Hi gang,
I am so excited that this morning we know that Barack Obama WILL be our nominee for President of the United States. He ran a great campaign against a formidable candidate and he prevailed!
Also, I want to say how proud I am to be a member of this group. I have seen that we as a group have not Hillary bashed, as I have seen in other groups. We let Barack be our leader and we all took the high road. That cannot be discounted!
Today is a day of celebration! Everyone from New York to California and everywhere in between who worked for Barack Obama did their part. We made history together and in January 2009, God willing, we will have a new President who will elevate us and unite us once again.
The next part of our journey will begin soon but let us savor today! This is our time! Yes, we can!
Hey guys,
I am so energized this morning! NC came through in a BIG way and they are so amazing! Indiana did a WONDEFUL job - they worked their hearts out! We sat up with Melissa, Grace, Tim and Collin watching the returns until the "bitter" end! LOL It was really sweet!!!
You all are amazing also with your hard work here in PA and all your phone banking into NC and IN and I am so proud to part of this great group of Pennsylvanians!

Yes We Can
Hi Indiana folks! My name is Jana and I live in Southern Pennsylvania. I saw your "all welcome" sign and I am pleased to be part of your group. I just wanted to let you all know that there were a whole lot of us here volunteering and voting for Barack! Our Gettysburg College young people in our area worked their hearts out. Keep the fight going - there are a lot of PA people with you!!!
Thanks!

So for days now the Clinton campaign has been arguing that Mrs. Clinton should get the nomination because she won more electoral votes than did Obama! HUH??? This is an off-shoot of the Big State theory where we can forget how the people voted and concentrate on the pooh-bahs of the Democratic party. First, I thought we were in the primary phase where the pledged delegates are the ones that count. Secondly, Kerry overwhemingly carried New York, California and Michigan (and Michigan is a whole 'nother story) in 2004. Are we to believe that without HRC, these states will go Republican? Obama won Illinois, Virginia and Georgia - other big states. Florida, Ohio and Texas all went for the Republican in 2004.
This entire argument seems ridiculous and I am embarrassed for our own governor when he makes the talk show rounds spouting off this blather! He was at it again today!
Ten Reasons Why I Am Supporting Barack Obama1. Participation: he is getting people involved in the political process, many participating in primaries/caucuses who have never voted before.2. Principles: he understands how to state a principle, then apply it to various situations.3. Indignation and Alienation: this is a man who has spent real time working with and on behalf of those at the bottom of our society. He understands the the pain of poverty.4. Terrorism: he recognizes that our current attitudes/policies are fanning the flames of terrorism. He understands that to get along with others you have to be willing to talk with them.5. Listening: he has wise people around him, advising him and he is willing to listen and learn.6. War: he was opposed to the invasion of Iraq from the start. He did not buy into the military industrial complex that Ike warned us about.7. Race Relations: he represents hope for our nation and hope for the world that we can finally move beyond judging a person by the color of his skin.8. Campaigning: he is trying to demonstrate that a "decent" campaign can win, and that it is more important to talk about his vision than to try to put down his opponent.9. Leadership: he inspires, educates, explains and recognizes that we all have to participate in positive change. He will be a leader that other nations will respect.10. Positive Vision: he is addressing our hopes and dreams, rather than encouraging our fears.
