Did McCain just end his bid for president?

His entire campaign until this point has been about his belief that Obama does not have the experience required to be the president. Now his running mate is younger and has zero foreign policy experience. McCain said he would pick someone that would be ready to be president if something happened to him. He is 72 years old and has had issues with skin cancer in the past. He has contradicted himself on his own emphasis on the importance of experience and his statement that he would pick someone ready to be president if needed. Tell me what you think.
