This is just a friendly reminder to all of those who live in TX and may be unaware. Pass it on...
A friend, who lives in a suburb of Dallas, did not realize that she has to vote then caucus on Tuesday, March 4th, at 7 p.m. (You have to be on time-before the first vote). Please check to see where your caucus location is and make sure you vote too. I don't know if you're allowed to caucus without having voted. We need the caucus votes to earn delegates for the election, so this key. My friend said she was going to send in her vote so that she won't have to worry about it on Tuesday and would be able to make it to the caucus.
Last month, I put my vote in the mail then went to a caucus in my state for the first time in my life and it wasn't at all what I envisioned. It wasn't a hostile environment or one that required everyone to stand up on a soap box and make comments about why they were choosing a particular candidate. We signed-in then split into groups by the candidates we supported. Those who were undecided had their own group but heard presentations from voters who were in support of Hillary or Barack (we won 3-1). After this, the number of votes per candidate were tallied and delegates were selected. By the time it was over, I exchanged phone numbers with new acquaintances from my area. It was a good experience and even more amazing to see so many people of various ages and ethnicities rally to support Sen. Obama.
So now Texas, it's your turn. Please vote and go to your local caucus.
