ter⋅ror⋅ism /ˈtɛrəˌrɪzəm/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [ter-uh-riz-uhm] Show IPA –noun 1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes. 2. the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization. 3. a terroristic method of governing or of resisting a government. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/terrorism
The murder of Dr. George Tiller is THE classic definition of Terrorism.1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes.
Upcoming doctors are AFRAID they or their families will be harmed if they provide abortions.2. the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization.
"Carhart, 67, is one of a handful of remaining doctors in the United States who perform third-trimester abortions, and it is uncertain if a new generation of providers will take over the cause. Schools and universities don't offer many programs to train physicians on how to perform the procedure, and Carhart said younger doctors who might be interested in stepping forward are afraid they or their families will be harmed."http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090603/ap_on_re_us/us_the_next_tiller/print
The alleged murderer of Dr. George Tiller had a bigger agenda than simply murdering a man. His earlier problems with the law concerning his involvement with some Pro-Life groups attest to that fact. This alleged murderer not only conveyed his message of terror to Doctors, but also to the Government, IMO.3. a terroristic method of governing OR OF RESISTING A GOVERNMENT.
Abortion is LEGAL in this country!
However, these terrorist acts are making an impact.
How many more Doctors will be intimidated into refusing to perform a legal and needed operation before the legality of abortion doesn't matter anymore? When will laws start being used equitably? When will the murderers of Doctors that perform abortions going to be called and charged with what they are?
Terrorists.
Why isn't Dr. Tiller's alleged murderer also charged with terrorism?
He IS a Terrorist!
If you don't believe ME; try checking out the dictionary sometime.
I keep thinking about the American people that bought houses that they KNEW they couldn't afford. (if something looks too good to be true; it probably is) Is that a popular thing to say? no. But, there really is something to be said for personal responsibility. Having said that; those homeowners have already paid for their greed by losing those homes. They paid for their mistake. According to Sen. Pelosi; Congress is blameless in this mess. The one that whipped up the Bill that DE-REGULATED the Banks in the first place(Gramm-Leach-Blily Act of 1999) is the CURRENT Financial ADVISOR for Sen. John McCain! So, apparently, they are blameless in this mess too. Has Wall Street or the Government paid for their perfidy? no.
Please check out this link for an idea that might work for the Banks, Government AND Taxpayers!
http://www.time.com/time/business/article/0,8599,1843659,00.html?iid=digg_share
(hint)The American taxpayer might look more kindly on a financial bailout of this mess if it is WE who get the benefits and the ones who put us in this hole are actually punished!
Dear Sen. Obama,
Let me start out by saying that I think a lot of you. I like the fact that, unlike McCain, you seem to have a good, level head on your shoulders.
I also want to say that I am tired of the "spin". It is a regular thing with the McCain camp. Take one or two sentences out of context and change the whole point. No one can know the whole truth without research and factchecking!
Please Sen. Obama, make sure that the ads being put out in your name are factual and not just "spin". The healthcare ad takes a couple of McCain's quotes out of context and makes them something else entirely.
That kind of advertising makes you look bad. It also makes it look like you are dishonest too!
I have high hopes for us if you win the election. But, I don't think that will happen if people start feeling like they can't trust you.
I think you are better than that! Hitting back hard doesn't mean that any facts have to be slanted. McCain gives you plenty of bone-headed ammunition!
Please Sen. Obama, stick to the facts. We are already dizzy from McCain's "spinning" of the facts. We don't need more.

p.s. oh and btw, having an opinion does not make me a troll. lol
Yahoo came out with a poll that says a lot of whites won't vote for Obama just because he is black. Well, DUH! Did anyone REALLY think that there was no more racism in our Country?
However, the only thing that Yahoo's Poll did, in effect, is prove that the entire poll was rascist! Anyone who is NOT rascist wouldn't even be ABLE to answer those questions.
Example from the Poll: How does each of these words describe most blacks?Hardworkingviolentdependablelazycomplaininggood neighbors(you get the idea)
If you are NOT prejudice you can speak about specific people that you know; but using generalities like Yahoo Polls did (generalities to describe a whole race of people) is, in itself, racist!
I am sure that I have some racism in me. I have never met anyone who didn't. However, this POLL is a crock!
It is based on a wrong assumption. The assumption that ANYONE can fit an ENTIRE race of people into certain little boxes.
Not ALL blacks are law-breakers. Not ALL blacks are law-abiding. Not ALL blacks are friendly. Not ALL blacks are unfriendly. etc., etc.
I WOULD have to say though, that ALL blacks are just like ALL whites, in that they have good days and bad ones. Sad days and happy ones. Angry days and helpful ones. Families that they love and that love them. Hard times and Good times.
People (of any race) cannot be pegged into little boxes; like Yahoo tried to do.
Yahoo Polls, before you try to take the splinter from my eye; take the beam from your own.

After everybody lost their minds (and their money) in the '20s, they came up with the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933, which started regulating banks. (excellent idea)
(I am skipping a LOT of history here, so bear with me.)
Sen. Phil Gramm (and 2 others) wrote the GRAMM-Leach-Blily Act of 1999 which DEREGULATED Banking. (IT'S A FREE-FOR-ALL, FOLKS!)(emphasis is mine)
Since then, with little/no Governmental oversight, the banks have lost their minds too! 1)Giving loans to people that they should have KNOWN could not afford them. 2)Loans given based on nothing but a signature.3)Seat-of-the-pants Banking became the "norm."
Since being DEREGULATED, our banks are failing fast. As is our economy.
Who has a good chance of becoming the Secretary of the Treasury if Sen. John McCain is elected President?
Sen. Phil Gramm; Who wrote the Bill that STARTED this {Deregulated} Seat-Of-Your-Pants Banking System!
I feel like Alice Through the Looking Glass.
Put the one who BROKE it in charge of FIXING it?
HUH???
Bush and Cheney ignored Congressional Subpeonas with impunity.
Bush and Cheney's Aides ignored Congressional Subpeonas with impunity.
Now, Alaskan state employees and Gov. Palin's own HUSBAND is ignoring Congressional Subpeonas with impunity.
So, if I someday receive a Subpeona; I can just ignore it, right?
Or, do I have to become a Republican to get that perk?
Senator John McCain remarked, "I have to admit it; I am really enjoying this."
(leans back in his chair and lights his cigar; grins)
See; these days, everybody is caterwauling about "change".But, they don't really want it.No; it's true! They don't.They just want to make it LOOK like they are voting for change.
(winks and takes a puff of his cigar)
That is why I was having trouble looking like the clear winner that I am in this Presidential Campaign. You know; old white guy with LOTS of political experience. (same-ole/same-ole)
(chuckles)
Bet you didn't expect me to ask a woman to be my vice-president; did you?
(laughs)
Well, from what I can tell, people want change as long as everything can actually stay the same. I can handle that part, myself. But, if it takes putting a pretty woman on the ticket to get people to vote for me; so be it.
I will be the real power behind the throne!
(laughs heartily; face flushing)
I have to tell you what REALLY makes me laugh; those rabid Clinton supporters!
Those hens got so burned up about Obama "taking" the nomination from MIZ Clinton; that they came straight to me!
(chuckles to himself)
then:
(leans forward; face serious)
Ya know, I have never went out of my way to treat women as equals. Frankly, I don't see the need. I mean, if women really cared about ANY of the issues, then they would be following Obama; since he is the closest in ideas to Clinton.
Instead, these cackling hens, er, I mean fine women, are apparently ok with opposing everything that they have, so far, worked so hard for!
Apparently, all these cluckers care about is that the candidate has a nice rack! Well, A rack anyway.
So, I gave 'em one!
(shakes with laughter)
Now, with Sarah, I have no doubt that Republicans will win the White House this year.
She doesn't have to have any experience to help me win.
I mean, really, the issues mean nothing to the American People.
They just care that the "right" people are in office.
And I have ALWAYS known that I am the right man for the President's job!
(grins; chuckles; leans back; puffing contentedly on his stoagie)
What an amazing time to be a citizen of The United States of America!
2008 will be remembered by our descendents as the year a woman and a black man proved to the world that The United States of America actually IS a nation built on diversity!
Historically, you would expect that the United States was mainly made up of rich, white men!(grin)
I am, by no means, trying to dishonor those talented (and brave) men and women that paved the way for Hillary and Barack to get this far in politics. Without those that came before them; there would be no Hillary and Barack.
While I am THRILLED that Barack Obama is my (Democrat) Presidential Candidate; I am also so very proud of Hillary Clinton.
Whether you love her or hate her; she is an inspiration to us all! In fact, I bet in a hundred years or so, history books will talk a lot more about Hillary Clinton and her accomplishments than her husband; the ex-President.
Nothing against Bill Clinton, but Hillary Clinton is a Powerhouse. She has shown a lot of strength, wisdom and grace. And, when it became clear that Barack Obama was the choice; she showed CLASS!
History will remember her as a woman that not only put "18 Million cracks in the glass ceiling", but also as the woman that actually BROKE that ceiling!
Because of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, our daughters and sons can aspire to be WHATEVER they want to be; whatever their race; whatever their gender! And I am so proud of them!
The first black man in United States' history to become a major party candidate for President! Hopefully, Barack Obama will soon BE the President of The United States!
We live in an exciting time, folks! Lets not take anything for granted. But, we can and should CELEBRATE these history-making events!
I am tired of Democrats being painted as immoral heathens!Ah, that's right; that makes Republicans the angels....
I am sick of it!Know what? God himself gave EVERY human freedom of choice! Their choices are a personal matter; as are the CONSEQUENCES of each choice.
Take, for example, the choice between carrying a pregnancy to term and abortion.
A whole lot of Democrats are People of Faith too. Republicans don't have a monopoly on faith.
Most people, be they Democrat or Republican, don't take the choice to terminate (or proceed with) a pregnancy lightly. Nor, should they.
But, lets look at consequences.
Say a woman gets pregnant and wants an abortion; for whatever reason. She will bear the burden of whatever she decides for the rest of her life! SHE will; not a person with an opposing viewpoint and not the Government.
She will be the one judged by God for her choices; NOT anyone else! She will be the one to take the punishment if she makes the wrong choice; no one else will take it for her.She will be the one that risks her life to carry that baby to term. Not all Mothers make it through the pregnancy!
If God gave all of us humans the power to make our own choices, who are you or our Government to makes those choices FOR us???
Abortion is LEGAL. That fact should be remembered.Women still die in childbirth. THAT fact should be remembered.Women can have strokes, hemorrhage to death, sometimes even end up being vegetables for the rest of their lives. THAT fact shoulde be remembered.
Are People of Faith going to switch places with her and live out her life for her if something goes wrong with the pregnancy?
No, SHE will bear the consequences of all of those things. Whether good or bad. Whether physically, mentally, emotionally or religiously....
A lot of this subject is about respect. (Or lack of respect; as the case may be) Do you respect women enough to make their own health choices? Or do you only care about the unborn?
Maybe someday, there will be a time when every pregnancy is totally safe for both Mother and Child. Or a time when no woman that doesn't CHOOSE to get pregnant; won't. THEN, would be the proper time to revisit this topic.
But, until it IS completely safe; no one else should have the right to make those kinds of decisions FOR you! THEY aren't the ones that could end up in that bed or dead because of that decision.
I respect Republican's views, but Republicans need to respect Democrat's views, too.
Bottom line; SHE is the one taking the risks. SHE should be the one making the decisions.
Just my opinion. Take it or leave it. :)

Well, Sen. Obama has finally picked his running-mate; and I never would have thunk it.
While I believe that Sen. Obama will be spending a bit of time defending and explaining offending remarks that Sen. Biden will probably be making; all in all, it was a very smart choice.(In my humble opinion.)
Sen. Obama is a very intelligent guy. Intelligent enough to recognize his own weaknesses and work to strengthen them. Sen. Biden may not have been the most popular choice, but he is a smart one.
Republicans are snarking about how Sen. Obama doesn't have enough Political experience to be President. So, he chose a running mate with even more experience than Sen. McCain.
Republicans have been whining that Sen. Obama doesn't have enough foreign policy experience. So, he chose a running mate with even more experience than Sen. McCain.
Sen. Obama isn't an old, white man.( Like the ones on dollar bills.)grin.Sen. Biden might very well make a lot of undecided voters finally decide to give Sen. Obama a chance.
While both Sen. Obama and Sen. Biden are good to great speakers; the similarities end there.Sen. Obama has tact and a way with words that inspires people and makes them hope again.Sen. Biden is a straight-shooter that isn't afraid to speak bluntly.
Sen. Obama has good ideas, the right attiude, thoughtfulness and diplomacy to lead this country.Sen. Biden has the experience and bluntness to not only help formulate these plans, but also to reach the voters that don't want pretty speeches. They just want the blunt truth.
While I realize that some voters will take this choice of running-mate as more of the same politics that we are trying to change; I disagree.
The best way to change anything is from the inside. Yes, Sen. Biden is an old hand at politics. Yes, Sen. Obama is the new guy on the block. But, put their strengths together and you have a very smart partnership for the American People.
Where one is hot-headed; the other is diplomatic and a thinker.Where one is considered naive; the other lost his naivete a long time ago.
Where one can inspire hope in the American People; the other can clarify for them the nitty-gritty details.Where one might not have the Political backers; the other one does.
Together, I think the Obama-Biden partnership is a force to be reckoned with!
Ok. I can appreciate coincidence. But, this is pretty strange.I am a married, 40 yr. old housewife. German, Scots and Irish descent; so basically as white as you can get.lol (White enough to blind you.)However, I married into a mostly German family that is related to Barack Obama. (Yes, on his Mom's side.)Har de har har
I just found this out and I think it is pretty cool!
Barack Obama's Great Great Great Great Grandma (4 greats) was Catherine Goodnight Dunham. My Father-in-law's Great Great Great Great Grandma (4 greats) was Matilda Goodnight. (I am not sure of her married name.)Catherine Goodnight and Matilda Goodnight were sisters.
Does that make my husband 6th cousins 4 times removed?Beats the heck out of me!But, pretty exciting for a white middle-class Hoosier. lol
Oh my! My fiercely Republican Dad is gonna LOVE this one! ROFL

The North Vietnamese captors of John McCain are acting like he is their favored son. And, from the looks of this photo of John McCain and Col. Bui Tin hugging in 1991, Sen. McCain returns that affection.
http://heyjude.name/images/mcain_bu.gif
Tran Trong Duyet, the former warden of Hoa Lo prison, better known as the ``Hanoi Hilton,'' where McCain spent 5 1/2 years, dreams of a free-trade agreement with his country's old capitalist enemy.
Many are also convinced that McCain, 71, the Republican candidate for president, will repay them for having shown him ``mercy'' after his mission ended prematurely on Oct. 26, 1967, low in Hanoi's flak-filled skies. (Hans Nichols in Hanoi at hnichols2@bloomberg.net)
McCain, an Arizona senator, credits ``a woman, who may have been a nurse'' with yelling at the crowd and taming their anger. She offered him herbal tea and put bamboo splints on his broken bones.
Today, that nurse, Nguyen Thi Thanh, says her ``first feeling was to look at him as a patient'' and not the enemy.
The woman, now an 81-year-old grandmother of five, is also hoping for a McCain victory, because of the prospect of greater trade, she said in an interview, granted with the government's permission. He will remember that ``he has enjoyed the government's mercy'' and repay the country in kind, she said. (Hans Nichols in Hanoi at hnichols2@bloomberg.net)

(Touching isn't it?)
However, he reserves far different treatment for the families of POW-MIAs that are still missing in Vietnam.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CazKanlYDg
Less than three weeks EARLIER, on Oct. 23, 1992, in a ceremony in the White House Rose Garden, President Bush — with John McCain standing beside him — said: “Today, finally, I am convinced that we can begin writing the last chapter in the Vietnam War.”(Exactly what McCain wrongly brought the witness to tears about.)
The family members of missing POW and MIAs expected Sen. McCain to be a big help to them in getting back their men. Instead, he became their biggest obstacle in investigating the whereabouts of and return of our POWs in Vietnam.
"McCain once said of the families: 'The people who have done these things are not zealots in a good cause. They are criminals and some of the most craven, most cynical, and most despicable human beings to ever run a scam.'
Sen. McCain demanded and received a U.S. Justice Department investigation of the two major POW/MIA activist groups. Of course, no fraud as McCain alleged was ever found. The families were left angry and mystified as to why McCain had betrayed them. McCain succeeded and the trade embargo against communist Vietnam was lifted, and there has never been a full accounting of North Vietnamese atrocities against American POW’s." [McCain's Knife-Wielding Captor Leads Vietnam in Rooting for Him] (Hans Nichols in Hanoi at hnichols2@bloomberg.net)
I am disappointed in Barack Obama right now. I never expected anything good about Sen. McCain, so not a big surprise that he is constantly using misleading truths and outright lies about Sen. Obama in his ads. But, I expected better from Sen. Obama. He strikes me as a "stand-up guy."
However, lately I have seen some new ads on television from Sen. Obama that disturb me. These ads use the same tactics that were so disgusting to me in Sen. McCain's ads!
Yes, I believe that Sen. McCain is basically clueless about most things. I believe he is too old and set in his ways to make a good President. I believe he doesn't have the right temperment or mentality to improve our economy or be the Commander-in-Chief of our Armed Forces. I believe that he would lead us in 4 more years of the same thing we are getting with George W. Bush.
I am not sure our Country would survive it and I am REALLY sure that he would not improve things!
Using dated(misleading) and partial quotes(misleading) of Sen. McCain is stooping to the same slimy politics-as-usual that Americans are SICK of!
I cannot argue that Sen. Obama is a straight-up-guy when he is using the same slimy tactics as Sen. McCain!
The American People DESERVE a President with Good Integrity! I have been keeping up with things at FactCheck.org and was not surprised to see a LOT more lies and false insinuations from the McCain camp than the Obama's!
But, the number of Sen. Obama's ads that are misleading are beginning to look a lot more even with Sen. McCain's lousy tactics. Frankly, it isn't even NECESSARY when Sen. McCain shows us almost daily how clueless and out-of-touch he is!
I see Sen. Obama as a very intelligent, patriotic and diplomatic man with a lot of personal integrity. I would like to continue to see him that way. But, I am having trouble doing that when Sen. Obama's ads take a page from Sen. McCain's slimy playbook.
I am disappointed and expect better from Sen. Obama. The American People DESERVE better from him!
update:
Sure! I should have been more specific anyway. The ad in particular that I am talking about is being run in Indiana. I have no idea if it is showing elsewhere or not.
It shows soundbytes of McCain stating different things. Namely, his quotes back in January talking about how the economy is doing great, unemployment being down, Americans being better off than they were, etc. Interspersed with that is soundbytes of regular folks talking about how worried they are about losing their homes, their jobs, etc.
McCain has since changed what he says about those things. Personally, I think one of his advisors drilled into him that he can't be seen as that out-of-touch.lol
My point being; McCain has been using misleads and downright lies in his attacking ads on Sen. Obama. You can go to factcheck.org to check it out for yourself. Using such old quotes(while ignoring his current ones) makes Sen. Obama look like he is trying to do the same thing.
Do me a favor; go to factcheck.org and count how many times McCain has used deceptive practicesin his Ads. Just a month ago; it was about 10-1 on the ads they checked out. With McCain being the 10, of course. But, Sen. Obama's ads are popping up more and more and I don't like that. Not to mention the fact that it makes Sen. Obama look slippery with the truth; and I don't think he is that way at all!
Hope that clarifies things.
As far as my being a Troll....whatever. Last I checked everyone is allowed their own opinions...and you are allowed yours too.
Have a great day, all!

Hi folks,
My name is Jude Bourff and I am a married Mom of one daughter. I am a stay-at-home Mom that happens to own my own Website, Design Jewelry and Affiliate Market online when I have the time.
I am a Democrat in a small, mostly Republican, town in Indiana.
I may not agree 100% with all of the views of Senator Obama, but he is as close as I am going to get. :) I am excited about the future; for the first time in a lot of years. Sen. Obama has done that for me.
Apparently, he is having that affect on a lot of voters.
In my opinion, We the People have been derelict in our duty as Citizens for far too long. We have sat back and allowed our Government to take our freedoms; while our Soldiers are across the Ocean fighting for another Country's freedoms. Can anyone explain that Oxymoron to me?
Change isn't just a buzzword to We the People. At this point in history, it is a necessity.
Just my opinion.Jude Bourffhttp://heyjude.name
