To all Democrats looking to vote against the Democratic nominee in order to assure his defeat and (based on a McCain one term Presidency) allow Hillary to run again in 2012; here is the flaw of your strategy; you need Obama ‘s base to achieve a win in 2012.
A calculated defeat of Obama in 2008 would mean a calculated defeat for Hillary in 2012, which means Republican rule for 12 more years.
The question is, Can you and your children afford another 12 years of Bush policies carried out by McCain and the Republican who will beat Hillary in 2012?
Can the country afford 12 more years of total neglect on issues such as the Economy, Supreme Court Judges, Oil prices, Healthcare, Energy policies, food prices, Foreclosures, Weak dollar, Deficit, Education Affordability or will you embrace the Republican rule of McCain running for another 4 years of Bush policies?
I say, let’s have 16 years of Democratic leadership, with Obama addressing the current issues with a new, fresh approach in Leadership then elect Hillary for the other 8 years as she will still be young (in political years) and can continue to steer these policies into reality.
We can have both….on their own terms. Not forced into a marriage that may not work.
There is no reason why we should, after having one of the most fascinating primaries in modern history, elect a senile, backwards thinking politician who shares none of our values…the right to choose, lower taxes for the middle class and small business, respect for the Constitution while fighting and winning the war on terrorism, the environment and a new energy policy which is critical to the National Security of this Country.
McCain, not Obama, is the real risk. Think seriously about your choice and ask yourself “Which candidate will work hard to bring about CHANGE and tackle the issues I have addressed?”
The answer should be clear...
Let us unite as a party and make a commitment to move this Country forward by making a commitment to 16 years of Democratic Leadership.
Barack 8 years, Hillary 8 years. This election is ours to lose. Let’s make the smart choice this time, which is not McCain…
