We have been through a lot together.
From the primaries, where we were tested to the bone. To the run up to the general election, now only 4 days away, where we have seen the worst of the worst.
This campaign has been the most inspiring experience I have ever had. From my childhood, living in Florida, where I saw the 'difference' between how one color lived from another, to the world I've traveled since, it is clear to me that on November 4, we have a chance to realize a dream. The choice is ours.
We have become a new family, formed for a common purpose. And through this journey, we have connected deeper than many of us may have ever thought. I've made friends with people in every state. (I've even eaten the foods of every state during my primary phonebanking.) What we have achieved thus far has never been seen before.
Not only have we reached out to each other, we have reached out to Americans all around the nation. We have been like mini-Barack's, calling and canvassing in multiple states - meeting people who have told us their stories. And, in that experience, we have been humbled.
This truly is a great nation.
For the last eight years, something went terribly wrong. The people were ignored. Our President and Vice President and their crew decided to put their own interests ahead of ours. And look where that has gotten us. Lives lost for nothing. Homes lost for nothing. Jobs lost for nothing. Billions of dollars wasted - for nothing. An economy driven by greed. Greed which spread like a cancer - and nearly killed us.
In 4 days, we can change all that.
In 4 days, we can begin the healing. We can restore the trust. We, the people, can once again feel we have a say in our country's future - which, is OUR future.
If we fail. If we do not do what we have to do over the next 4 days, then we will only have ourselves to blame. Our dreams, our hopes, our time and money spent, will have been wasted.
In these last 4 days, let's not leave anything to chance.
The choice for change is clear. And now we must make sure everyone makes that choice a reality on November 4.

i race marathons, biathlons, and bike races.
i remember one bike race where I was so far ahead i thought I had it in the bag. i started to cruise and lost it AT THE LINE to a racer who was slowly catching me by hiding around corners so I couldn't see him...
a race ENDS at the FINISH LINE...

There's a man and a boy running for President. I vote for the man.
You?
Stay focused - the bailout is going the way it should - our reps are discussing the issues, working it, and not letting it get rammed up our tushes. I think this back and forth is good - and will result in a better plan. There's a game being played here by Bush/Paulson/McCain - the 'do it now or else' game.. we saw this in Iraq... and look where that got us.
The markets will slide, but they will recover too. Don't get gamed by the 'gamblers of Washington.'
Obama has shown great leadership in bringing up a set of principles which protect regular middle class and working class citizens - and punishes those fatcats who got us in this mess.
It's good, people. It's good.

Yes, the Republicans, Bush/McCain, are the ones who deregulated our banking system to such an extent that the inherent greed was allowed to spread like a cancer.
But we have to move beyond that now - patch their error - then elect Obama and more Dems - and work on rebuilding our financial system so that greed is held in check.
Ambition is what America was built on. When ambition turns to greed, then we have a problem. That's what happened here.
Obama represents the best of American Ambition, while McCain/Bush represent the worst of it.
Obama helped shape the changes we are seeing in the bailout bill. If it weren't for Obama, we'd be giving away our savings to Paulson and his buddies in the investment banking world - who I also call: THE LOSERS.
I completely support Obama's position - and feel that without him, we would be in deep poop. Who else would have been able to support the middle class and fight for them on a NATIONAL and OPEN stage? No one. Obama showed us his leadership skills during this crisis.
Obama may have just won the election last night. Why? Because McCain never once looked at Obama or us out here watching. He never connected.
Obama, on the other hand, continually tried to make eye contact with McCain, and did a great job of connecting with us.
I've had several people mention this to me today...-kg+s+ :: an eye for an aye :: take action now :: !!
The best solution as I see it is to slow down this train... take it in phases, don't just dump 700 billion out there...
do a little, see if that helps, modify as needed. and, make sure:
1) taxpayers are protected
2) the crooks get punished
3) homeowners are helped
4) main street is supported
5) oversight is added
there is no RUSH to drop 700 billion in one shot. small steps and small corrections - not something all-or-nothing which is how children think.
I, too, feel that the economic situation is so dire that I will be suspending the following:
1) working
2) paying taxes
3) watching MSM (done)
4) cleaning the bathroom
5) driving
In addition, I was going to see a movie on Saturday night with my friend. I am hereby delaying that to a later date.
It is essential that I be focused on this situation at all times. I URGE the rest of you to pony up some "SUSPENSIONS" of your own...
There is no need to postpone the debate.
We do have a serious economic issue and both candidates should monitor the situation, but they should not suspend the election process. In fact, the election process allows for the discussion to take place WITH THE NATION, not just behind Washington doors.
McCain should realize that we are in the 21st Century and this thing called 'the internet' and 'cellphones' have advanced enough that people don't have to ride covered wagons back to Washington to know what's going on.
We are in the middle of the Katrina of economic hurricanes. Bush/McCain and gang saw it coming, but they just let it happen. God, do we need a change. They have led our nation like it was the Titanic - straight into this financial iceberg.
Make no mistake about it: This crisis is very serious. We are on the verge of a depression - yes, I said it, a depression. Many of us already can check out our home values on Zillow (http://www.zillow.com/) to see just how far our home values have fallen in just the last month. Others of us can look at our 401(k) accounts and see the massive losses there. Others are being foreclosed upon. Others are unable to afford gas. And sadly, others can't afford food. Yes, this is the real America we are living in now. Not the land of prosperity. Instead, we see our country as the land of greed and division.
From the start we said that Obama was about uniting our country and that our opponents were about dividing us up - into the haves and the have nots. And, now we see this coming to bare. Unfortunately, many Americans, myself included, are at serious risk to their well-being. Our livelihoods may just be going down the drain.
Right now, as Obama said today, this is not about politics. This is not about partisanship (as McCain is trying to make it). This is not even just about Wall Street - and saving the asses of those wealthy bastards that ran this country into the toilet. This is about Main Street - and what we mean by Main Street is you, me. Us.
Obama was right from the very beginning. He is right today. He has not wavered from his stance. In the slog of a politics of distraction, Obama has stood tall - stood calm, fought back as needed - and today, we, all of us, see that he was right.
It's time for us to work together now, throw down politics, and make damn sure that the people who got us into this are punished and the little people, called the middle class and the working class, are not taken, once again, for granted. Because we are about to, all of us, take on possibly 1 trillion dollars in debt in order to save our country. And when we do this, we, not McCain, will be the true American heroes this time around.

US:Lilly, Hillary, Michelle, Jill, Claire, Kathleen, Janet, Wasserman, Susan, Nancy, Geraldine and millions of other great women across the nation!THEM:Palin, Fiorina. Cindy. STOP.
'nuff said....
Obama is right.
This is not time to play politics with the livelihood of middle class/working class folks like us. McCain wants to use the economic crisis he helped create as a political issue and attack, attack, attack. He doesn't give a crap about us, he cares about only one person: McCain.
Senator McCain: STOP MESSING WITH MY LIVELIHOOD! YOU ARE STRANGLING ME!
