Palin found not guilty by her personal Personnel Board!!!
Will wonders never cease!
(posted with tongue firmly in cheek)
I have a feeling that there is a group of Republicans who are going to vote for Obama, but publicly support McCain. These will be the people who hold positions of esteem or import in their "conservative" communities, and for whom non-support of McCain might damage their reputations and/or alienate their friends and associates.
I volunteer at the Public Library in Arcadia, California -- a wealthy, primarily Republican, community. I always wear an Obama T-shirt, and I have had quite a few people whisper to me that they like my shirt. They say it as if it's "our little secret." It's their way of letting me know that they're going to vote Obama.
I hope this is much bigger than my small experience...and I have a feeling that it is!
The first blog I posted had to do with McCain's choice of Sarah "I Kill for Fun" Palin. It was written the day of the announcement, well before Palin was vetted -- something McCain clearly didn't do. Now, we've all seen what poor judgment McCain exercised in the most important decision he could make in his campaign.
Now, he has propelled this guy, "Bob the Builder" as I'll call him, into the national spotlight to attack Obama. You all know who I'm talking about, but I can't bring myself to use the generally accepted nickname -- which lies about his occupation.
I briefly thought that this guy must have been a McCain plant to trap Obama with his now proven false claims (not a licensed plumber, not intending to buy a business as he claimed). Then, I thought he couldn't be a McCain plant because he's turned out to be such an embarrasment. Yet, McCain's campaign is still using that guy -- and multiple variations -- on the stump.
But then I come back to Palin. McCain chose her, and look at what she has shown herself to be under that pretty face of hers. "Bob the Builder" is no better. He is now using his 15 minutes of infamy to try to land book and record deals. Watch for a TV movie now that "Bob" has hired a publicist.
These two things should give everyone great pause. Why? McCain chose these two people. Who would he choose for cabinet posts? Supreme Court seats? Advisors? Will it be new, unvetted people, or the old RNC guard -- if any remain? Neither is an acceptable choice to me.
McCain does not have what it takes to be president. He has shown himself to be:
The prospect of a McCain / Palin administration terrifies me. If by some act of evil they should win, I will seriously consider returning to the land of my ancestors: Holland!

I Baracked my vote today!
I drove 60 miles (roundtrip) on the mean freeways of Los Angeles County to get to the County Registrar's office. I was in and out within a half-hour. It was a smooth process, and the poll workers were all very friendly and helpful.
On the way home, my front driver's side tire decided to shred at a point where there was no shoulder. I had to fight my steering wheel until I reached a point where there was a shoulder.
Now, I've never changed a tire in my life. If I were on a country lane with no traffic to speak of, I might have given it a try. But I was on a major freeway, parked next to semi-tractor-trailers flying past at 65 mph. So, I called non-emergency 911 and, within 15 minutes, both a California Highway Patrol officer and an LA County Freeway Service Patrol truck came to my rescue. The serviceman put on my "donut" tire, and I was on my way home.
Now, normally, I would have been really upset about the tire incident. In fact, it probably would have ruined my whole day. Instead, I was (and still am) feeling so good about having voted early, that even this incident did not shake my mood.
I tell you this long story for one reason: To let you know that you, too, can get a boost of pride and joy by casting your vote early, as permitted in your State.
Love to Grandma Toot!
Every woman's nightmare, that is!
No matter how much $$$ the RNC and/or the McCain campaign spends on her external image, she is tarnished from within. All the haute couture in the world can't hide that kind of ugliness.
A better investment for her image -- and the McCain campaign -- would have been a ball gag!
ROFLMAO
I want a man with a slow hand.
I want a leader with an easy touch.
I want somebody who will spend some time,
Not come and go in a heated rush. (McCain)
I want somebody who will understand,
When it comes to the White House, I want a slow hand.
I don't think the Pointer Sisters will be upset that I "borrowed" and slightly revised this refrain from their hit, "Slow Hand". I'm not making any money from this usage. lol
Enjoy!
Please join me in making a campaign donation on Thursday or Friday (Oct. 23-24) in honor of Senator Obama's trip to see his ailing grandmother. It would be a travesty if she passed before she has the chance to see her beloved grandson assume the Presidency, which I pray and believe that he will.
Perhaps an influx of donations in her honor will buoy her spirits and sustain her so that she may celebrate with Obama his incredible achievement, made possible in large part by her influence on his development.
I'm sure that the McCain/Palin campaign will try to put a negative spin on the fact that Barack is taking two days off the campaign trail. I'm also sure that whatever attack they come up with will spew forth from the ugly soul and mouth of Sarah Palin. Let's shut them up with a highly visible show of financial support of our candidate.
I'm going to make a donation on Thursday AND Friday to demonstrate my support of my candidate and his respect for the woman who raised him. If you can do the same -- even just $5.00 on Thursday and Friday -- we will make a loud statement that we support him and his priorities.
I just heard Orrin Hatch tell Andrea Mitchell that he wouldn't mind seeing someone who gets "emotional" in the White House. This was just one of many lame comments he made in support of his friend, John McCain.
Heaven help us all!
The last thing I want is an angry, short-tempered warmonger in charge of "The Button". Give me the cool, steady hand of Barack Obama over the manic behavior of John McCain any day.
With Barack Obama so close to winning the White House and shattering racial barriers, let us all pray to the Gods of our own understand that Madelyne "Toot" Payne Dunham lives to see the fruition of all the hard work she put into raising Obama.
As he has said, "she poured everything she had into me." It would be a devasting turn of events if she did not get to witness the end result of all her hard work.
Thank you, in advance, for joining me in this call to multi-faith prayer.
Peace and blessings to you all.
How DARE Sarah Palin talk about "Pro-America" people as being those located only in small towns, the likes of which produced her.
True, Palin doesn't "pal around with terrorists." She only SLEEPS WITH ONE! As you all know, Mr. Sarah Palin is a former member of the Alaskan Independence Party, which seeks to secede from the United States and "her damned institutions". And, of course, we all know that Palin gave a video address to the AIP, commending them for their work.
From the AIP official webite:
Alaskan Independence PartyIntroduction The following is the entry on the AIP in the University of California's Political Science Encyclopedia. It was not written by an AIP member and can be considered unbiased. "Political parties, both Republican and Democrat, dominate from Washington, D.C., and [don't] quite understand the political problems, or opportunities, in an arctic and subarctic country." (Country???)Walter J. Hickel"I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions." Joe Vogler

Now, she wants to lead the country she and her fellow Alaskans despise? Why don't I trust her motives???!!!
Feed your knowledge of the dangerous beliefs of Palin and her ilk. Visit the AIP's website and be disgusted for yourselves. I'll bet the "Forum" section is very telling. I'm just not in the mood to read a bunch of hateful rhetoric from this group. I'm getting enough of it from Palin on my daily news shows.

Why on earth would anyone in the "lower 48" vote for these extremists? By the way, did Hawaii secede already and I missed it??? Excuse me if I sound ignorant, but I thought the United States was comprised of 50 states!
There is one bright light to be found in McCain's pick of Palin: It has almost guaranteed his defeat. So, Sarah, I guess I shouldn't be mad at you after all. In fact, thank you John McCain for this ludricrous VP running mate pick. You sealed your own fate.
- "Knock, knock."
- "Who's there?"
- "Sarah Palin"
(horrifyingly, that's the punchline)
I saw a clip on MSNBC this morning of Palin saying that she is happy that she was found not guilty of legal or ethical violations. What report is she reading? The actual report finds her guilty of abusing the public trust, which is an ethical violation. Someone needs to make sure that swing voters don't buy her revisionist interpretation of the Commission's findings.
Keith and Rachel, please address her lie on your shows.
Joe...Can you take this one on the stump?
I'm SOOOOOO happy this came out before the election. Of course, the rabid supporters of the GOP ticket are going to rail against these findings, and their stubborn, closed, ignorant minds will not be changed. But, swing voters will see the truth. Swing voters are intelligent people who refuse to commit to anything until they have the full story. I'm glad this information has been made available to them as they consider their choices.
Does anyone know how I might serve to fight voter intimidation on November 4th? I live in Arcadia, but will travel to any surrounding city. I just want to be a presence to greet voters and, if needed, escort them to check-in. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you all!
Here is MSNBC's latest report on the damage to the environment resulting from the damage and destruction of off-shore oil platforms by Hurricane Ike.

One sunny spring day in 2009, an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he'd been sitting on a park bench.
