I expect failed policies from the Republicans, but I'm outraged and sickened to see the Democratic leadership bending over backwards to protect the health care industry at the expense of orporate America, small businesses, heatlh professionals and individuals and more specifically this country's GNP, all of which depend upon a change in the status quo. Wyden, whom I've long admired suggests we abdicate health care to the states, and Baccus, despite the will of his own constituency, refuses to even consider a single payer system--the same system that the OMB suggests will offer the most savings. What's with these guys?!
I say to each and every Senator who will not support the creation of a natinoal public health plan as a minimum reform measure, take my policy and I'll take yours. We can meet back in a year and see how you're doing. I suspect you'll be crying uncle. We've waited long enough to fix this broken system. It's time you accept the reality--Health is a necessity, and this country can no longer treat medical care as a commodity--and step up.
