By now the Republicans would be doing the dirty work of speaking about all the dirty secrets and past indescretions of their oponent. Being the President means having to let your opponent, whether A Clinton or a Castro know you are not going to back down in a verbal or military engagement. Texans like peole who speak their mind, speak directly eye-to-eye, and are not crossing their fingers behind their back or holding out their right hand while they have their trigger on the handgun in their left hand. We have cockfights, rattlesnake round-ups and illegal gambling on football games.
To win Texas the Obamas will need to show they have the toughness of LBJ and the ladylike conduct of Lady Bird who no matter what she thought in private never was known to the voters until years after his death.
Don"t worry about the Republicans until you have the whole Democratic party including the Clintons endorsing you.
Right now you need to start making references to how ladylike your wife is, how some constituants hold the White house in the same esteem as any of our national treasures and that you will regard it with the same reverence and respect.
You need to let the Hispanics know that you are in a much beter position than Hillary to get them the best treatment when in this country. Your health bill will not be fining people who don"t yet have enough money to get health benefits. What is her proposed bill going to do to get the illegal immigrants care when they cross over to have their babies? Or cut|break their leg while sneaking in?
She owes PACS favors. No one gets a free ride...ask anyone that has ever attended a Time-share weekend sales presentation package! Ask anyone how hard it is to say no when you have sold raffle tickets, girl scout cookies, etc....then YOU are approached by that person with their child's money-making project! It ALWAYS comes back. Even volunteering for our candidates gives us the satisfaction of knowing we have helped choose the person who will most get our country in the mindset and condition we think it should be in. Even this site gives us scores and ranks us by how much of a help we have been...based no doubt on a rating scale someone proudly worked days, perhaps weeks on. Have no doubt that the ones who have called even one relative may have gotten thousand of votes as the news spread.
Please heed my advice. In summary speak the truth and that includes some of the ugly truths that are firmly backed by published facts, because McCain is not going to be nice. It's not in his gamebook. j
