obama is not damaged goods. I wish they would stop repeating Hillary's line that he will have problems in the general because of these "landslide" victories for Clinton in the Appalachian states.
Peace or War. Diplomacy or Violence. Change or Status Quo. People or Corporations. Obama or McCain. The choice is obvious.
All the best to Ted Kennedy,
Happy Mother's Day to all mothers out there.
I have changed my fundraiser to Mama's for Obama in honor of this day.
I think it makes more sense, since intelligent mothers who realize that change is what we need to make this a better world in which our children can live.
Please donate $5 in honor of mothers day!
Go Obama! 155 to go.

In case you have not heard, several members of the U.S. Congress have decided to pen a letter which urges superdelagates to overturn the will of the American people who voted in the Democratic Primaries. The letter and its authors have been pasted at the bottom of this message. If you are like me and your are outraged that these Congressmen believe elections can be overturned in the back room, then I urge you to IMMEDIATELY sign this petition: http://www.petitiononline.com/592008/petition.html
Thank you,
Edward Rotchford
The letter in question:
Dear Fellow Democrat,
We are writing to you because of our shared belief in our Party's principles and our commitment to ensuring that we have the strongest possible nominee to lead our ticket against John McCain and the Republicans in November.
The decision about who to support to be our Party's nominee is not one that any of us should take lightly. We haven't. But, after giving this important decision a great deal of thought, we are convinced that Hillary Clinton has the vision, skills and commitment to make the changes our country needs. As Democrats who have run and won in competitive Congressional districts and battleground states, we believe that Hillary is best positioned to successfully lead the Democratic ticket in districts and states like ours around the country.
As you know, Hillary has racked up victories in bellwether states like Ohio, Pennsylvania and now Indiana that are absolutely vital to winning the White House and maintaining our Congressional majority in the fall. Hillary has won the big battleground states by connecting with voters whose support we must have to win the general election. Her victories in Pennsylvania and Indiana were all the more impressive after being outspent by as much as two or three to one.
Pennsylvania was not just a victory for Hillary Clinton. It was also a wake- up call for superdelegates, forcing us to ask ourselves two essential questions: 1) Which candidate can carry the magic 270 electoral votes to win in the fall? 2) Which candidate is most likely to help our fellow Democrats in down-ballot races? We believe the answer to both of these questions is Hillary Clinton.
On the first question, Hillary has shown she can win the all-important battleground states like Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida even while being outspent. This speaks to her ability to connect with voters we must deliver in the fall, including blue collar Democrats who can sway this election as they have in the past.
On the second question, Hillary has won rural and suburban districts which we as Democrats must carry to maintain our edge in Congress. Of the fifteen districts rated "toss up" by the Cook Political Report, Hillary has now won ten. Of the 20 districts we picked up in 2006 that had gone for President Bush just two years before, Hillary has now won 16. She is strong in the places we must win to hold and expand our majority.
This is a historically close race. The candidates are separated by a mere percentage point or two and the path to victory for each candidate is the same: win in the upcoming states and secure enough pledged and automatic delegates to get to the number required to win the nomination.
The race now turns to the remaining six contests where the focus will be squarely on the economy. Voters in our states and across the country are voting on issues that affect them, their communities and their children's future. We believe that they will decide that Hillary is the candidate who best understands those issues and has the best solutions to address them.
We Democrats are justifiably proud of both of our candidates, and if Senator Obama is our Party's nominee, we will enthusiastically support him. But our responsibility is not to choose simply to support the eventual nominee; it is to help select the nominee who is best for our party and best for our country. Our choice is clear: Hillary Clinton is that candidate. We believe she should be your choice as well.
Thank you for consideration.
Sincerely, Rep. Michael Arcuri (NY-24) Rep. Shelley Berkley (NV-01) Rep. Marion Berry (AR-1) Rep. Henry Cuellar (TX-28) Rep. Kirsten Gillibrand (NY-20) Rep. Gene Green (TX -29) Rep. Okay, my mom is not scary, just intimidating.
She just told me that Hillary lost her vote when she said she would obliterate Iran.
Go mom!
Did I just hear correctly.
George McGovern just switched to Obama and told Clinton she should get out.
Woohoo. This really is going to happen!
I talked to my mother, and I convinced her to vote for Barack.
This may not seem like a big accomplishment, but she is scary and is the matriarch of a large family. She may convince many others in the family who are currently decided. Yay!
Here is something cooler. I am a math instructor at the Arkansas School of Mathematics and Sciences, and I heard all of my math colleagues saying how it is obvious that Barack is the best candidate. What is so cool about this, is two of them used to be Bush supporters. He has inspired so many people to believe in him, it's amazing. Woohoo Obama!
