This is just to funny, Sarah Palin has already set her sights on 2012, she appearantly does'nt think they will win or McCain won't run in 2012 if they are elected. This is what I find to be wrong with the GOP presidential canididate.
This guy is perfect for Palin/McCain, his message is based on no facts and his background is shady at best, I mean really, he's just like them, he owes back taxes, he's not even licensed as a plumber, is not buying a business and the business in question does not make 250,000 dollars. He will fit right in with Palin who also has a problem with transparency as she herself has been found to have violated Alaska ethics and the peoples trust. He is just another opportunist just as Palin, I mean for god sakes he has hired a publicist, is in the process of trying to get a recording contract as well as running for office, is this guy for real? He is in it just for the attention and I do not understand why no one has called him out for not telling the truth. Palin is no better as she herself has already stated she plans to run for office in 2012, I guess she really does not have faith in McCain’s ability to win the election or maybe she is making sure she has back up plan. These two (JTP and Palin) will probably be on the ticket for the republicans in 2012 and it's sad because it shows Palin is not really into winning (at least by her actions) the white house with McCain. When will this circus of the GOP stop and they finally wake up, when will they start working together instead of cutting off limbs that appear to not to be working and fix them instead, and when will they run a clean campaign that tells what plans they have instead of continually smearing the other party. If they put half of that energy into telling the American people what plans they have to repair America’s economy and getting it to grow again they would have no problems with getting the people behind them. Instead they have elected to talk about issues which have long since passed and kept beating it over and over until people have become sick and tired of it and turned toward the person who has all along proposed that the times are tough and we will have to struggle to get through the current situation. This honesty is what the people need to hear and it does work, telling the people that certain Americans are socialist or that just because people they have met in their life some how makes them unable to make sound judgments is ridiculous, especially when the persons telling the American people these things have themselves dealt with the some of those same people even giving them hundreds of thousands of dollars. The none stop smears and trash talking (in my opinion) that had gone on during this election campaign has been childish and beneath what we stand for and it is now time to stop these tactics, for those stones you throw usually come back to hit you or. Case and point: Sarah Palin in Trooper Gate, JTP and the fact he is unlicensed and finally John McCain when he gave the almost 5000,000 dollars to a PLO group for research where Rashid Cali die was a part of while McCain was chairman for in the late 1990’s . If what McCain has charged Obama with was true then isn’t McCain guilty of that same charge since he has also come in contact with some of the same people? If we start holding people accountable for people they have met in their life then lots of people would be charged as un-American or worst, a terrorist. My point is this, we are all Americans and questioning that on the basis of who we have met is not what we should stand for as we would all be guilty.
Here is another point to add to Palins true face. You must read this articial about how Palin has charged the states of Alaska as well as the tax payers for travel expenses and hotel rooms for her daughters as state buisness.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Gov. Sarah Palin charged the state for her children to travel with her, including to events where they were not invited, and later amended expense reports to specify that they were on official business.
The charges included costs for hotel and commercial flights for three daughters to join Palin to watch their father in a snowmobile race, and a trip to New York, where the governor attended a five-hour conference and stayed with 17-year-old Bristol for five days and four nights in a luxury hotel.
In all, Palin has charged the state $21,012 for her three daughters' 64 one-way and 12 round-trip commercial flights since she took office in December 2006. In some other cases, she has charged the state for hotel rooms for the girls.
Alaska law does not specifically address expenses for a governor's children. The law allows for payment of expenses for anyone conducting official state business.
As governor, Palin justified having the state pay for the travel of her daughters — Bristol, 17; Willow, 14; and Piper, 7 — by noting on travel forms that the girls had been invited to attend or participate in events on the governor's schedule.
But some organizers of these events said they were surprised when the Palin children showed up uninvited, or said they agreed to a request by the governor to allow the children to attend.
Several other organizers said the children merely accompanied their mother and did not participate. The trips enabled Palin, whose main state office is in the capital of Juneau, to spend more time with her children.
"She said any event she can take her kids to is an event she tries to attend," said Jennifer McCarthy, who helped organize the June 2007 Family Day Celebration picnic in Ketchikan that Piper attended with her parents.
State Finance Director Kim Garnero told The Associated Press she has not reviewed the Palins' travel expense forms, so she could not say whether the daughters' travel with their mother would meet the definition of official business.
After Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain chose Palin his running mate and reporters asked for the records, Palin ordered changes to previously filed expense reports for her daughters' travel.
In the amended reports, Palin added phrases such as "First Family attending" and "First Family invited" to explain the girls' attendance.
"The governor said, 'I want the purpose and the reason for this travel to be clear,'" said Linda Perez, state director of administrative services.
When Palin released her family's tax records as part of her vice presidential campaign, some tax experts questioned why she did not report the children's state travel reimbursements as income.
The Palins released a review by a Washington attorney who said state law allows the children's travel expenses to be reimbursed and not taxed when they conduct official state business.
Taylor Griffin, a McCain-Palin campaign spokesman, said Palin followed state policy allowing governors to charge for their children's travel. He said the governor's office has invitations requesting the family to attend some events, but he said he did not have them to provide.
In October 2007, Palin brought daughter Bristol along on a trip to New York for a women's leadership conference. Plane tickets from Anchorage to La Guardia Airport for $1,385.11 were billed to the state, records show, and mother and daughter shared a room for four nights at the $707.29-per-night Essex House hotel, which overlooks Central Park.
The event's organizers said Palin asked if she could bring her daughter.
Alexis Gelber, who organized Newsweek's Third Annual Women & Leadership Conference, said she does not know how Bristol ended up attending. Gelber said invitees usually attend alone, but some ask if they can bring a relative or friend.
Griffin, the campaign spokesman, said he believes someone with the event personally sent an e-mail to Bristol inviting her, but he did not have it to provide. Records show Palin also met with Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Goldman Sachs representatives and visited the New York Stock Exchange.
In January, the governor, Willow and Piper showed up at the Alaska Symphony of Seafood Buffet, an Anchorage gala to announce winners of an earlier seafood competition.
"She was just there," said James Browning, executive director of Alaska Fisheries Development Foundation, which runs the event. Griffin said the governor's office received an invitation that was not specifically addressed to anyone.
When Palin amended her children's expense reports, she listed a role for the two girls at the function — "to draw two separate raffle tickets."
In the original travel form, Palin listed a number of events that her children attended and said they were there "in official capacity helping." She did not identify any specific roles for the girls.
In July, the governor charged the state $2,741.26 to take Bristol and Piper to Philadelphia for a meeting of the National Governors Association. The girls had their own room for five nights at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel for $215.46 a night, expense records show.
Expense forms describe the girls' official purpose as "NGA Governor's Youth Programs and family activities." But those programs were activities designed to keep children busy, a service provided by the NGA
to accommodate governors and their families, NGA spokeswoman Jodi Omear said.
In addition to the commercial flights, the children have traveled dozens of times with Palin on a state plane. For these flights, the total cost of operating the plane, at $971 an hour, was about $55,000, according to state flight logs. The cost of operating the state plane does not increase when the children join their mother.
The organizer of an American Heart Association luncheon on Feb. 15 in Fairbanks said Palin asked to bring daughter Piper to the event, and the organizer said she was surprised when Palin showed up with daughter Willow and Bristol as well.
The three Palin daughters shared a room separate from their mother at the Princess Lodge in Fairbanks for two nights, at a cost to the state of $129 per night.
The luncheon took place before Palin's husband, Todd, finished fourth in the 2,000-mile Iron Dog snowmobile race, also in Fairbanks. The family greeted him at the finish line.
When Palin showed up at the luncheon with not just Piper but also Willow and Bristol, organizers had to scramble to make room at the main table, said Janet Bartels, who set up the event.
"When it's the governor, you just make it happen," she said.
The state is already reviewing nearly $17,000 in per diem payments to Palin for more than 300 nights she slept at her own home, 40 miles from her satellite office in Anchorage.
Tony Knowles, a Democratic former governor of Alaska who lost to Palin in a 2006 bid to reclaim the job, said he never charged the state for his three children's commercial flights or claimed their travel as official state business.
Knowles, who was governor from 1994 to 2002, is the only other recent Alaska governor who had school-age children while in office.
"There was no valid reason for the children to be along on state business," said Knowles, a supporter of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama. "I cannot recall any instance during my eight years as governor where it would have been appropriate to claim they performed state business."
Knowles said he brought his children to one NGA event while in office but didn't charge the state for their trip.
In February 2007, the three girls flew from Juneau to Anchorage on Alaska Airlines. Palin charged the state for the $519.30 round-trip ticket for each girl, and noted on the expense form that the daughters accompanied her to "open the start of the Iron Dog race."
The children and their mother then watched as Todd Palin and other racers started the competition, which Todd won that year. Palin later had the relevant expense forms changed to describe the girls' business as "First Family official starter for the start of the Iron Dog race."
The Palins began charging the state for commercial flights after the governor kept a 2006 campaign promise to sell a jet bought by her predecessor.
Palin put the jet up for sale on eBay, a move she later trumpeted in her star-making speech at the Republican National Convention, and it was ultimately sold by the state at a loss.
That left only one high-performance aircraft deemed safe enough for her to use — a 1980 twin-engine King Air assigned to the public safety agency but, according to flight logs, out of service for maintenance and repairs about a third of the time Palin has been governor.
I heard that McCain has asked the Russians if they would donate to his campaign, I find this to be funny on a couple of levels: 1st) McCain has been really harsh on the Russian lately about their recent events and activities, he has als been very outspoken about it. How could he in his right mind even think they would come to his aid, to me this just shows again that McCain is so far out of touch with what is going on around him as well as he does not appear to keep a solid train of thought about the issue at hand which he would be currently talking or debating about, he just seems to jump from one topic to another without any type of structure and I find him to be very hard to follow or keep up with his topics. Is he doing this on purpose in an effort to confuse the voters so much that he hopes they will some how think he has made his point, I can‘t believe he has that kind of foresight. 2nd) is he has been charging (without 1 ounce of proof) that Obama has been accepting donations from foreign countries, this really upset McCain to the point of bringing it up to the election commitee in an effort to get them to investgate his claim. I just don't understand how he can switch gears in such a wild and in my opinion unfocused manner and do it without even a blinkink. Look folks, he is screaming that Obama is getting these donations on the one side and asking for those same donations with the other, we have had 8 years of these types of two sided talking and look where it has brought us. Can we really afford 4 more years of these types of politics? I know this may not be the most mature way to describe what I see in the McCain / Palin ticket but it really does fit it so here it goes.
There was a series of movies made called the lord of the rings, in this movie was a character call Gollum. This poor figure became so obsessed with one thing it consumed him and ultimately destroyed him, it was a ring which he called his precious and he would forsaken everything to have it. I told you it was not a very mature way to describe McCain. I see this same obession in McCain, really just look at him, he spits out things that are not true, distorts other things to such a degree they no longer even resemble what was said , has flat out lied and charged that Obama has been the one running the negative adds all in an effort to become the president. So the presidency is McCains precious, he wants it, he needs it and he will do anything to get it.
Now Palin, This governor apparently has absolutely no guiding compass at all, I mean really, she has twisted the truth so much it don't resemble anything like to original topic, it's like the grapevine of Fox news and Rush Limball rolled into one terrible tabloid. She has continued to talk about how Obama is some type of terrorist and has beat that into the ground. She has caused people in he audience to shoot out things like “Kill Him” without stopping them from using that type of talk. It has been explained that she can not hear those words, I put it to you that it is because she does not want to and chooses to ignore them. On many occasions she has responded to people shouting to her and praising her so what is the difference I ask. She does not seem to have a need to speak the truth on any matter for that fact especially when it relates to her. She was found that she in fact broke the publics trust regarding the Public Safety Official yet seem to think se was found completely clear. That shows a complete detachment to truth and honesty, these are the actions of a person who pledge transparence in her administration. Now there seems to be some questions that her husband also set in on high level government meetings and stuck his nose into states business a complete violation of the states statue. One thing I also find very interesting is that while she had that complex built in Wasilla that same contractor who received the contract also built the Palins home at that same moment yet the records for the Palins home are fuzzy at best and not clear enough to confidently say it was not mixed into the same materials that were purchased for that hugs public building. Yes Gov. Palin we can see quite clearly how you differ from the persons and those quote “Good ol Boys“ and the politics as usual you swore to stop and name. Now Palin has the nerve to jump all over Joe Biden over something the McCain campaign has pulled out of context and what may in fact be an accidentally misstatement I mean really is this is coming from a person who could fill a 300 page book on what not to say or do during a presidential campaign. Palin is an opportunist and a dangerous on at that, I believe in freedom of speech, religion and our other freedoms we enjoy, I do not agree in some one forcing their views down my throat or shaping our judicial system in their image. I also have a big problem with someone in the white house who divides the United States into two groups, the first it the true Americans which share her views and belief and the others as anti Americans who think differently. Palin has come outright and stated that those who are with her and McCain are true patriotic Americans as well as those states that vote for them. This is also echoed by the campaign surrogates, so what we have is IF YOU ARE NOT WITH US THAN YOU ARE AGAINST US AND ARE NOT TRUE AMERICANS. That is a very dangerous thing and it insights violence. I live in Alaska and have seen first hand how uneven handed Palin is and what the rest of you are seeing doe not even scratch the surface. Please be prudent, be vigilant, listen to what she is saying, what she has said and most important what the people in her crowd are saying. Final thought is this Joe the Plumber thing, this guy asked loaded question when he spoke to Obama, after a fact check he did not currently have the means to buy his bosses business and it was never established his boss was even selling. The company was not making anywhere close to 250,000 dollars, he did not even have a journeymen’s or apprentice license and the final straw he was behind in his taxes. All of these major discrepancies did not seem to be an issue with the McCain / Palin ticket again it is just a baseless statement which they use to cloud the true issue. We are all Joe somebody and are Americans but it seems in certain parties eyes we are not all equal.
I am sorry this may seem kind of negative but I am feed up with all of the shenanigans of the McCain campaign as well as the RNC and how he has yet explained any of his plans to fix a damn thing. The GOP are even getting feed up with the McCain / Palin messages and stratigies, that tells me volumes
My name is Gordon Lee Cote of Anchorage Alaska and I invite, NO DARE McCain or Palin to call me un-American. I have some Straight Talk for the both of you. I am here, I plan to VOTE and I am not ALONE
