We need to be ready to combat the negative talk about Obama. One of the criticisms that we are hearing is the charge that he's inexperienced. Even Dems who seem to want to support Obama are saying that the country is in such grave danger that we can't afford a guy who will need on-the-job training.
Here's what we can say to counter this critique:
1. Did anyone accuse a one-time governor of Texas as too inexperienced when he was running for President? (Though in retrospect maybe they should have!) Members of the US Senate get a great deal more foreign policy experience than governors and mayors.
2. Check Obama's Senate record, he's a moderate, something that most of us are looking for right now. He has sponsored 152 bills and resolutions and cosponsored 427 - sounds like a hard worker to me.
3. At this time in our history, do we really want someone who is deeply entrenched in Washington politics? I know I don't!
4. Talk about what you like best about Obama. I especially like his sincerity and intelligence, something that we have been lacking in our leaders!
