So I'm working on a collage of photographs and memorabilia to commemorate the experience of volunteering with the Obama campaign prior to the Oregon primary election.
Let's see, there is a picture of my first activity, a Eugene for Obama sign waving during a rainy evening commute in South Eugene.
The photos and articles from the March 21st rally at Mac Court on the UO campus.
Newspaper clippings and pictures from the campaign office grand opening.
Photos of voter registration efforts out in the community and at the office.
Info about our sign waving at the DPO platform convention..
Date of first canvass (solo), when I locked keys and cell phone in car and got caught in down pour!
Random pictures of campaign staffers and volunteers (friends!) hard at work at the HQ.
Pictures and newspaper clippings of Michelle's visit to our office.
Info about our GOTV team canvasses in my rural "neighborhood" (long driveways, many dogs, many locked gates....)
Notes from election day events
Election night celebration flyer...
Next day news clippings
Obama campaign staff group picture on moving day...
Here's what I don't get... How could working on something for 2.5 months change someone's life so much for the better? I have felt so happy to be helping with a cause greater than myself, one that I feel will benefit not only my children, but all children. Like Barack says, "They're ALL our children".
I'm looking forward to gathering more memories from the general election campaign... coming soon to Oregon, and the other 49 states!!!
OBAMA '08____ BE A PART OF SOMETHING GREAT!
Signing off now...
