Hi everybody my name is Jorge Kosturakis Jr, I am a U.S. that is actually right now living in Mexico, I live four hours away from the border el paso tx, juarez chihuahua.
My concern is that we live in a world that as every day goes and goes by we start to see more violence. This violence were I live here in Mexico it is very disturbing to put it in a way, the thing is that I love both countries very much, I grew up part of my life in Mexico since my parents are mexican citizens, but I lived also part of my life in the United States, I got my degree in Political Science from the University of Texas at El Paso, I can tell you the greats school experience I had ever had in the whole years that I attendet school since pre-school.
My dileme is what is that you Mr Obama you are willing to make for the United STates of America to secure the nation, we all know that the main problem of drugs is not just Mexico, Latin America, please we have to open the blinds, wake up and smell the coffee from crying out loud, The United States of America is the NUMBER ONE CONSUMER OF DRUGS IN THE WORLD!!! do not take me wrong because it is for my eyes the greatest nation in the WORLD ALSO, but we have to remember history always, look back at Rome the greatest empire in the known world then, and what brought down that empire, their vices, their out of control ambitions; I say in order to be a great nation, in order to be the greatest nation in the world we need to have ambitions, and we will have vices, but what kind of vices, how long are we going to be able to hang to this great nation and not be consumed by all the drugs that are entering the country.
I hear all over the news that mexico is in a war with drugs, that the cartels are getting into the communities of mexico, and the government of mexico, please review all these facts, because I know they are true, but how in the hell are the drugs leaving mexico and arriving to the U.S., right now is not the time to take pride that the U.S. is not corrupt, that we are a country that have no problems of this kind, please look at the streets of L.A. Atlanta, the drugs in the penal system, all those inmates that get their hands on drugs, how in the world did columbian cocaine, mexican pot got into a San Francisco penitentiary, please our natioanl security does not come from the outside, we need to start from the inside, and in order to clean up the system, to be secure, is basically investigate everybody who might have links, ask questions, to get to the truth.
I always take pride in my country, I always defend this great country that has over come every obstacle that anyone can imagine, but we still need to protect ourselves from ourselves, from our selfishness, putting up a wall to isolate us from the world is not the answer for natioanl security, hey help poeple that want to work hard and make a living and make tha american dream, do not destroy it, but embrace it, be proud that people want to work in this great country embrace that ideal, we fought against the berlin wall so long, and now we are doing worse than that with our borders, learn from china, a country that isolated it self from the world and went through hell, and know maybe the fastest growing economy in the world and becoming a threath to the U.S. and instead of us opening our country we close ourselves, and our economy declines, we live in a global world Mr Obama, what will you do, all opf these will be a matter of national security? and also I ask not to do the mistake of Mr Clinton cutting our forces 1/3, in this uncertain world our forces more than ever need to grow, need to be more powerful, we do not need to forget one great nation must always have the greatest military force, and we take pride on that, but we must maintain it, as rome did in their time, but we need to take care of our drug problems, our vices, we need to educate people in order to have a greater country.
PLEASE DO NOTE I AM REPLUBLICAN, AND VOTED FOR BUSH, I HAVE TO ADMIT I DID IT, AND IN SOME WAYS REGRET IT, I WILL GIVE MY FULL SUPPORT TO YOU MR OBAMA IF NATIONAL SECURITY IS EMBRACED IN EVERY WAY IS NEEDED, FROM THE INSIDE, NOT FROM THE OUTSIDE FIGHTING NATIONS, THAT IT WILL HAVE TO HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE, BUT BE MORE TOLERANT, BE MORE EDUCATED NATION, GET RID OF DRUGS, OF THE CORRUPTION IN OUR BORDERS, BECAUSE THAT IS THE WAY THE GET IN. PLEASE ANYONE WHO READS THESE IDEAS I AM OPEN TO IDEAS, AND MR OBAMA IF YOU COULD GIVE AN ANSWER YOUR SELF PLEASE DO.( I KNOW IS A LONG SHOT JEJEJEJE)
