This is probably my only post to the community blog section of barackobama.com.
I had the distinct pleasure of spending Super (duper?) Tuesday with about 100 ex-patriate Democrats at a pub on the West Side of Vancouver, BC, Canada where the Vancouver chapter of Democrats Abroad were allowing all self-identified Democrats cast their ballots for the Democrats Abroad primary. The votes have yet to be counted, but there were an awful lot of Obama supporters in the room.
They turned off the HOCKEY GAME, the much beloved local team even, so everyone could watch Mr. Obama's speech on the big screen.
My husband once said to me (of President Bush's presidency) "I have NEVER been ashamed to be an American until now". Two years later we were watching Mr. Obama's speech in New Hampshire and I caught him wiping away a tear. He looked at me and said "There's hope for us."
Yes. You. Can. America.
YES YOU CAN. Don't let the rest of the free world down by voting for the white guy again, okay? ;)
Much love to the Obama '08 campaign from your neighbours to the north.
