My dear fellow Obama Supporters,
It seems to me throughout the election season, others have held negative opinion of us as a whole, to be hateful, disruptive and too disrespectful. I'm going to ask you all to be open-mind and patient as you read me out. This is a letter of advice for all of us to gain support with people and make less enemies.
According to Dale Carnegie, the famous human reltions expert in business world, "you can ONLY get the best out of an argument by avoiding it". For example, if you were a proud car sales rep, and one day a prospect comes in and tells you this during the conversation: "I love Chevvy trucks, there no way a Ford can beat a Chevvy truck in the same class!!"
How would you immediately feel? What will be your response? Suppose you point out directly that he's dead wrong on the issue, and Ford is the only truck worthy of praise. Surely the prospect will be defensive, feel threatened, and hardened his/her opinion.
Remember!!!!!! It's not the opinion that's valuable, but the person's EGO.
How you should react in this situation is, say "Yes, I agree Chevvy trucks are made by a very good company, and they have one of the best reputations out there" The person couldn't possibly keep talking about Chevvy trucks for very long. The sooner we get over the "chevvy truck talk" the sooner we star the "Ford truck talk"
And plz add "I may be wrong" even if you know cerntainly you are right, it makes all the differences between a open-minded person, and a closed, defensive one!!
Good luck out there and hope for the best!!!
Your friend & Obama supporter
