Wow. The news continues to be bleak, yet I don't feel a sense of doom. I'm worried, sans panicked. I believe in this new guy, our President, Barak, in the familiar. Hey, the stimulus package PASSED! Pres Obama is right on target with his timetable, and it's only February! Let's face it, the man rocks.
What concerns I have, like so many of my brethren in these united States: is my job safe? Will I be asked to take an economic hit, when my dollar is already shy of reaching it's full potential? Which way should I lean - spend for the economy, or save for the unknown future?
Deeper down, the nagging worries for those physically and mentally challenged citizens who are our daughters and sons, neighbors and co-workers: will there be enough Medicare to cover their essential health needs? Will the support programs (job coaches, public transportation, independant living counselors, regional centers and resource offices) have enough funding to continue serving this vibrant segment of our population?
