Go to the Iowa Caucus Center and click on Step-by-Step for an excellent tutorial on how the Iowa Caucus works!
Let's win this!
According to the Des Moines Register poll, Barack Obama leads in Iowa with 28% of likely Democratic cacusgoers, Clinton at 25%, Edwards at 23%.
If I'm not mistaken, the Register is probably one of the few pollers that has bought the Iowa voter file and therefore, has potentially more accurate polling results. However, it's important to remember that this caucus will likely bring in more young caucusgoers than in 2004.
Great news!
Two recent polls indicate that Barack is rapidly closing the gap in New Hampshire with Sen. Clinton and now trails her by only a seven point margin! This from Sam Graham-Felsen's blog:
Today, Rasmussen released a poll of likely primary voters in New Hampshire which found Hillary Clinton at 33%, Obama at 27%, and Edwards at 15%.And on November 30th, a Fox News poll of likely New Hampshire Democratic voters showed Clinton at 30% followed by Obama at 23% and Edwards at 17%. Also notable in the Fox News poll: more voters said they would be very or somewhat satisfied with Obama (74%) as the Democratic presidential nominee than with Clinton (69%) as the nominee. While rival campaigns increase the attacks, voters in the critical early states increasingly agree that Barack Obama is the candidate with the honesty, integrity, and vision to bring about fundamental change in Washington -- change we can believe in.
Result of a national Zogby poll show that in a general election, Hillary Clinton would lose against all five top Republicans, while Barack Obama would defeat every one and by a great margin that John Edwards.
We need to elect a Democrat who can beat any Republican in the general election AND who has the greatest chance of bringing together Democrats, Republicans and Independents, both at the time of the election and once in office. Barack is the only candidate who fulfills both criteria.
Barack Obama is officially ahead in Iowa, according to the latest ABC News / Washington Post poll.
Generation Obama (GO) launched nationally on Saturday, August 25th and the St. Louis chapter participated with a party at Luna Lounge in the Central West End. St. Louis GO members were thrilled when Sen. Obama mentioned St. Louis first in a live audio address with 20 chapter cities! In attendance were 80 supporters, a few local elected officials and Channel 2 Fox Local News which filed a report on the evening news.

Making his debut at the GO launch was a "crafty" cardboard cutout of Barack Obama that will make appearances at local events. While he took a backseat during the senator's live audio address, he made quite a splash in the neighborhood on his way home. A group of dedicated supporters came up with the idea to bring a little fun to the campaign and generate excitement at events. They've also set up a blog to chronicle his adventures in St. Louis:

Barack will be in St. Louis on 5/11 at 4:30 for a rally at the Moolah Theater. Tickets may be purchased at: my.barackobama.com/stlouiskickoff
$500 tickets are also available for a fundraiser that evening. Anyone interested in this event may contact me directly at jenniferDharo@yahoo.com for more information.
Look forward to seeing you at the events! Let's make his visit to the area memorable!
Met Barack again at a small fundraiser in St. Louis on 2/22. Small gathering so he took questions, including why he has enough experience. "If experience were enough, then we'd be happy with Dick Cheney or Rumsfield. It is JUDGEMENT that's needed." He has more legislative experience than the other leading candidates.
My husband walked out as a confirmed supporter.
Decided to make my Primary contribution early so I could get into the first big private event, meet some folks on the campaign staff, and hopefully shake Barack's hand! Me and 1500 of his closest Chicago friends. Met some wonderful, long-term supporters who love him and appreciate all he's done. Almost everyone in the room was a friend. I met Lou Holland, a long-term supporter and also a frequent guest on Louis Rukeyser. Michelle introduced Barack and explained that they entered on this journey together, as a family. She does not want her children growing up in a nation on the path we're on. She knows Barack can change our country and he CAN win.
Barack gave an inspiring speech and reminded us that he needs our support, our time, our $.
Let's do it!
