"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself," said Franklin D. Roosevelt. But was he right? I know that he could have not ever imagined as President of the United States how relevant his quote would be today when it came to one of the most critical issues that the nation is facing. Healthcare is something that everyone should have and have rights to. There are so many diseases, disorders, illnesses, ailments, psychoses, and other sicknesses that affect the human body out in the world. We all know that they each need treatments and more importantly, cures.
Every American deserves the best in quality and affordable medical care. It is amazing that the health plans that members of Congress and our troops receive transcend what we, the people receive. It has been said at one point during this debate that "the troops deserve far better healthcare than average citizens because there are no sacrifices on the part of citizens." Of course, I disagree. I understand that the troops go overseas and sacrifice their lives for our nation which I appreciate but what about the everyday heroes? Mothers, Fathers, Policemen, Firemen, Community Leaders...These are average citizens who put their lives on the line within our borders for the sake of the others. Each set of these heroes may sacrifice in different ways but they put their whole lives and energies into keeping our nation alive from within. You can't go somewhere and sacrifice your life for something if that something does not exist. It still has to be there.
The betterment of a nation is only as healthy as its citizens, its people. As a nation, we are not as healthy as we could be. Cancer of Every Body Part Imaginable, Heart Disease, Diabetes, AlDS, Alzheimer's Disease, Lukemia, and everything else that you see a nonprofit linked to for the sake of finding treatments and cures are our diagnoses as a nation. That's right. We are sick. We are not fit. I don't care how many supermodels and bodybuilders you see. The real America is not well. Sickness hits everybody whether you are skinny and hit the gym everyday or you are obese and eating out of depression. Disease and sickness can strike you at anytime in any way regardless of you being a goody two shoes or a criminal mastermind.
The great equalizer is a three word definition of death and as much as I would like life to be just the same, it is evident that there are people who choose death over life as they would choose fear over fight. I'm not talking about all because I don't think that it's all. However, Republicans and Conservatives care more about their political reputation and theocratic principles/dreams for America than they do about the American people's health. It's sad to see fellow Americans follow traps instead of facts and evil instead of good.
Disrupting town hall meetings for the sake of disrupting discussions on this crucial issue of our nation is something that should not be tolerated. Lynching jokes at town hall meetings and displays of Democratic senators and congressmen being lynched should not be tolerated. Hand painted signed of innocent politicians being religious villians should not be tolerated. Lying to the American public about what is in the bill should not be tolerated. Organizing bus loads of people to go be evil at town hall meetings should not be tolerated. Posing death threats towards our Democratic senators and congressmen should not be tolerated. It is high time that our President Barack Hussein Obama say ENOUGH!!
This is not a joke and it is not a game. It is sad that we have not learned our lessons from the Economic Crises. The private sector is not perfect by any means and it is a most evident fact today. Our private sector sucks more than anything else. The richer is only getting richer and the poor is only getting poorer. The middle is only getting more and more stuck. The private sector is not the hero. They are the enemy. Look at the business world and see how rotten it really is. Where's the integrity? Where's the healthy competition? Where's the innovation? Where's the quality of product, service, and operation? Where's the ethics, values, responsibility, accountability? What business philosophy are they really following? Gone are the days of the customer being worth more to a business than the CEO and great products/services being worth more than the money made. I keep saying it but it's sad, depressing. De-regulation has created the monster that is hurting the nation on all fronts.
Companies are using millions of dollars to negatively impact policy that could actually help the nation. Millions of dollars are going to bus load town hall meeting disruptions, scare tactics on tv and radio, spreading lies and untruths on tv and radio, as well as racist undertones in trying to kill the debate and the legislation. My point in all of this is that President Obama needs to step up and say something serious. Serious message, not long boring lecture. He needs to stop the madness out there. As Democrats, we have put up with 8 long years of crap from Republicans and Conservatives. Crap. Crap.
We, Democrats and Liberals, have never, ever done the things that they are doing. Never. 8 long years of Bush. Do you know what it would have been like if the shoe was on the other foot where Republicans and Conservatives were seeing displays of their Congressmen lynched, hearing that they were getting death threats, and their town hall meetings were getting disrupted? No one would ever hear the end of it. It's one thing for them to debate the topic civilly but it's another to be barbaric about it. This must change and the President must command it because our olive branches of bi-partisanship keeps being declined.
After all of this blogging, volunteering, calling, canvassing, rallying, commercial showings, button, t-shirt and cap wearing, marching, debate watching, sign holding for cars to honk in support, among other things, it has come down to this....THE VOTES OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. We are on the Eve of the Change That We All Need. Excitement should be more than in the air.
The key to getting the 270 Electoral Votes that Barack Obama needs to become the 44th President of the United States of America is to Vote. Vote for Barack Obama for me. Vote for Barack Obama for yourself. Vote for Barack Obama for your Families. Vote for Barack Obama for everybody else's Families. Vote for Barack Obama for our Seniors. Vote for Barack Obama for our Tax Cuts. Vote for Barack Obama for a better Economy. Regardless of your reason for voting for Barack Obama, I am asking you to vote.
By 8pm tomorrow, my vote shall be cast and I am excited about it. IT WILL BE FOR BARACK OBAMA & JOE BIDEN. I have tons of reasons as to why I went from Undecided to Voting for this ticket. I am confident that Barack Obama and Joe Biden will clean up the mess that President George Bush, Jr. and Vice-President Dick Cheney has left behind. I am confident that Barack Obama and Joe Biden will shake hands with their opponents and encourage them to work in the cause to unify and heal our nation. I am confident that in 4 years, under an Obama-Biden administration, we will be in a better place regardless of how many promises they would have accomplished and goals achieved.
I am confident in having an Administration with Barack Obama and Joe Biden that will help the world become a more peaceful place with respect to our nation being restored and being great examples of how Foreign Affairs should be handled. Barack Obama will prove many wrong about his ability to be Commander-In-Chief by being an Excellent One. He will learn alot and work towards our safety and security in ways that will ensure the nations of the world are challenged to take better care of themselves let along each other where there is fair treatment.
As in this nation, we are all intertwined in the world. Our economy is becoming more global. Our businesses are becoming more global. Our world is on the brink of revolutionizing itself again. There may be war and there may not be war. However, it is our reality that we all have to work together to not have few dictate millions. Barack Obama and Joe Biden understands this. As citizens, we must do so as well. It is time for our world to be held accountable as much as the nation.
Our story in the 21st Century needs to be that our nation experienced progress and unity in the years of 2008-2012 and hopefully, 2012-2016. A story where our nation became a Real 21st Century nation. Let us take a chance on a President who is about Stepping Up and not sitting down. John McCain, if elected, will be sitting down instead of stepping up. Being a President of the United States is more than just sitting down and being comfortable. It is about accepting the challenge and call to the cause of freedom.
No American President is Perfect and No American President can be All Things To All People. However, Barack Obama and Joe Biden is going to know this more than anything else. They will be champions and advocates for the middle and lower classes. They will be champions for environmental responsibility and real energy independence that will bring the "green collar" worker to existence and livelihood. They will set the stage for a better America.
Also, our First Lady, Michelle Obama is going to change the face of what it means to be a Real First Lady of the United States of America. She shall have a platform and work hard to ensure that the rights of women and families are upheld. She will show that a First Lady is not just somebody to look at but somebody to be inspired by and respected. She will take this seriously from Day #1. Barack Obama will also take his Presidency seriously from Day #1 with all of us on his mind day in and day out.
As you can tell, I love to write. However, this is not talking points or rhetoric written down. It's FACT. This nation needs to go Blue tomorrow. Barack Obama, if elected, will be the 15th Democratic President ever to exist in the history of the nation. Barack Obama, if elected, will be the 1st African-American and Bi-Racial President of the United States. Barack Obama will be the 1st President of the United States originating from Hawaii. Barack Obama could be elected by states that either have Never or Not In A Very Long Time elected a Democrat to the presidency before. The further Diversity of the Cabinet, as qualified as well as with evidence of strong performance and positive contribution, will happen in the Obama-Biden Administration. The Supreme Court will be balanced out.
We have a lot to gain from having an Obama-Biden Administration that we would not get if John McCain and Sarah Palin were elected. That's real. So, it's time for the nation to go Blue. Vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden!! Put them to work for us!!
I have been writing about the McCain-Palin Strategy for the last couple of posts and there is another component that I am taking issue with so much that it had to receive its own post. This component of the strategy may hit on other components of this strategy but this is something that even I can identify with on a personal level. It is the Re-Definition of Barack Obama.
Now, this component can be dated back to the Democratic Primaries, as we all know from the characters of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Tony Rezko, and William Ayers to the entities such as Acorn and Fannie Mae-Freddie Mac. It is amazing how John McCain with Sarah Palin in his corner works so hard without sleeping to re-define whom Barack Obama is. As Americans, all of us should be raising red flags here because a lot of us on a personal level can identify with Barack Obama.
Personally, I have been there. I know what it is like for people to attempt to redefine me by twisting every word that I say, trying to act like they know me and my record better than I know my own self and my own record, and using every trick in the book to defeat me and what I hold dear. I may be a college student and young adult but I do know what it is like. Barack Obama actually understands what is going on and it is my hope that he uses his closing arguments to defend himself strong against the opposition.
First of all, Taxes. The whole “redistribution of wealth thing.” John McCain and Sarah Palin are using their final hours of arguments to drive their faultiness home. How many people making over $250,000 or businesses profiting over $250,000 are really about job creation? I mean, really? How many “help wanted” signs are you seeing right now? John McCain is betting on shaky ground that job creation is as simple as keeping things the same, keeping taxes the same. Barack Obama is looking to cut and lower taxes on people and businesses that need the most relief. If you are doing fine and don’t need a tax cut, then why should you or your business get one?
Taxes have been cut and getting annually lower for those who don’t need that. However, the economy is crumbling and people are losing their homes. Our roads and bridges are not sturdy. We are behind the times in the world. I do not see how this makes any sense. If jobs were not created during all these years of taxes being low and what not as John McCain claims, then why are we having an economic crisis? Why are people losing their jobs? Why was it left up to businesses such as the banks and insurance companies without enforced regulations or regulations at all to keep our economy from going into oblivion? Why was this nation simply told after terrorism crises to “go out and shop?”
Raising taxes to the maximum point of where they were under a prosperous time with the administration of President Bill Clinton on those who would still be rich and successful regardless of an economic crisis or not, makes sense. Yes, the economy is slow but why should the rich people get richer and not guarantee job creation while the middle remains stuck and the poor gets poorer? Why depend on a private sector that is on shaky ground as it is? Businesses, large and small, are not all perfect which is why most struggle and less actually stay around. John McCain will be an advocate for more De-Regulation if elected. We all know this.
John McCain will be for New Taxes if elected. We all know his healthcare plan where he taxes workers and leave healthcare to the faulty private sector of insurance companies. Oh, and let’s not forget the “hatchet and voucher, then freeze” plans of John McCain. He may want us to live on a budget. Question is…What budget? John McCain and Sarah Palin plan on balancing the budget. Again, what budget? If you plan to hatchet earmarks, social security, medicad/medicare, and everything else, how are you going to spend money?
John McCain says that he will freeze spending except on defense, veteran affairs, and buying up bad mortgages. There is nothing for education, energy, resolving immigration issues, and everything else that is important to Americans. That proposal to “drill now?” Not going to happen. Real small businesses? Nothing. Big businesses and corporations? Goodies like more tax cuts. In addition, it has been said from numerous sources that the spending of John McCain will outweigh that of Barack Obama relative to the deficit. How? Well, those three areas are his focus. Also, there is the healthcare plan components where John McCain says that he will give tax credits to people as a means to afford a faulty healthcare plan where insurance companies can profit off of you most and not be obligated to give you the best care. Question. If John McCain is going to hatchet, voucher, and freeze the national budget, how do you suppose he is going to cut taxes and balance the budget? How do you suppose that we would be a 21st century nation at the end of this period of 4 years?
I just saw the informercial on this website for the first time. I was at an evening class on my university campus when it was on television so I was so mad that I missed it the first time that it aired. My feelings about going from Undecided to this ticket continues to intensify with every waking moment. Daily, as I wear my Obama-Biden and America's First Family pins to class, I am realizing how important this election is to not only my life but also my family and my nation.
Those who are still Undecided as I once was need to watch this informercial. Barack Obama running for the President of our nation is not a "political power move" for him. It is actually about us, as Americans and citizens, making a positive difference in not only the lives of ourselves but each other. We are One nation regardless of race, worldview, religion, secular, families, individuals, parties, big and small business. We are all one nation. We have to work together to make ourselves better than we are and this nation better than it is. It's not Rhetoric or Talking Points. It's Fact.
John McCain has not called at all, not even once, for us to help ourselves and work inspite of our differences to unite as One people. All John McCain has asked for us to do is Fight. Fight?! I don't want to fight. I want to live. I want to heal. I want to be a better me and help my nation be better. I want to graduate from college, pay off my loans, have a secured and great career. I want to at least be a solid middle class citizen having a decent life. I am not looking for a fight but I won't back down from one neither. I have read John McCain's plan. Line by line, page by page. The man has NOTHING, NOTHING. He has faulty, uncertainty, speculative, unclear plans for our nation. There is nothing solid about that plan. It doesn't even state anything about the problems that are nation is actually facing and how he would actually align his plans in really focusing on resolving them.
I am telling you all. If John McCain wins, we will be one nation divided. It's a guarantee. It's a promise. How about you mark my words, John McCain and Sarah Palin? John McCain will divide the nation if he is elected. We will go in the direction of oblivion. There is no doubt about it. It will be 4 more years of failed policy that we will have to endure and deal with. I don't want that. I seriously do not want that for myself or my fellow citizens. Helping each other out by sacrificing for the greater good of our nation, whether you are paying a little more in taxes to fix the bridges that keep crumbling and killing people everyday, give relief to families who endured the hurricanes, or to demand that our nation has better and well-rounded education for its youth is not "welfare."
If I was rich, I would not mind paying more taxes. I would not have wanted a tax break. If I had a small business where I was profiting and pocketing more than $250,000 a year, I would live on a budget not minding the fact that I would want to ensure that there is proper healthcare for my workers. I don't want them taxed to get healed especially if they are great workers and help the business progress. Trust. It is far cheaper to retain quality employees to stop the turnover rate and offer job security than it is to go constantly searching for people to train. As needed, small businesses should improve to become bigger than they are and ensure more job openings anyway. Then again, I am just talking for myself but I actually give a damn about my nation as much as I do myself.
It is imperative that we get the change that we need by voting for a President that will set the example, continue to change the status quo where government is held accountable to ensure that they are serving and not coasting while in office, and propel us all into actually becoming a 21st century nation. I don't care about, John McCain, what you have done in the past and who you know. I care about what you are actually going to do. Barack Obama knows what he is going to do. He knows how he is going to improve himself by learning from his past to become a great President and leader of tomorrow. He is going to be the champion and advocate for the middle class, uphold our civil rights, and ensure that we are kept safe and secure.
I have cousins in the military and they have served this nation for years. They live in Georgia and so I take this seriously. I also had an uncle who retired from the army now living in California after over 20 years of service. Therefore, I understand. Barack Obama has it right that no family members should be put in harms way as soldiers unless it is wisely considered, planned, and have a set mission of accomplishment in restoring our nation to a respectable standing as well our world to a peaceful settlement as call to the cause of freedom. Going to war carelessly and frivolously is not right and not just.
Staying in Iraq is just plain wrong when the leadership of that nation has had all of this time in the world to get itself together to be properly structured to serve its own people. It is time for us to leave but keep in touch. There are far more dangerous parts of the world that are pending to destroy the world that must be addressed. I can go on and on but after watching this informercial or short documentary, it only solidifies why I left the Undecided column and am voting for this ticket.
It's time to unite and mobilize this nation with our votes for Barack Obama and Joe Biden. November 4th!! Wait in line, bring all IDs, bring water and snacks, bring portable chairs, etc. Rain, Shine, Sleet, or Snow. Bundle up, have an umbrella if necessary. Carpool our Seniors. Carpool fellow college students. Ride the transit bus. Bring your medicine with you to take if it is on the clock. There is no excuse. We must vote in large numbers for The Change That We Need.
The 11th component of the New Strategy of John McCain and Sarah Palin is to use analogy tactics to make it seem like there is some overconfidence on this ticket. For example, John McCain has said on several occasions that “Barack Obama is measuring the drapes and the media, as usual, has written us off.” Um, no. Barack Obama is not “measuring the White House drapes.” He understands that every vote of every American citizen is important because it is the American citizens who need the right change for themselves and their nation. Obama works hard with his wife, the Clintons, Vice-Presidential candidate Joe Biden, his wife Jill Biden, and others to make the American people understand who the Real Underdog is. Barack Obama is the real underdog.
Now, to continue with this same strategy analysis, Sarah Palin has even chimed in on it with her little chihuahua voice to try to make a basketball analogy. She said that “they both play basketball but she knows that you don’t cut down the net in victory before the game is over.” She also said that she read, “In the New York Times, that Barack Obama had already written his inauguration speech.” Now, we all know that this is not true. How much time does she really think that Barack Obama has to do that even if he wanted to? Barack Obama canvasses with volunteers in neighborhoods. Barack Obama is making phone calls with volunteers at headquarter offices. Barack Obama is on the campaign trail speaking to people about the issues plaguing this nation and how he has real resolutions to solve them. Barack Obama is calling home to see how his grandmother and other are doing. Barack Obama is checking in on his daughters to see if everything is well with them. He is speaking with people on Capitol Hill as he is still a senator. What pipe has Sarah Palin been smoking?
The 12th component of the New Strategy of John McCain and Sarah Palin is to concentrate on where Barack Obama has never been, ever done, or ever gone. Again, I feel that this is an ageism argument and that is not right. John McCain has gone on record saying that, “Barack Obama does not understand the plight and issues of states in the West. Barack Obama has never been south of the border so he does not know what I know.” Well, I am from a state in the West. What John McCain does not understand is that just because you have been somewhere or lived somewhere for a long time does not prove anything.
You could have been somewhere or lived somewhere for a long time and still don’t know a damn thing about the issues plaguing the people of that place or know the plight of the people there. Barack Obama may not have had the money and time like John McCain to go to Mexico or take a vacation in California, Nevada, Arizona, or Washington but that does not mean that he will not represent our states along with every other state well as President. Speaking as a citizen of the West going to college in the East, Barack Obama is the real thing. He understands our issues and our plight as Westerners. Don’t let John McCain fool you especially since he has 7 houses, 12 cars, and rich wife in addition to a decent salary being a Senator. I mean, Barack Obama is willing to give us the same healthcare option that John McCain and himself gets as Senators. What is John McCain willing to give us that he gets? I think we’re still waiting for an answer on that one.
There’s more to come people. Guaranteed. Don’t believe the hype. Fight back with your votes so the Electoral Map goes blue.
My First Lady, Michelle Obama, said it best when she made clear that, “this election is not over until it’s over.” Barack Obama is the underdog and in no place is the evidence more clear than all that he has endured as well as all of the odds that are stacked against him. John McCain, Sarah Palin, their campaign supporters, endorsers, and allies are not sleeping. They are not sleeping. They are hard at work developing strategies and looking for any bait to latch on to so that they can push their faulty argument and stances on us as voters. This is why it is important for us all to fight back with our Votes.
In 10 days, we must make it our responsibility and obligation to make John McCain and Sarah Palin sit on pins and needles as state after state turns Blue on the Electoral College map. School may have been kicking my butt because of all the work I have to do but I want to try to at least once make some phone calls, volunteer, or whatever for this campaign. We must work extremely hard to stand firm against John McCain, Sarah Palin, their campaign supporters, endorsers, and allies. We must stand strong and firm against them.
The New Strategy that they have is crystal clear. Our VP candidate, Joe Biden, has brought National Security back into the spotlight. It is okay though. It is time to make the case and defend ourselves against the attacks that Barack Obama is not qualified enough to be Commander-In-Chief and keep us safe. The truth is that Barack Obama can and will keep us safe and handle any international crises that may come his way as President.
The 2nd component of John McCain and Sarah Palin’s new strategy is to continue to popularize “Joe the Plumber” who is actually looking into running for a state government position of Ohio in 2010. He is planning to ride his butt all of the way to the finish line to spread the word about his faulty and phony tax cuts. Barack Obama needs to get across that John McCain wants to introduce New Taxes especially relative to healthcare where employees, workers of America would be paying a new tax to receive a faulty credit that will not pay for anything.
The 3rd component of John McCain and Sarah Palin’s new strategy is to tie Barack Obama to President George Bush, Jr. Now, we all know that this crap and the stench can be smelled from a mile of away. It’s time for voters to see right through this and Barack Obama to tell John McCain, get real. Barack Obama’s policy ideas and proposals are not in anyway relative to that of President George Bush, Jr. John McCain is the George Bush’s twin. He was and is endorsed by President Bush. President Bush and his wife voted absentee for John McCain. SNL even got it right in the spoof that they did about him that when you enter the voting booth, you should think that John McCain = George Bush.
The 4th component of the John McCain and Sarah Palin’s new strategy in the final days is to hit home the faulty experience argument. Personally, I find this to be a form of ageism more than anything else. John McCain, Sarah Palin, their campaign supporters, endorsers, and allies keeps saying that “if we elect Barack Obama to the Presidency, we will be electing someone who has no experience, no record, and is naïve.” There are many “Let Freedom Ring” and “Right Change.com” ads circulating in Florida (that I know of) that bash Barack Obama. There are a lot of people who are out there bashing his experience and record. It’s just amazing to me, and I hope that you agree, that John McCain, Sarah Palin, their campaign supporters, endorsers, and allies have the audacity, arrogance, and vigor to believe that they know Barack Obama and Joe Biden better and more than they even know themselves. Have you notice that? Sarah Palin said in a recent interview that she has “more executive experience than Barack Obama.” Of course, I find this hard to believe but again, even if she does, it does not prove anything. You can have all of the experience in the world and still not know what you are doing. You can have all of the experience in the world and still have no plan of resolution for a nation or a company. All in all, it’s just high time to see right through this mess and let Barack Obama and Joe Biden defend themselves against such nonsense in these final days of the campaign.
The 5th component of the New Strategy that John McCain and Sarah Palin has is throwing bombs of terms that are used to undermine the intelligence of the American people. “Socialist, terrorist, communist, Barack Obama’s middle name Hussein,” etc. It is a code of terminology that raises eyebrows and subliminally gets at the core of people. In addition, they are throwing out the “underdog” term, which is a faulty stance in this election. It is true with Barack Obama but false with John McCain. Barack Obama should make that crystal clear in these final days how he is the real underdog in this election and not John McCain. This why our votes are the most important thing we need to do and accomplish in this election to cross the finish line strong to get Barack Obama and Joe Biden to become President and Vice-President-Elect.
The 6th component of the New Strategy that John McCain and Sarah Palin are implementing lies with popular news and other television show appearances. This is a series of interviews collectively or individually that they are using to get more exposure so that they can be seen and heard. That’s all well and good but it is more opportunities for bashing Barack Obama more than anything else. It is not to present anything new or to get across any real plans to help Americans. It is to simply bash Barack Obama and brag about themselves. Barack Obama should do a couple of interviews on shows like Meet the Press and Larry King Live that appeals to some independent and undecided voters in these final days. It could be another platform in which he can get the word out about his real ideas and proposals for how an Obama-Biden administration will help the American people and not hurt them.
The 7th component of the New Strategy that John McCain and Sarah Palin is that they have is to scare people. There is a possibility that the Congress and Senate will have a Democratic majority. There is a possibility that the Presidency and Vice-Presidency will be Democratic. If you should do the math, that would result in a 1 Party administration. However, there is still a word of caution that Barack Obama must make crystal clear to the American people. The checks and balances will still be there in an Obama-Biden administration. There will still be debate. There will still be discussion. There will still be oversight and regulation. The Democratic Party is not going to be guaranteed anything. All legislation must make sense for the American people and be actually helpful to the American people in resolve of issues as well as investment in the nation’s betterment. It’s not party first, it’s American people first.
The 8th component of the New Strategy that John McCain and Sarah Palin is to make an argument of readiness and judgment to be President of the United States of America. I find this one to be funny. Barack Obama is ready to be President of the United States and he continues to grow day by day in making that crystal clear. John McCain and Sarah Palin keeps on talking about “being tested and having battle scars.” All that I can say is, what is that supposed to prove? Just because you have been somewhere does not give me any indication of where you are going or plan on going. John McCain keeps saying, “they know me, they know me and they know that I have fought my own party, etc.” First of all, who’s “they?” I’m not they. I have been following this election since the conventions to objectively learn about the candidates and I know more about what Barack Obama and Joe Biden has to offer our nation relative to our issues than John McCain and Sarah Palin has to offer. When it comes to character, I have seen all of the candidates’ televised documentaries so that is how much I know them personally. They gave me insight into who they are, where they come from, what record they have, and what made them are who they are today. Second, Barack Obama is no punk to the Democratic Party. He doesn’t agree with every Democrat on everything. He has fought his own party on things and worked across the aisle. He mentioned some of it in the final debate. Just because he does not brag about his record to the extent of John McCain does not mean anything. All Barack Obama has to do it make it plain that he is ready and have the right judgment to lead our nation because he actually has a real plan.
The 9th component of this New Strategy by John McCain and Sarah Palin is about small businesses and large corporations. They are promising to cut taxes on small businesses that make over $250,000 in profit or more and large corporations in order for money to be available for them to create jobs. Um, there is a problem with that. #1. The new tax on healthcare that hits the wallets of workers. #2. The realities of business and job creation. Regardless of tax increases or decreases on the rich small businesses and even richer large corporations (economic crisis or not), jobs are going to be sent overseas. With John McCain’s tax plan, he gives them more incentive to keep doing what they are doing – sending jobs overseas in the case of large corporations or small businesses having the freedom to do whatever they want even if it hurts the American workers. With Barack Obama’s tax plan, he regulates them to actually respect the worth and merit of the American worker. He challenges them to support the government in bringing about creating 21st century jobs and new markets to resolve the economic crises and get this nation back on track. Taking jobs overseas may save companies money but it creates mayheim in the realm of providing real customer service for repeat business. Corrupting and milking the system may help you for a little while under the deregulations that John McCain will continue to advocate but the karma that comes with it could kill you off. Under Obama, the amount of tax increase would only be maxed out at where top profit company taxes were under prosperous administrations such as President Bill Clinton. It is about returning to fairness and prosperity. It may be socialistic, but it is not the full textbook definition of socialism. Barack Obama can defend his position and rightfully so because it makes real sense.
The 10th component of the New Strategy coming from John McCain and Sarah Palin is about spending. There has been some falsehoods out there from sources such as “RealChange.com” that suggests that Barack Obama’s economic plan is centered on spending out of control. Even John McCain has gone on record with saying that “Barack Obama is planning to spend $1 trillion on top of the current deficit.” That is simply untrue and the American people should not fall for this okie-doke. In fact, there was a report recently by various sources of media about the spending plans of both candidates where Barack Obama’s plans would cost less money and mess with the deficit far less than John McCain’s spending plans. Of course, this makes sense because Barack Obama’s tax policy would save people (individuals and families) 3 times more money than that of John McCain’s tax policy. Therefore, income taxes for example, individuals and families will get back far more money in returns under Barack Obama than John McCain. In addition, whatever revenue generated from taxes and what not would be better spent by Barack Obama than John McCain. Barack Obama would spend money wisely while John McCain would spend money erratically. Barack Obama would use a scalpel in making budgetary decisions that impact Americans whereas John McCain would “hatchet and voucher.” I mean, even on tax policy, Barack Obama is trying to eliminate taxes that are unnecessary to better budget the nation and help businesses. What tax have you heard that John McCain plans on eliminating to help better the budgeting of the nation and relieve businesses that are struggling? That is the difference in this election and Barack Obama should drive home in the final campaign days this difference.
That is what I have noticed thus far in this new strategy. There is probably more but I will report them as I see them. The full advice I would give is that it must be known that we all must fight back with our Votes now and on November 4th. John McCain, Sarah Palin, their campaign supporters, endorsers, and allies are not sleeping. They are very hard at work with still trying to stop Barack Obama and Joe Biden from giving us the change that we need. We cannot let up, be complacent, or overconfident about this race. We have to be excited. We have to be united. We have to be proactive.
We have to make it clear that the choice is easy, Barack Obama and Joe Biden is the right way to vote to avoid more of the same with some “maverick” tweaking. We have to make it clear that the choice is easy, Barack Obama and Joe Biden is the right way to vote to avoid having a spending freeze where money only goes to defense, veterans affairs, and buying up bad mortgages. We have to make it clear that the choice is easy, Barack Obama and Joe Biden is the right way to avoid further partisanship and national division. We have to make it clear that the choice is easy, Barack Obama and Joe Biden is the right way to avoid having our nation go into further dissension and oblivion when it comes to our state in the world amongst other nations. We have to make it clear that the choice is easy, Barack Obama and Joe Biden is the right way to avoid having our nation not have a real plan of action in which our issues could be resolved. We have to make it clear that the choice is easy, Barack Obama and Joe Biden is the right way to avoid the further dissension and oblivion of our middle and low classes. We have to make it clear that the choice is easy, Barack Obama and Joe Biden is the right way to avoid more deregulation and even lesser guaranteed job opportunities. This is not rhetoric. This is not talking points. We have to use our votes to get our piece of the pie and the change that we need. It’s fact.
No more falling for the okie-doke, bamboozlement, hood winking, and everything else that they want to throw.
Barack Obama went back home to Honolulu, Hawaii to see his ailing grandmother. It's amazing how great Barack Obama is and how much his grandmother has to be proud of. I lost my grandmother in 1994 to complications from alzheimer's disease and it was just shy of her being able to see me graduate from the 6th grade as Valedictorian. Whether or not she heals and recovers from her illness, I just know that her spirit is soaring. She is proud of her family beyond measure.
I state in optimism that it is my hope that she gets to see her grandchild become the President of the United States of America. He is the best and most qualified candidate for the position in this election. He is the potential of our nation as our nation is the promise, potential, and hope of the world. He is resilient as our nation is. We deserve that kind of President. I was also thoughtful about Joe Biden when he lost his mother-in-law.
My condolescences to the family on that but again, I know that her spirit and legacy remains with the strength of the family and the promise of Joe Biden in his becoming the next Vice President of the United States of America. He is resilient as well and is the most qualified candidate for the position in this election. It demonstrates how human they really are and how people like John McCain are wrong about them being elitists.
Therefore, my heart is with everyone at this time.
I went to the Obama Rally in Miami this past Tuesday, October 21st and it was a great experience. The only thing that I was wishing that I had was one of the seats in the stands. It was hot outside. We stood for hours. I had to endure all of the pushing and shoving of the crowd. The VIPs in the stands got free water, free signs, and free American Flags. They were also closest to Barack Obama. The one thing that I kept wondering the whole time was how does one get that kind of hook-up?
Other than that, it was cool. They had a lot of vendors outside selling shirts, buttons, and stuff. I bought a t-shirt and 2 buttons. Also, I thought that it was one of the coolest scenes ever when I was leaving the rally after it was over. A pretty medium sized crowd of people mostly made up of Caribbean Americans dancing and singing to an original melody using "Obama" as the main lyric. In addition, I had the best time seeing and hearing Barack and Michelle Obama speak.
It was profound to see them in the flesh speaking to our hopes and dreams for this nation. I was happy to be there amongst other people of such a great diversity and commonality. I was also happy that Barack Obama had responded to John McCain by watching his speech in Philadelphia. I mean, the more rally speeches he watches of his competition, the more he can fight back as he should. Barack Obama is no punk as John McCain tries to make him out to be on a daily basis.
John McCain keeps saying that Barack Obama has "never been tested." Hello? He's a Black Man. Interracial to be exact. If that is not a test in itself, I don't know what is. Also, John McCain does not get the fact that Illinois is no cakewalk of a place to live and be. Chicago is a tough city and Illinois is a tough state. Not just anybody can live there let along serve in government representing people from there to evoke positive change and betterment. Sorry, it's not Arizona where the population could not touch Illinois's population if it tried.
I mean, I know that there are going to be people voting for Barack Obama in Arizona but because one of John McCain's mansions is there along with his 12 cars, it would be hard to imagine that state being Blue right now. Of course, anything can happen with this election. I do not believe that the majority of the nation has had a close to entire Blue Electoral College map before. However, with this election, a lady can dream. Can she?
Anyway, if I could do it all over again, I would. I would go to BiCentennial Park, wait for hours, be in the crowd, and have the honor of having hope be spoken into the dreams and life of our nation with real ideas to bring real resolve to our nations issues. I would do it all over again to be inspired to continue to work hard to realize my American dreams of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I would do it all over again to answer the call to the cause of freedom and be about a cause that is greater than myself in bringing betterment to the world.
When it is all said and done, I will be fine with the fact that I voted for "that one." I will be fine with my decision to vote for the change that I needed. I went from undecided to this ticket for the issues and I am satisfied in the fact that if Barack Obama is elected, our nation will be all the more better for it. We will finally have a 21st century President who will progress us into being a 21st century nation. We will be safe, secured, and restoring our standing in the world as a respectable nation who is all about changing the world for the better in the way that we should. Our domestic policy will be as good as our foreign policy. We will work together as a nation to strive towards ensuring that we all hold ourselves accountable as citizens as much as we hold our government accountable as our representatives.
The playing field will be leveled and made fair enough for the middle class to expand in order to be strengthened. This will give the lower class the opportunity to go to the next level by merit and the rich to be humbled in having to really learn what it means to be wealthy. For the rich got that way because of the middle and low classes. It is at their struggle, hardwork, sacrifice, and determination that brings the nation prosperity. To ignore it is to ignore what it really means to be an American. Hand ups and not handouts. Hands to hold to help you walk on your own.
This does not ignore the fact that people will try to milk the system. However, with the right regulation and control, such exploitation will decrease under an Obama-Biden Administration. More people will be working and earning their wealth instead of looking for another handout. Of course, the rich and well-connected will get all kinds of goodies under John McCain and Sarah Palin leaving everyone else out in the cold to fend for themselves. No helping hand because that is what John McCain calls a "handout." This is why we need to get Barack Obama in the White House and quick.
We need someone to be in our individual corner and the corners of our families. We need someone to be on our behalf and the behalf of our families. As Barack Obama said at the rally, "it is time for the American worker to be put first and considered a top priority." I agree. It is time for the American worker to get what is owed to him or her. The middle and low classes will have advocates in Barack Obama and Joe Biden. So, no time for losers, let's make Barack Obama and Joe Biden the champions for us all.
What are taxes? No really. What are they? What purpose do they serve? Well, I looked up a definition from a Merriam-Webster Dictionary and got the following… “a charge usually of money imposed by authority on persons or property for public purposes or a sum levied on members of an organization to defray expenses.” With this stated, there is much more to ask ourselves. What is the function of taxes and why do we pay them?
Now, if taxes were supposed to be for public purposes, then this would mean that it is an income generator for the government. In fact, how many organizations are you a member of where you have to pay dues? Think about it. Dues money is a form of taxation. However, because dues and taxes are two different words, there are two different viewpoints about this. Thus, it is understood at this point that taxes are a form of income for our government to monetarily be able to provide public services and support to the masses.
Education, Energy, Healthcare, and other public causes do not come free. Think about the economic crises. Everybody was saying, “why are you bailing out the banks, you should bail us out who are losing our homes and stuff?” Well, let’s just say that we let the banks fail. Let’s just say that we let the lenders like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac fail. They are gone. What then? Another scenario but please keep that foundation in mind. The banks and lenders fail. They are gone. The government prints money or whatever to just send out checks to people. Everybody has his or her checks. Again, what’s next?
The center of John McCain and Sarah Palin’s tax plan is this. The government buys up your old home mortgages at original values, cross their fingers, and hope for the best. They promise to not raise your taxes, even though they have no choice but to. Where are they going to raise your taxes ladies and gentlemen? Healthcare. On the one hand, they want to claim that healthcare is a responsibility. On another hand, they want to tax employees on their healthcare in order to support his “tax credit no borders” program. Then, he wants to say that he will not raise taxes by making up new taxes for you to deal with. O-k.
The conservative, Republican claim is that only 40% of Americans don’t pay taxes. First of all, let’s simplify this nonsense of an argument. Who doesn’t pay taxes? Good question. The unemployed, defaulters, and states that do not have sales taxes are just a few examples of that 40% who do not pay taxes. Now, if I am wrong, I have no problems being corrected but that is where truth needs to be told.
Also, the conservative, Republican claim is also that Barack Obama is a proponent and advocate of government increasing and expanding the welfare system. Well, we have two choices. We can have welfare or we can have more homeless on the streets. You think about that for a second. John McCain and Sarah Palin want to increase the poverty and homelessness rates of the nation. Hello? They want hurt the lower class of this nation by giving it the worst tax break. $319. $319. Are you serious? If the lower class is going to suffer under John McCain, then what is going to become of the middle class? It doesn’t get any better.
John McCain’s tax plan is a typical Republican tax plan of the “trickle down effect.” Lower the taxes of large corporations and the mass majority of businesses making $250,000 in profits before taxes or more. From there, we must hope that giving them tax breaks will allow them to create jobs and allow salaries to be competitive. This so-called “spirit of competition” is supposed to trickle down to the middle and lower classes (with the discrimination of women continuing) by the end of the 4-year term period giving relief to those classes so that everyone is happy.
There is a problem. First, these large corporations and businesses making $250,000 before taxes never guarantee jobs. CEOs and Presidents of large corporations, if you look at any financial background information, make at least $1 million before taxes in salary + bonuses. Then, the business owners making $250,000 before taxes in profits are the ones who are members of the upper middle class. These are the companies who are hardly ever hiring. Once they have a core group of people that they are satisfied with, that it is. So, what kind of job creation are you talking about, John McCain, conservatives, and the Republicans?
Now, the scenario of the small businesses. How many small businesses that you know really have help wanted signs in their windows on a regular basis? Again, once they get a core group of employees that they are satisfied with, that is it. A job only comes up if someone quits, is fired, or retiring. That is not often especially if it is a “family-owned” business. You can give tax cuts or keep the same rates all you want. Where is the guarantee? We live in a nation where you have to have experience before you are allowed to get any experience. You have be to free or cheap labor in order to get some experience and move up the ladder to a more middle class position and salary.
John McCain and Sarah Palin do not get it. We must work from the bottom up, as Barack Obama and Joe Biden have made it clear. We are the “little guy.” The low and middle classes must be fought for. John McCain said, on several occasions, that he does not want wealth to be shared with the middle and lower classes. That’s funny. Rich people have enough money to have mansions, cars, take big vacations, have yachts, go to fabulous events at $5,000-10,000 at ticket, stay in the best hotels, pay all of their bills, and do whatever else they want. The amount of taxes they pay annually can be compared to five cents coming out of their pockets. 5 cents. A coin in a bucket.
There are families who have never been to the movies, Disneyland, or the mall. There are families who have stacks of paper in bills instead of stacks of paper in receipts of bills having been paid. There are singles that are constantly receiving phone calls from lenders about when their loans are going to be paid off. We, college students, are drowned in debt upon graduation. There is a lot going on. How can you be rich and not give a damn? Barack Obama mentioned this concept in the debate and I agree with him. If I were rich, I would not mind paying more taxes so that the infrastructure of my nation is fixed. I would not mind paying more taxes so that more people in my nation can work towards the same richness. I would not mind paying more taxes so that families who are struggling can get aid and assistance to do the right thing in rebuilding their lives.
Call me selfless but if I were rich, I would have no problems paying more taxes. I mean, who would I be to not care about my nation, my community? I would have worked hard. I would have enough to have a house, a car, maintain them, and be able to do whatever I need to survive. I would have enough to do a lot of what I want the mass majority of the time. If my corporation is making over $11 billion or more a quarter, who am I to not care about my nation, the lives of my employees? We need to understand what taxes are and what their function is. Of course, the notion of paying the money you make to government is not good. I mean, I would not want to do it at all. However, what is the main function of taxes? Why should we do it?
Again, from what I know, taxes help our government monetarily do what is needed to ensure that we all survive, are protected, and continue to function. John McCain talks about class warfare. Well, the rich would be richer, the middle will just be stuck, and the poor would get poorer under a McCain-Palin administration. If you think that you will be getting anything from the trickle down that he is proposing, you must be crazy. Hello, we are currently in a trickle down. Got anything yet? Ah no. Guess who did get everything and held it? The oil companies, top corporations, and big player companies who pay their CEOs and Presidents 7 figures and lives in the high 6 six figures after taxes. These are the people who give the bulk of the bonuses from profits to themselves and a small to zero percentage of the bonuses to you, the workers.
Now, as a small business, my main goal would be to survive, perform, and profit. It would be best that it is not your only source of income in the very beginning but if it were, how a household budget is constructed and managed would be most important. Of course, that is if you aspire for your small business to actually grow into something bigger. I think that the spirit of business evolution from the early parts of the 20th century has depleted now in the early part of the 21st century. It is sad. I mean, a lot of the brands and the corporations behind them that we are familiar with today came from humble beginnings and small amounts of money saved or borrowed. You would think, relative to taxes, that those who actually understood the humble beginnings of these brands along with evolution of their business would get why taxes paid to the government is important.
I agree with Barack Obama. Our national budget should be like our home budgets. We make cuts where we need and have to. We reappropriate funds to those areas where we need to by priority. If I know that I cannot afford the Internet or cable television after having it for so long, why keep spending money on it? It’s the same for what Barack Obama, if elected, when he stated that he would go “page by page, line by line of the national budget to make decisions on what to cut and keep.” All in all, is paying taxes patriotic? Well, the answer comes with understanding what taxes are and the function of taxes. It’s redundant but true.
If taxes are for the sake of helping our government to generate revenue to do all sorts of important things such as lowering the deficit, fixing our infrastructure, investing in our energy independence, fixing our healthcare and social security systems, help our troops protect us, and better getting our nation on track, then that is to keep our nation a nation so that we can keep on existing. Therefore, why should you have problems with working to invest in your nation? Yes, it is a cause greater than yourself. That is being patriotic – honoring our past, understanding our present, supporting and investing in our future.
So, John McCain. Spreading the wealth, expanding our middle class, uplifting the lower class, and strengthening us all who are the meat, potatoes, vegetables, and crust of the entire nation is a good idea and not inciting class warfare. If I were rich, I would pay more taxes to help my fellow Americans and challenge my government to use that money wisely. If there is going be money that is not going to be used, then as Barack Obama says, “give us our money back.” We ought to be treated as investors when it comes to taxes. If the government is not going to use our money wisely, cut the checks and give it back to us.
John McCain can never bring himself to utter the words “middle class.” Anytime that he did, it always seems like it was a burden or annoyance. It’s not hard. Heck, it’s what I at least aspire to be in my independent days after graduation from college. The working class is the middle class. The middle class and lower class is the foundation. It is the reason why the rich are rich so that should never be taken for granted. Therefore, my whole point is that outcasting and ignoring the middle class is not ever a good move. It is never a good philosophy. It is never a good idea. Guess what? They exist so quit trying to ignore them.
Liberal vs. Conservative is a war that we are fighting everyday. Yes, it is divisive and subjective. It incites class warfare and confusion to life that could be beyond us all. Besides class warfare, it is also divisive in many demographic areas. Personally, I am a moderate liberal and the picture of liberalism that has been painted by Republicans and conservatives alike has been an abomination. The attacks against anyone who is liberal speaks volumes because it makes it obvious that there are conservatives out there who are absolutely ignorant about what it means to be a liberal and what we stand for.
Barack Obama is not an “extremist” as many people love to make him out to be. He is not the “most liberal voting record” ever to have been in the US Senate or State Senate as many people love to make him out to be. Voting in the Senate is not as easy as a “yes or no.” There is always an explanation and we would have to understand the entire bills that they voted on in order to really know how to judge their records. Of course, we don’t have 8 years let along 26 years of legislation to go through and get our answers.
The key of John McCain and Sarah Palin’s campaign and possibly eventual administration is division. Yes, I said Division. We are talking about another time in which there could possibly be another Republican president and vice-president being over a Democratic congress and senate. How much would occur that would really be on the side of the people or be of real change? I doubt that much different would happen.
I understand that in both the Republican and Democratic parties that there are bad leaders in office that need to be removed. That is valid but the notion that Barack Obama does not have a reform and fighting spirit within him to clean house is preposterous. Barack Obama can come into office and clean house. Do I believe that Barack Obama has ever been any sort of radical in his liberalism? Absolutely not. Do I believe that he would get into office and do the opposite of what he has proposed to us? Absolutely not. Do I believe that he would get into office and be a “yes man?” Hell no. Do I believe that Barack Obama is a punk to the Democratic Party and not fight them when he needs to on important issues that impact us the most? Absolutely not.
Being liberal has been characterized by the Republicans and conservatives as being a “crime against humanity.” Of course, I am wondering what planet outside of Earth did they decide to go get that from and believe in it? Change is what liberals are about. It is in our blood and spirit. We accept the change and evolution that the world goes through. We understand that the past is not so perfect as conservatives try to make it out to be. This is why they want to “conserve” and not be about the progression that is needed so much. As we all know, the world changes. Nothing remains the same. The question is in the argument and war between the world viewpoints is how do we handle it?
Do you go backwards into the past and try to find an answer from the past to use or do you just look into the past, learn from it, and come up with a change that could happen for the future? I’m not knocking the conservative worldview but I am questioning it. How does it serve our nation and world well by being consumed by the past to understand the present and impact the future? This is what I want to know. What is so great about being conservative and what does it mean to be moderately so?
President Bill Clinton was my inspiration at the age of 10 to become a Democrat when he was a US Presidential candidate back in 1992. My community in South Central Los Angeles was going through turmoil to the point of being at rock bottom when the riots broke out after the verdict of the Rodney King trial where those guilty officers were founded not guilty by the jury. I was watching the local news one night after school with my mom and saw that Bill Clinton had visited my community that day talking to community leaders about what happened as well as what he could do to help. No presidential candidate in the history of my community, that I am aware of, has ever visited my community before. My urban neighborhood. Therefore, it was a moment in time that stood out to and impacted me most.
Hilary Clinton said it best relation to the presidency of her husband that “it took a Democratic President to get us out of the mess of a Bush so why can’t there be another to do the same?” She was right. Barack Obama should be the man, with Joe Biden by his side, to clean up the mess of and get us out of the Bushes. There has been rumor of talks with national networks of Barack Obama wanting to purchase 30 minutes of airtime prior to the election on November 4th. It has not been stated as to what we would actually see and hear if this were to be true and realized. However, I would like to share some ideas that could be quite useful. Many people may have the same ideas but I want to put this out there anyway. In no particular order:
#1. Primetime General Town Hall Meeting – This should be held in a key battleground state like Florida, North Carolina, Nevada, Colorado, Virginia, or Ohio. Another option of location could be in a Republican state like Texas or even a bigger shocker, Alaska. It will demonstrate how much he is about issues and people orientation. It will put his platform into the evoked set of Undecided, Independents, critics, and the like. It will also be another opportunity for him to formally show that he is the man for the job that we, here, already know.
#2. Keynote Address to the Nation – This should be something where he can get at the heart and core of the American People. I am not suggesting he does a typical speech with a teleprompter, flashcards, or anything like that. I am talking about Barack Obama speaking from the depth of his spirit and being transparent. Many critics of Barack Obama say that he is not transparent enough. Well, let’s make them shut up as he puts himself out there one more time and makes it clear that he will be working for the middle and lower classes to be uplifted. McCain may not like the notion of wealth going in the direction of most Americans instead of just a few but it makes more sense than the notion of wealth continuing to be that the rich are getting richer, the middle are just stuck, and the poor are getting poorer.
#3. A Specific Town Hall Meeting – This could be specific on such topics as the “race factor, experience factor, transparency factor, etc.” It could also be specific in audience to senior citizens and college students. Again, this is all about clearing the air and being transparent. It is “the talk.”
#4. Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner? – A lot of the nation’s issues have been discussed around the kitchen table. Well, Barack should go to Key battleground states and sit around the kitchen table with families and singles to answer questions directly from the voters. No cards, no teleprompters, no scripts. He should visit the homes of families and singles in various areas – rural, suburbia, urban, college dorms or sorority/fraternity houses, etc. He even can visit offices during the day for a special board meeting, a military base, or local sports bars/bowling alleys/beauty shops where real people are and answer questions. It would be cool to see Barack Obama in real areas of America with real people talking to them about the issues and the criticism against him from race to transparency. Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Liberals, Conservatives. Diverse groups of people. Real, raw, deep, and uncut.
#5. Can I Get A Witness? – This is another type of unscripted program where real people who are going to vote for Obama share their stories of why they are doing it. Those who are endorsing him share their stories of why they are voting for Obama. Joe Biden, Jill Biden, Hilary Clinton, Michelle Obama, and President Bill Clinton. State, city, and local officials can share their stories. Republicans, Independents, and Conservatives voting for Obama can share their stories. The program will end with a candid conversation between Barack Obama and Joe Biden about what their administration would do for us all and how they will be working day in and day out with our entire well being on their minds.
These 30 minutes would be a great thing for us all and I hope that they are used wisely in whatever manner is chosen to address our nation if approved. To all fundraisers out there, I applaud your efforts and continue to keep up the good work. Hopefully, I can at least buy a button.
Wow!! We are here. The final round in the debates for the office of President of the United States of America is upon us. For the past two debates, we have seen our candidate Barack Obama grow and shine beyond all expectations. With this debate, it is my hope that he continues to demonstrate growth and shine beyond all expectations. The difference between the last two rounds of debate and this round is the odds stacked against him. He is the real underdog.
Barack Obama cannot just tie in this debate as he has been but he has to win, win hard, and win big. He has to phase McCain, get into his conscience, and get him off of his “express.” The truth is what Barack Obama needs to do is be bolder and more forthright about giving. We know the truth about the smears and everything but the American public at large that do not necessarily have cable television or the Internet needs to be educated. I mean, there are people out there believing all kinds of false information just because John McCain and Sarah Palin said it. They slipped the mickey or placebo to people on things they knew some Americans (mostly those who are uneducated and ignorant) would be suckers to believe.
Barack Obama needs to be a professor, a teacher and educate the masses as if it were the first time. He needs to drive home the differences between John McCain and himself. He needs to micro-observe John McCain’s allegations and respond to them directly and specifically with the truth. He should clear the air and get rid of myths that John McCain wants to use as plagues to the Obama-Biden ticket. I may be redundant on this but it is the truth. Barack Obama does not need to worry about us. He has our support as allies, voters, supporters, and endorsers but he needs to concentrate on those voters who are either still undecided, independent, and/or feeling uncomfortable with him because they simply do not know him regardless of the past 16 months.
Barack Obama needs to defend his record by formally presenting his record. This is the time that he should not just brush it off. Call out John McCain on the lies he spews in misrepresenting Obama’s record. Obama should address all of it directly, truthfully, fully, and specifically. This will help bring points to Obama in the debate and silence McCain for good on those “issues.” In result, Obama will satisfy those who want him to be more transparent. Addressing McCain also on these things by educating the nation will allow Obama to control the debate so that he can get McCain to concentrate on the issues more than attacking Obama every chance he gets. With every “Obama voted for/against this and he does not have the experience of doing that or don’t know this,” Obama should have a direct, specific, full, and truthful answer or response that will allow him to pivot back to the issues.
The more Barack Obama demonstrates transparency, the more John McCain will look like the village hypocrite that he is. John McCain has no real plans and one bag of tricks that includes the arguments of experience, being liberal, relationship characters, the “maverick” thing, taxes, military, spending, reform, ethics, energy, and foreign policy. In fact, Joe Biden is right. John McCain believes that this election was going to be all about foreign policy. To bad, so sad, John McCain…It is not. All that has to be done by Barack Obama is to pay attention and do it closely. If John McCain tries to bash and lie (as he will), he needs to be called out, made famous, and shut up.
One of the things that I loved about the last debate was that Barack Obama did not need notes. His pad and pen remained on the chair while John McCain had to write page after page of notes. This debate needs to be similar to that. It is okay to correct the man. He is not afraid to tell a lie even though he claims that he “does not need lessons on how to tell the truth to the American people especially from a Chicago politician.” He is not afraid to disrespect Barack Obama, his life, and his record. He is not afraid to talk about himself and glorify his record without giving any real guarantees that he will know how to do anything on a national and international level. It is one thing to know how to evoke change on the Senate floor on a state’s behalf but it is another to know how to evoke change on a national and international scale with understanding of communities.
He also claims that he “doesn’t need US history lessons and will know how to not be doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past.” However, Obama does not need US history lessons either but he has no problems learning more than he knows about our history because you can never get to know too much or know everything single thing. John McCain has twisted American history facts in previous debates but claims that he does not need history lessons?! Get real. His running mate even failed the Supreme Court case test. All Obama has to do is take John McCain to school. Tell him and all of us that being president is not playing battleship and Russian roulette with our issues and our lives. It’s not playing battleship, Russian roulette, and monopoly. There are real issues that our nation, our states, our counties, our cities and towns are enduring that require real government attention and resolution by holding each level accountable to get the job done.
It is not a matter of big government or too much government intervention but it is a matter of government accountability and responsibility. Letting the world run free and rampant without enough sound regulation does not work. Our nation must be protected. Our economy must be protected. Our rights as people who are taxpayers, consumers, homeowners, and investors must be protected. Our world must be at peace working towards betterment, growth, and real leadership. Our people as a whole in health and wellness must be protected. Business and the corporate culture must be reformed and held accountable to be responsible. The people of our nation must be better educated not only as children but also as adults. There are many adults in this nation who still do not know how to read or have the competence to comprehend what they read. They are willing to believe anything that you throw at them. This must change.
Barack Obama must shut down and shut up John McCain in this debate. We all know that he has this in him. We need Barack to show that he embodies what it means to be our president. He must show that he embodies a true and great president. He must demonstrate transparency in who he is and what he stands for not only to John McCain but the American People. This is not about us who are already educated and aware of Barack Obama because we are going to vote for him. It is not about John McCain’s base of people because we already know that they are not going to vote for Obama. It is about that 10% of undecided voters, other percentage of Independent voters, and those voters who are uncomfortable with the thought of Obama being President of the United States for whatever reason.
This should be a prologue to what the 30-minute television spot is going to be about. I have an idea for that and I will share it in my next blog post. I know that Barack Obama is selfless and altruistic but it is time to balance out the “we” with the “me.” He needs to talk about himself, who he is, and what he is really offering. There are people who are solely depending on this debate to help them make a decision. These are people who do not go on this website or watch television all of the time except for instances as this. It is time to change the world in one moment.
Barack Obama, Fight for the Change That We Need!! School John McCain. Make it known that it has nothing to do with his age or anything but he needs to be educated on what an Obama-Biden administration would really entail. Sell this concept to John McCain as much as you are selling it to us. Let him stumble and react but don’t let him get away with murder in bashing your record, who you are, where you have been, and where you are going. Call him out on his negativity and make it plain that even though John McCain “rather lose an election than to lose a war,” you would rather lose an election than to see our nation fade into a non-existence at the hands of John McCain and Sarah Palin wanting us to go backwards into a 20th century ideology and policy than to be a force in the 21st century.
With all of this advice, it is my hope that you win the debate hands down, Barack Obama. This is not about satisfying your campaign staff, us as your secured base, or John McCain and his base. No. This is about strongly asserting the fact that you are going to embody and be proactive about giving all of us the change that we need as our president from November 5, 2008 to the last day of office in October in 2012. We, the middle and lower classes, will be on your mind day in and day out as you bring this change that we need in our culture, government, work ethic, and our nation as a whole. You will meet the call, take on the challenge, and work each day for us to bring about legislation and policy that will bring real resolve and leadership to our many issues.
Everybody may not like everything that you are proposing. You cannot please 100% of the nation 100% of the time. However, it will be guaranteed through action that this nation will be a better place by October of 2012 if you, Barack Hussein Obama, are the President of the United States of America and Joe Biden, is the Vice-President of the United States of America. Let John McCain know what you say is not rhetoric but is fact and you will hold yourself and the rest of the government accountable to ensure that it is fact.
Who is John McCain, Sarah Palin, their supporters, campaign staff, and allies trying to fool? The answer is Everybody. I have been somewhat vocal through my blog about the root of the McCain-Palin campaign and their strategies. It is fact that this campaign, its supporters, and allies are using the strategies, tactics, and ideology from the fights that Barack Obama had to endure in the Democratic Primaries as the muse, nature, and spirit of the McCain-Palin ticket. They want the Conservative Democrats and they want them bad. It is sad that this race has come down to another warring difference and that is worldview – Conservative vs. Liberal.
I am Liberal. I have been upset at the misrepresentation in this election of who we are and what we stand for. Everybody wants to make us out, as liberals, to be what is wrong with the world. It is unfair because being liberal is not about being negative at all. We are about the world becoming a better place through accepting, understanding, and evoking change. It is obvious and common sense that we want to bring about the right kind of change. It is not just any old kind of change.
I am constantly angry at how conservatives have been behaving in this election. They are not thinking things through. There is no one answer to everything but may be in their minds, it is. I don’t know. All that I do know is the fact that conservatives are not necessarily into change unless it is absolutely necessary and are very picky about that change. It seems like it is the old saying of, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” The problem is that you have to look all around you and understand that the world is not a one-track place. There is a lot that is broke and much that needs fixing.
As long you believe that the world is a one-track place, you will only contribute to keeping the world stuck in the past instead of progressing towards a better and proactive future. There is nothing wrong with being conservative but the world changes everyday and we are all complex beings with a complex diversity. We, as liberals, understand this. Now, the McCain-Palin candidates, supporters, and allies want to label all liberals as “radicals and socialists.” That is false and wrong.
I can admit that I do not know everything about socialism but there are a lot of things that McCain, Palin, their supporters, and allies are insinuating that could have led them to this argument. Barack Obama and Joe Biden are aspiring to bring strength and incredible support to the middle class who is the bread, butter, meat, and potatoes of this nation. John McCain and Sarah Palin keep saying that they don’t like the notion of re-appropriating wealth to the mass majority of the Americans but I have a dream that includes the fact that I want to be at least a great middle class member.
I am graduating from college soon with 3 degrees wanting to become a marketing professional who changes the face of my industry in the most positive manner. I want to earn the best independent life that I can get. John McCain and Sarah Palin has made it clear for young people like me and middle aged people like my mother who has worked solidly in performance for years until she was let go from her job due to a supervisor who simply did not personally like her. They don’t want us to work for a solid wealth of being able to pay our bills and have a decent standard of living especially in this competitive job market.
Barack Obama and Joe Biden want to bring jobs to us and we will do what is necessary to compete to earn one of those jobs. We want to have our careers and my mom wants to retire in a better place. Even if the economy were not centerstage due to crises, Barack Obama would still have had the better economic plan. He is also better with energy, education, social issues, poverty, and women’s issues. Barack Obama and Joe Biden have the best plans for our nation to leave the 20th century and actually be in the 21st century. We are 8 years behind the times in America and that is unacceptable.
John McCain and Sarah Palin are running out of ideas. The Experience Card. John McCain is over 20 years older than Barack Obama and has been in politics much longer. Both men have records of fighting for us in Washington but Barack Obama has enough experience to be the President of the United States of America while John McCain has enough experience to become complacent, about himself, and set in his ways. Age has nothing to do with this. It is who he is. John McCain may have fundamental differences with Barack Obama but loves to lie, be negative, and divisive in ways that will not help our nation.
The motives are clear that Barack Obama is about us all and John McCain is about people like himself and Sarah Palin. In addition, he likes to take many of Barack Obama’s great ideas and make them his own. He likes to take credit for them, make false claims, and misrepresent Barack Obama’s plans and record. He has no respect for Barack Obama. John McCain is a hypocrite and contradictor just as much as Sarah Palin.
Just because he has been in Washington D.C. as a politician longer and is older than Barack Obama does not mean anything. There have been plenty of great presidents who have entered office with having little to no experience in national politics. Unlike most people, I don’t believe everything that I read and take it as fact. I read between the lines and I observe objectively what is going on. I think about who is saying what. John McCain has been erratic and dramatic while Barack Obama has been consistent, steady, and unphased.
John McCain has 9 houses, a millionaire heiress wife, and multiple cars. Barack Obama has 1 house and a hybrid car. Who best understands the life of the average American? John McCain may have served in the military and came from a military family. That is all well and good but Barack Obama knows community service. He was a community organizer and senator in one of the toughest cities and states in America. Chicago in Illinois. It is rich in culture but hard as a rock in politics and government. He worked hard for the legislations that help held his government despite party lines accountable to the residents of those communities.
He did not take a stand on those legislative issues that would be a risk to those people whether or not it passed and could hurt them. That is the point and purpose of the “present” voting choice. It is a choice in which you don’t gamble with the issue or those who it would impact. This does not suggest that you don’t care about the issue or are indecisive as McCain keeps suggesting. That is how much he respected his constituents. He studied the issues and made sure he understood them clearly before making a sound decision of yes or no.
John McCain and Sarah Palin are people who just make decisions and ask questions later. They gamble with our lives and issues. Barack Obama and Joe Biden are people who ask questions first and make decisions wisely. They don’t gamble with our lives and issues. Who is really trustworthy on being smart about decisions being made that could impact us? Who has the best judgment? Barack Obama and Joe Biden. The truth is that we cannot afford to be the dice in the hands of John McCain and Sarah Palin hoping in a 50/50 chance that they will follow through on doing what is right for our nation. I mean, they can’t even do it in a 60-day campaign.
John McCain claims that he is the “underdog.” Annt!! Wrong. Barack Obama is the underdog and always has been. It is Barack Obama that has the most odds stacked against him. It is Barack Obama who has the most work to do in these last days of the election to demonstrate and show prove to those Undecided voters (as I was) and Independent voters that he is the man for the job. He is the one that has to prove that he is about knowing the issues and bringing real resolutions to them. That is where Barack Obama has to stay on track and remain on the issues.
Barack Obama is new to many voters so there are many questions still lingering in their minds even after 16 months. However, they should not play themselves and be naïve in believing every single solitary thing that has been said from the mouths of John McCain, Sarah Palin, their supporters, endorsers, and allies. They should not, as American people, believe every single solitary thing that they read in newspapers or seen on television in national and local media. You have to decipher through everything and fact check things with true non-partisan sources.
I am angry that John McCain and Sarah Palin are trying to get away with murder in many respects. They want to “start over” with the American public to reinvent themselves as something different again. Is this the 3rd or 4th face of John McCain and Sarah Palin? I am angry that Barack Obama and Joe Biden have not stood up as hard as they should to them specifically on their behavior in disrespecting this ticket, the issues they have raised time and again about their records and past relationships, and boldly defend themselves.
Enough is enough. Bring the specifics, the truth, and shut them up. John McCain needs to be Silenced. Sarah Palin needs to be Silenced. The campaign staff of Barack Obama and Joe Biden needs to Clear the Air!! William Ayers, Tony Rezko, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, All of it!! The truth needs to be known and the fact that Barack Obama has not flip/flopped on addressing all of this should be known. It is something that will help Barack Obama and demonstrate to all of us that he is not this “mysterious figure” as John McCain and Sarah Palin has made him out to be in the minds of many. We, as the supporters, endorsers, and allies of Barack Obama and Joe Biden, must support this release of truth to the masses so that we can shut up John McCain and Sarah Palin once and for all. The truth release should also address and bring strong argument and defense to fundamental differences on National Security and Foreign Policy.
There is a forming pattern cloud hovering over people that are making them doubt that Barack Obama could actually follow through with what he has proposed. This is where the meat of the fight must happen for this ticket now. The full truth is key to ending this election in a rightful victory. I am adamant about the fact that Barack Obama and Joe Biden will change our nation for the better but it has to be crystal clear to everyone by majority vote that they have the same stand that I do. This national election will be decided in Barack Obama’s favor if he demonstrates that we, the American people, should have no doubt about him being our Commander In Chief, Domestic Policy Executive, and President in general. The truth has to be drilled hard to shut John McCain and Sarah Palin up.
I am declaring it right now. Who is the best first lady choice out of Cindy McCain and Michelle Obama? Without batting an eye, I say Michelle Obama. I watched the Larry King interview and have seen footage of her on the campaign trail as well as involved in bringing the message of the Obama-Biden campaign while Cindy McCain just been in the background for most of the time. That’s all well and good for her but don’t come out and talk mess about someone then smile in their face and shake their hand the next day.
I believe that Michelle Obama could bring a lot to the First Lady position that has never been brought before. She is open and honest. She is just at the forefront as Barack Obama, Joe and Jill Biden are. She has a great platform that is based in uplifting the women of this nation to meet challenges and go for higher heights. She understands the plight of us all as her husband does. That should count for something. Jill Biden is also a great woman who is a college professor who is also an advocate for women’s issues. With these ladies in our corner and the men who support them at their side, it is amazing what could evolve from an Obama-Biden administration and first ladyship.
Now, many people have gone on record in the past in bashing her saying that she had issues with our nation. I mean, look at us now. Who doesn’t have an issue with government and the craziness of our nation? It does not mean that you are not patriotic. It means that you want better for our nation and that our nation should not settle for anything less. I stand on a principle that Barack Obama has been adamant about and that is women should be paid an equal amount for equal work. I am neutral on the topic of abortion because I understand both viewpoints depending on the cases involved. I am egalitarian when it comes how I perceive a real woman’s place to be in the world relative to men.
I apologize in advance if this seems forceful or forthright but I have so beyond had it with John McCain and Sarah Palin. It is not cool to see our candidate get bashed day after day everytime we turn around and I sincerely want the madness to end. Barack Obama and Joe Biden have been nothing but respectful and focused on sharing the fundamental differences between our choices for US President and Vice-President. It is unfair and unjust that this process has gotten that nasty.
There is a series of things that have been going on for the past week that has me upset. I don’t know about you but, as supporters and voters of Barack Obama and Joe Biden, we need to stand up. The supporters and voters of John McCain and Sarah Palin have made it clear that they don’t care about the economy. They don’t care about anybody or anything relative to the crises and issues of our nation. They only care about violence, lies, deception, negativity, and distraction. They have disrespected time and time again the candidate that we believe will bring Real Change to Washington.
In my neighborhood of South Central Los Angeles in California and other urban neighborhoods across this nation, we call it “hateration.” They are hating on who we believe is the embodiment of a Real President of the United States of America. They are hating on the fact that his campaign is running on positivity, truth, and the Issues. They are hating on the fact that they are suffering in the nationwide polls. They are hating on the fact that Barack Obama has brought Real guidelines and resolutions for the repair and renewal of our economy going towards the right direction. They are hating.
They are hating on the fact that we see right through them and know what their campaign is all about from the inside out. They are hating on the fact that he has registered people to vote. They are hating on the fact that our candidates, Barack Obama and Joe Biden, won every debate. They are hating on the fact that there are Republicans and Independents who are voting for this ticket instead of their ticket. They are hating on the fact that he and Joe Biden are the answer to our nation’s hopes and dreams. They are hating that they will bring the change that we need. They are hating that Barack Obama and Joe Biden will have 21st century policy and a 21st century administration that will show that our nation is no longer settling for backwards antics and anecdotes but forward solutions and progress. They are hating.
It is amazing how much they want to make Barack Obama out to be something that he is absolutely not so that they can win. Hateration. This is not being a “Maverick.” This is being a disgrace to our nation. This is being vile, unpatriotic, and immoral. This hurts me to the depth of my spirit. It is time that we, my fellow supporters and voters, stand up and tell Barack Obama not to take this anymore. We are here to back him and Joe Biden up. The only people that have any right to be angry about this election and campaign is all of us.
Barack Obama, read this!! Internalize It!! Blow John McCain Out of the Water in the Last Debate!! It is time. It is America’s time. We shall not be moved, Barack!! We shall not be fooled, Barack!! Stand Up to John McCain & Sarah Palin for ALL OF US!! If they bring out the guns, GET DIRECT & TO THE POINT!! Let them have it. LET THEM HAVE IT!!
Bill Ayers? Ok. What about him? Shut them up about him with the TRUTH, Barack!! Rev. Jeremiah Wright? What about him? Again, Shut them up about him also with the TRUTH, Barack!! Your middle name? What about it? Make it CRYSTAL CLEAR that you are…Christian and not Muslim with no offense to them. Make it Plain, Barack. If he don’t mention any of this, you should mention it and CLEAR THE AIR!! The TRUTH Shall Set You FREE, Barack!!
We all know the truth. We all know the stories from the Democratic Primaries. I studied them all during the time that I was Undecided. Everything was disproven and there has been no flip/flops. Please Barack, I am begging you…Take John McCain On & Shut Him Up, Shut Him Down!! He has no respect for you. He has no decency for you. His wife hates on your wife. He has made that clear time and time again without a shadow of a doubt or bat of eye. You said that this is about us. Right, Barack? So, keep it real and FIGHT BACK FOR US!! Go toe to toe with him on the change that we need. I want John McCain and Sarah Palin’s games to be over. Period.
I have a question. Are we, as Americans, mature enough to vote an African-American male to become the President of the United States? In many respects, I think that we are but in other respects, I believe that we are not. Race does play an active role in this election and the antics of the McCain-Palin campaign and ticket has made that crystal clear. There is a lot going on.
You have a White police officer going to a rally and use Barack’s middle name against him. And you wonder why people are upset? Barack Obama is NOT a Muslim. He is Christian. You have a White woman in Sarah Palin ranting and raving that Barack is a terrorist. And you wonder why people are upset? Barack Obama is NOT a terrorist. He loves this nation and respects it highly. He does not condone terrorism in any shape or form. You have a White man in John McCain referring to Barack as “that one.” And you wonder why people are upset? He is NOT “that one.” He is Senator Barack Obama, competition to Senator John McCain for the position of President of the United States of America.
Now, people have a right to their own opinions if they are of ignorance, bigotry, prejudice, stupidity, and other aspects of negativity. However, to drill that into people’s heads by way of assimilative tactics and believing wholeheartedly that the American people are not mature enough to vote for an African-American male or stupid enough to believe everything that you say to be real and true is dead wrong. John McCain and Sarah Palin are running NOT to help all American people and change government. They are running to help themselves and people like themselves.
John McCain and Sarah Palin may have reached across the aisle for legislation but how many of that reaching across the aisle was to the hands of African-Americans, other people of color, or independents? I mean, really? How many real poor or lower middle class individuals have they been around? We’re not all white, military, hockey mom, senior citizen, Alaskan, small-town, Arizonian, suburban, joe six-pack Americans but they have made it crystal clear. These are the people that they want to serve. I’m sorry for everybody else. I’m left out of it, too.
However, Barack Obama and Joe Biden are about ALL of us. They have real plans and stance to fight for ALL of us. They have records of reform and justice. They may not brag about it like McCain and Palin do but they do have records of fighting for us on Capitol Hill. Everything may not have passed into law but how much legislation on Capitol Hill introduced by African-Americans, Latin/Hispanic, or other legislators of color is actually passed? Think about it. The majority of legislators are like the majority of company boards of directors – White, Old, Male.
So, on this note, is race really a factor in this election? Yes. Is intolerance, stupidity, and ignorance really factors in this election? Yes. In my case, I refuse to be a statistic. I refuse to have John McCain and Sarah Palin’s campaign of negativity, smears, drama, hypocrisy, lies, and imitation tactics phase me. They may try to distract a lot of my fellow Americans but they shall not get at me. It’s like I said. I went from Undecided to the Obama-Biden ticket for a reason – The Issues.
Barack Obama and Joe Biden are being overwhelmingly hated on because John McCain and Sarah Palin can’t handle the Issues that our nation is facing. They can’t hang with Barack Obama and Joe Biden. They are not in the same league. I mean, Palin and McCain are trying and trying real hard but they couldn’t phase Undecided voters like me. People like me are not stupid, ignorant, or gullible and naïve. We see right through John McCain and Sarah Palin and voting for the greatness of our nation. We are seeing right through them and voting for the resolutions of our nation’s issues. We want 5 million green jobs and the introduction of the green collar. We want our right to good healthcare. We care about the future of social security. We want permanent energy independence in 10 years and a focus on fixing our infrastructure.
We want a President that is about real Community Service and not just military. We want a President that understands the difference between combat and civil military forces. We want a President who has that balance of diplomacy and smart combat strategy in international affairs. We want a President who can work through crises and not panic or be erratic in those times. We want a President who cuts our middle class taxes, reforms our tax codes to make sense to us all, cuts what does not work in the national budget, and re-invest wisely in our nation. You know the plans. We see them everyday on here and he talks about them.
We want a 21st Century President and NOT a 20th Century President. Barack Obama and Joe Biden are the 21st Century. They will set the standard for our nation’s greatness in this century and will not lead us backwards like John McPalin and Sarah Palin would. It is time for this nation to mature, grow up. We will grow up with Barack Obama and Joe Biden. So, tell those haters John McCain, Sarah Palin, their allies, and supporters that we shall not be fooled or moved. We will vote for the change that WE ALL need. It's Fact, Not Rhetoric.
The new attack on Barack Obama is personal. Yes, ladies and gentlemen. It has gotten personal again. Sarah Palin has stated that one of her campaign advisors has recommended to her that “the heels come on and the gloves come off.” Again, they are using tactics from the Democratic primaries to disqualify Barack Obama from being a real US Presidential candidate based on character and relationships. The question is….why do they want us to know about this stuff? What is the real motive?
Based on all of the coverage that I have been watching on this and my own analysis, I have come to a conclusion that I hope everybody take into consideration. Race. The McCain-Palin campaign is focusing on White America. They want White People to vote for them so that they can win. Forget the issues for just a second and read between the lines of what McCain and Palin is trying to do. They want you, White America, to believe that Barack Obama, a man with Africa in his blood as many of us, is dangerous. Here’s the stereotypical math. African-American Man + Power = Dangerous. The McCain-Palin campaign wants you, White America, to be racist, prejudice, and intolerant enough to not even consider the notion that a good African-American male with a story of humble beginnings who has risen to the occasion time and again for the greatness of us all can be president of our nation. Many McCain-Palin supporters have the mentality that they “supposedly” have no problems with having an African-American hold the position of our nation’s President but just not Barack Obama. That is distraction #1.
The #2 distraction comes in the form of being liberal. Many people are trying to make it seem like being liberal is a crime against humanity. Many people are trying to taint what being liberal is really all about. In fact, there is a notion out there that Barack Obama is a radical. Yes, I said radical. The McCain-Palin campaign is hoping that if they can succeed with getting into voters’ heads somehow that Barack Obama is a radical or even a terrorist, communist, and socialist, then they would get more votes because people don’t like or trust radicals, communists, and socialists. They are trying to sell the notion that Barack Obama is so liberal that he is an extremist, which would make him a radical, communist, or socialist. Of course, this is nonsense and it’s obvious. Trust me. I am liberal and I know this. There is a huge difference between being just plain liberal and being a radical. Therefore, I say this again. Don’t fall for the okie-doke and read between the lines and actions that John McCain and Sarah Palin are saying and doing.
Distraction #3 comes in the form of relationships. Everybody has this thought pattern that the more we know about the candidates’ relationships, the better. Of course, everybody has various relationships with various people. We cannot help that we find out later how negative those people are or were. That is beyond us and those people were in our lives for the moments that they were for a reason. This does not say anything, anything about our judgment and our character. In the case of Bill Ayers, Barack Obama was 8 years old and Sarah Palin was even younger when this man was doing these terrorist things. Barack Obama served on a community charitable committee and was his neighbor. That does not mean he was “paling around with terrorists.” He was paling around community active organizations to help his community deal with such issues as poor education and poverty especially since the local government was not doing anything. Again, Palin and McCain are trying to bring doubt and fear into the minds of Americans over Barack Obama. Do not fall for it. It’s a trap.
I would like to advise the Obama-Biden campaign staff to not (and I mean, not) engage in the bullshit. I repeat. DO NOT ENGAGE IN THE BULLSHIT!! Yep, I had to say it. I had to cuss because it’s that serious. This has made me that mad. The only one that is Presidential in this election is Barack Hussein Obama. The only one. He should become President Barack Hussein Obama because he embodies a real US President. His middle name came from his Kenyan father and NOT the Iraqi dictator. Let’s get that straight right now. I believe in him to embody a real US President. I believe in him to become a better man and learn the most from serving all of us – the haters and supporters alike. He will serve and be one of the best presidents of all US History and time. I know this in my heart to the depth of my spirit.
I did not go from undecided to this ticket for just anything. So, sorry Sarah Palin and John McCain. The McCain-Palin ticket is NOT a good ticket. It’s a dangerous and evil one. I am not deaf, dumb, or stupid. I am voting for the good ticket – Barack Obama and Joe Biden. I am voting for the study and resolution of my nation’s issues. I am voting for real work towards getting our economy back on the right track. I am voting for the change that we need. Right now, the next 4 years, and if all goes well, the next 8 years. He will leave this nation with only two years left to become permanently energy independent and add the words “green collar” to our nation’s workforce. I can go on and on but the fact (not rhetoric) remains that he will bring true change to this nation. The corruption and greed will be gone. Reform will definitely happen how it is suppose to.
We deserve better than a Sarah Palin and John McCain. We deserve so much better and that betterment is with Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Therefore, let’s close the deal with the last days of campaigning and debating. Let’s turn the nation Blue if you want to refer to the electoral map. November 5th can bring us the hope and change that we need. They will answer the call and meet the challenge that we, the people despite our race, party, and worldview, give them from Day #1. McCain and Palin can care less about you, White America and otherwise. They just want your vote and that’s it. Is that what you want to happen? You vote for McCain and Palin so that they can ignore your problems and issues later like George Bush Jr. and Dick Cheney did?
It’s time for real change and real betterment, my fellow Americans regardless of race, party, and worldview. It’s time to stand up and say that we shall not be fooled or moved from voting for men who actually give a damn about our nation, our plight, and us all. Barack Obama and Joe Biden do not play mind games or any other games with our issues and our hearts at all. Let’s be real. They take our lives, our issues, and all of us seriously. It’s time to tell McCain and Palin…Game Over!!
Ok, John McCain. You asked the question. Let’s just hope that you are ready for the Real answer. In fact, I hope that you get your answer during the last debate and for the rest of this campaign. I hope that every doubter, hater, and whomever will get their answer. I mean, we know who the real Barack Obama is. If people did not, then no one would have insisted that he run for President. If people did not, then no one would be supporting him as much as they do. If people did not, then no one would be voting for him.
The Real Question should be…. Who is the Real John McCain? Who is the Real Sarah Palin? I mean, I don’t know about anybody else but those are my questions. These are people who have more than one face. John McCain and Sarah Palin are two-faced. They have been senile, erractic, nasty, and evil on the one hand. Then, they supposedly are claiming that they are about vetos, reform, spending cuts, and trickle down tax cut plans on the other hand.
If they are going to talk about who has relationships with whom, then let’s ask. What relationships have John McCain really had that are questionable? What relationships have Sarah Palin really had that are questionable? I mean, seriously. I believe that we should not engage in this argument but if they want to go that route, it’s only fair that questions be raised about them.
Personally, I would advise Obama to keep it real and answer all of the questions directly. Let people know about the whole tactical strategy of John McCain and Sarah Palin is to use what happened during the Democratic Primaries especially in reference to Hillary Clinton’s strategy to win the presidential nomination and Joe Biden’s arguments during those primary debates to distract the American public from the issues and make themselves look good to be voted for. It is a mental game and voting trap. It is not best to listen to these two-faced people.
How can they say that McCain and Palin care about you when all that they want from you is your vote? How can they say that they care about you when they do not respect their competition and constantly evade the real issues our nation is facing? How can they say that they will keep us safe when they want to put many of our nation’s troops constantly in harm’s way by wanting to indefinitely continue the Iraq war? How can they say that they care about healthcare when they want to tax you up the wazoo as employees? How can they say that they care about energy independence but don’t care about creating green jobs or having a concrete timeline of getting us energy independent?
How can they say that they care about the economy when they act erractic and senile in crises? How can they say that they care about education when they do not have a real plan for making it better? How? John McCain says that he “does not need help in telling the truth especially from a Chicago politician.” Well, that’s why the state of Illinois is voting for…who? Barack Obama. That state is not stupid, neither is my state of California, my homeboy’s state of Michigan, or the entire Northeast and other west coast states. We are not stupid. We see right through John McCain and Sarah Palin.
