Congratulations, Senator Obama,
Millions of Americans have listened to your message and heeded your call, Senator. Together, we believe that we will be a part of the next major generational change that this country has experienced in almost 40 years. Together, unabated, and unobstructed, "Yes, We Can!"
Sen. Clinton for VP? No, we can't. Please do let her presure you into this decision. You will regret it from the instant that is announced at the convention.
This should be your campaign, your presidency, your visions, your failures, and your successes, sir.
We do not need to have the Clinton's and their cronies making their side deals, working their influence with their corporate buddies, and preening for the cameras at every chance they get.
They they would be; off-camera, poised to see you fail or trying to take credit for ANY action or policy that you enact.
There's an expression, "You don't move next door to your ex-wife's mother." Its a no win.
Make this your presidency, sir. You need some advice on an issue? Then ask your wife. That's the only woman you need to have telling you what to do, sir. Where does the Clinton pandering stop? She and her immoral husband will want one deal after another, in their words, to show that you respect the voices of her misguided followers.
Sir, you have gotten this far on your own. Trust your heart and the millions of people who will continue to represent your efforts and your beliefs. And, if we fail in November, then we failed together. Not because of, or inspite of a Clinton.
This is your time, sir. The age of 'Obama' not for that of another Clinton. Let her chew on her power lust for another eight (8) years, and we'll see what the old girl has left in 2016.
Respectfully,
Lou Martina Mt. Lebanon, PA
Dear Senator Obama,
Louis MartinaMt. Lebanon, PA
Hey, America, (and my friends in Portland, OR)
An amazing thing happened in Pittsburgh, PA this afternoon!
The United States Steelworkers Union has pledged their support of Senator Obama in the General Elections this Fall! Hey, people, this is one of the major national unions that has borne the impacts of a global economy and decisions made in Washington, DC that benefited the corporate directors. Many times, at the expense of rank and file workers within these unions.
Well, I did something that was TOTALLY out of character (well, out of my old, conservative, 'RED' character...)
We are SO LUCKY to be a part of this chrysalis. . . a metamorphosis of change.
YES, We Can!
-Lou
I am niether bitter nor angry here in PA. The love and community that I have experienced on the road with the campaign have been amazing.
But just you wait, if 'Billary' tries to steal this election from us. . . . then, I'll show you angry :-)
Let's show the World what positive changes a little righteous indignation can accomplish! Senator Obama's 'peaceful revolution' has already changed America!
My Presidential Choice is a Black Man, whose boss is a Jewish Carpenter!
Well, the Spirit of the Obama camapaign is ALIVE and well in Muncie, Indiana. We had a full car of Obama supporters from the Western PA region, (Mt. Lebanon, Butler) and left Pittsburgh with our hearts and gas tank full and ready to work for he campaign. We got to experience the grace and givinng spirits of everyone we met throughout the weekend. From Steve, the TGI Tire Warehouse in Heath, OH, who stayed open after closing hours on Friday night to fix our flat tire; to Bill Bowling, the business man and former staunch supporter of the CLintons, in Muncie, IN, who offered the use of his Karate School to sheltoer the out of state volunteers to sleep for the two nights we were in Muincie. (note: we also have several new defensive karate moves to put the hurt on our detractors from the darkside) .
Christine S. had everything coordinated and ready for us when we arrived in her office at 11:00 PM Friday night. Thanks you, Christine!
The only negative experience was that one of the staffer felt that he had to hoarde the yard signs until election day, and that I should trust his opinion and final decision because he was in Iowa and he had been on the campaign for two years, and that he knows what he is doing. He was wrong and I told him so. But, other than this tired, sleep deprived staffer, the trip to Muncie was a fantastic success.
On Staurday, with the campaign office surrounded bu graduation activities from Ball State University, we ventured out into the greater Muncie area with our message of hope: get out the vote.
Just looking around what must have been a thriving downtown 20-30 years ago, Muncie has felt the blows and burden of the past eight years of the current administration. Facotries are closed; jobs are gone. The town is polarized and paralyzed.
My canvassing buddie and Obama spiritual partner, Tamara S., commented that this town is just another of many that is so ready to adopt the positive message of change from the Obama campaign that also comes with the feelings of hope for a better tomorrow. She also pointed out that, irrespective of what ever happens over the next six months, that Senator Obama has already won. He has already changed the country because he has empowered every-day, typical Americans with the will to make this Country better. No other candidate has created this furvor and giddy zeal for positive, enclusive, change. This message is coming from Senator Obama and UP thriugh the organization. This is grass-roots; no a top-down "my way or the highway.
The message is a cleansing, reviving, forgiving, empowering one of HOPE. It washes our feet and cleanses our spirits. "Not just our feet, Rabbi, not just our feet."
-Lou Martina
Bringing supporters from Pittsburgh to Muincie this weekend. Man, what a combination: The pride of American Spirit propped up with power of the Holy Spirit.
This feeling must have been what the Founding Fathers were striving for when they gave us this process some 220 years ago!Its about time! Its about CHANGE!
