Since the LA Times has already admitted that they have a video that shows Barack Obama speaking about his friendship with a known terrorist, it should be released!
However, what should also be noted is that John McCain ALSO has ties to the same terrorist, through work HE did for the man in the 1990's!
The longer it takes for this tape to be released, the more likely it is that folks that might have voted for Obama will either stay home, or switch their vote to John McCain. I have no doubt that the McCain campaign waited until less than a week before the election intentially!
Let's not let them win this time!!!

I come home this evening, and my Mother is watching Headline News...and I am listening to this idiot Glenn Beck, who has the two folks talking about how Obama is some how fascist! However, that is not the part that troubles me the most, for it is clear that their use of terms like "Welfare State" and "Reparations" that they are being wholly and totally racist...and for some reason this is perfectly fine!
Oh, wait. Here's the best one. According to these learned scholars, the reason Obama wants to tax the rich, is to make up for what happened to "them" "a hundred years ago"!

We are in a "state of panic" over Gov. Sarah Palin, because she has governed "the largest state in the union". Of course that would mean that we would have to ignore the fact that her particular sate also has the least amount of people! Never the less, she is somehow qualified to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency...because she can "field dress a Moose"!

I think it is mighty interesting and rather satisfying that the Republican Convention is being scaled back because a Hurricane is headed for Louisiana/Alabama, and I pray that this time, they will get it right; bur I sincerely hope that they do not believe for one second that this will erase the sin that is the way this same area was treated in the past!

To Barack and Michelle Obama, as well as a few other folks on this board. Because of you I finally decided that the time was now to pursue my goals, and finally go back to complete my Bachelors degree AND go forward to Graduate School! In fact, I just got my Acceptance Letter TODAY!!
Yes I have a ton of Student Loan debt already outstanding, but if I don't finally do what I am destined to do, I will NEVER be able to pay back those loans. Now, it would be nice if Democratic Nominee Obama was able to see his way clear to do something to help those of us that are saddled with a mountain of Student Loan debt; but I have already decided that I am going to be more proactive, stop whining about it, and get the debt payed off no matter what!
Oh, and an added bonus would be if I could get my PhD at an ivy league school...and truly piss off folks like Pat Buchanan - you know, another Black person with an advanced degree that should have gone to a White person- but we'll see when the time comes!

Even though I knew today's roll call was coming, I was still in tears when it happened. Never in my LIFE did I think I would live to see a Black man as the dominee of ANY party, and I am so glad that I am alive to witness this moment in history.
However, I hope that people remember that this is not only a moment in time for Black people, but for ALL ethnic minorities in this country. Today, the doors of opportunity swung wide open, and gave us ALL a reason to dream the biggest and best dreams imaginable! We ARE good enough, and we darn well ARE smart enough, and we CAN do what we set our minds to do!
And one last thing? The beautiful, intelligent, confident Michelle Obama's picture should be on the wall of every little girl and young woman who will never look like the women in the fashion magazines. You see, you don't have to look like those women to be beautiful, and she proves it!

As I go through the Blogs the last day or two, I am noticing something interesting. It seems the third wave of HRC supporters have managed to make their way to our community...just so that they can let us know that they can't support Obama!
It's actually pretty interesting in that although I don't support Senator McCain, I also don't spend time on his site trying to make sure every supporter he has knows it, so what truly is the purpose of these die hard HRC supporters anyway?
I guess only THEY truly know!!
As an aside, I don't often agree with Micheal Moore, but in this case he is making a lot of sence!
A blueprint for losing the most winnable presidential election in American history

For years now, nearly every poll has shown that the American people are right in sync with the platform of the Democratic Party. They are pro-environment, pro-women's rights and pro-choice. They don't like war. They want the minimum wage raised, and they want a single-payer universal health-care system. The American public agrees with the Republican Party on only one major issue: They support the death penalty.
So you would think the Democrats would be cleaning up, election after election. Obviously not. The Democrats appear to be professional losers. They are so pathetic in their ability to win elections, they even lose when they win! So when you hear Democrats and liberals and supporters of Barack Obama say they are worried that John McCain has a good chance of winning, they ain't a-kidding. Who would know better than the very people who have handed the Republicans one election after another on a silver platter? Yes, be afraid, be very afraid.
In an effort to help the party doofuses and pundits — and the candidate himself — spare all of us another suicide-inducing election night, as the results giving the election to the Republican pour in, here is the blueprint from the Democrats' past losing campaigns. Just follow each of these steps and you, the Democratic Party establishment, can help elect John Sidney McCain III to a four-year extension of the Bush Era.
1. Keep saying nice things about McCain.If you want to help elect McCain, keep blessing him as if he were the white knight who accidentally hopped on the wrong horse. Keep reminding a country at war that he, and he alone, is a war hero. That he's been "good on global warming" and campaign finance. Say that enough, and you know what happens? People start to believe it! You've sold them on the idea that McCain isn't a bad egg, and they do not hear the rest of what you have to say: "But John McCain is four more years of George W. Bush."
Don't remind people that McCain wants to help the oil companies even more than Bush did. Don't bring up that he wants to outlaw abortion. Back away from painting him as the guy who thinks it's a good idea to stay in Iraq until pigs fly. That way, if you keep praising him, you can send a mixed message to the less informed, who are simply not going to figure it out. When they walk into a voting booth, they will see two names on the ballot:

Trust me, this ain't Sweden you're living in. War Hero wins every time.
2. Pick a running mate who is a conservative white guy or a general or a Republican.Yes, it will seem like smart politics at first. Shore up Obama's lack of military experience with a hawk. Be true to Obama's message that he'll be a president for everybody by having him run with a Republican. Make a pitch to the purple states of Virginia and Indiana by putting one of their own on the ticket. Or make the red state of Ohio happy by handing the vice presidential slot to its governor. Just so long as Obama's running mate screams "same old, same old," making it harder for him to attract the new voters he needs to win.
There is nothing wrong with picking someone who can help him win a swing state or someone who has more experience than he does in certain areas. But when I hear pundits say things like, "He has to pick a Catholic," well, John Kerry was a total Catholic, and the Catholic vote went to Mr. W. I mean, here's one of the largest groups in the country — 66 million Catholics — and they/we have only allowed one Catholic to be president in 219 years. You would think they would have been flocking to Kerry in 2004. THAT IS NOT THE WAY PEOPLE THINK. IT IS THE WAY PUNDITS THINK. Keep listening to them and you can help elect John McCain the next President of the United States.
You know, I really like Gov. Kathleen Sebelius; and I really, REALLY like Gov. Bill Richardson. But I think I could easily get behind Joe Biden for VP!

Earlier today a woman posting from Astoria, NY posted, amoung other things, some serious bunk that compared Obama's and McCain's tax policies. I said that the fime if I had the time I would post the truth, and here it is from FactCheck.org:

Catharsis? Deciding to have a vote that will in her estimation (and that of her more rabid supporters) make her the nominee, and this will somehow give catharsis to her supporters?
What about Obama's supporters? You know, the at least 18 million voters who put him over the top in caucuses AND primary votes? do we not count at all?

I really don't want to see HRC's reported VP choice to be Obama's VP choice, as I think there are folks that would serve him far better; most notably Gov. Bill Richardson, with his experience as a diplomat, and the fact that he was able to balance the budget in the state of New Mexico, AND bring in new jobs!

This is a repost from last month, but I still think these things are important:
1) Ending all tax breaks for American businesses that are moving jobs overseas.
Folks, we are not simply talking about blue collar jobs going to India and China, but also high paying High Tech jobs. I was recently part of a small software company that was purchased by a much larger company, that promised to keep the employees. Within months, an entire department was let know that not only where being layed off, but they had 7 months to train the folks that would be taking over their jobs...in Rome, Italy!
Since then even more were laid off, including myself in February and April, and eight more found out they also would be laid off, but this time with two months notice!
Because I had time before my lay off, I had time to talk to other's who had been working for the larger company, and found out that what had happened to us, was the norm not the exception. In fact I talked to two other folks who's jobs were being moved to Brazil!
You see, we spend so much time worrying about India getting call center jobs, or China taking over manufacturing, but Europe and South America are being allowed to take away the jobs that pay far higher. This has got to stop!
2) Student loan debt. There are many people who found themselves in the same situation as me. I left college in 2001...before 9/11, but I had not graduated. I had been having some personal difficulties, and felt it best that I work for a year, then go back and finish. Unfortunately, the stock market crashed, I lost my job, and spent the better part of a year looking for a job. When I did finally find one, it paid far less than what I had been making, and I could not afford to pay my loans, and let the Government know. Because of some snafu, they simply kept piling on the interest, until the amount I was going to have to pay per month was so high, I simply could not afford it.
It took nearly three years for me to get back on my feet and by then, because of the interest, the amount I owed had nearly doubled! By now my credit was completely shot, and I had already lost a job opportunity because of it.
Long story short, I reconsolidated by loans, but still was not able to pay more than the interest on my loans, leaving a very hefty principle. To top it all off, I would love to be able to go back and finish my degree, but because I now owe so much, I am ineligible for aid, so the money will have to come out of my own pocket. As a single parent, I am not sure how I am going to make that happen.
My loans were not the high interest loans that have become popular the last five years or so, but loans through the Federal Government!
I would like to see our candidate not only make things easier for those who are young and just starting college, but also do something to help those of us that are being crippled by the amount of interest that has been added onto our loans, because we could not pay.
I am not a rap fan, although I do listen some rap music, and I have to ask you...why? Why did you feel the need to release your latest ditty KNOWING that it would effect Barack Obama?
The man spoke about how he had respect for you and your talent, yet you felt the need to talk some serious smack in your lyrics this close to the election? Leaving me to wonder...are you suffering from Jesse Jacsonities, in that you like the idea of a Black President, your just mad because it ain't you?

Today’s Daily News reports on an Obama-trashing e-mail ricocheting around the Internet, which is signed by a soldier who allegedly saw the Democratic candidate in Afghanistan. It sparked a fierce partisan debate across the blogosphere yesterday over its authenticity. The e-mail certainly appeared at first to be a budding Snopes classic. Websites posting the soldier’s screed attributed it to an officer from the Army, Marines or Air Force - a sure sign of a fake, right?
The News reported it wasn’t actually a hoax letter - though the military officially disputes the e-mail’s factual accuracy. The original poster attributed the message to an anonymous Air Force officer in the hope it would give the author, a Utah Army National Guard intelligence officer, some cover. But the Army captain’s wife had already forwarded it to others who posted the e-mail in full with the couple’s names.
In his e-mail (read the full text after the jump), the Task Force Wasatch “battle captain” beefed about the Illinois senator supposedly breezing into Bagram Airfield this week and blowing off G.I.s on his way to a staged photo-op to play basketball.
“I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States. I just don’t understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country,” the captain wrote.
Now the Bagram captain is dialing back, having signed the viral e-mail with his name, rank and unit - a possible violation of military regulations barring political statements. This morning, he sent The Mouth a new statement (punctuation corrected):
“I am writing this to ask that you delete my email and not forward it. After checking my sources, information that was put out in my email was wrong. This email was meant only for my family. Please respect my wishes and delete the email and if there are any blogs you have my email portrayed on I would ask if you would take it down too. Thanks for your understanding.”
An Army officer familiar with the incident told The Mouth today that the writer is “devastated that the letter was made public. It was never his intention that it go beyond members of his family.”

Hello everyone,
As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to ‘The War Zone’. I wanted to share with you what happened. He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram.
As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn’t say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished,
the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service.
So really he was just here to make a showing for the American’s back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you.
