I like Obama, but he has made mistakes not doing the groundwork before he asked congress for the bill, and now is spending all his time making amends. His backing off on the public option makes him look like a wuss. Incumbent Dems will get the message if he backs the opposition in primaries to be on the ballot. No more Mr. nice guy Obama, healthcare reform is too important to your children and mine. Get off the healthcare for a moment and praise a gun toter for exercising his right under a state regulated militia. Also say criticism of stronger regulations, like those in NYC are also the constitutional right of states to regulate their militias. On seniors not wanting the medicare dollars cut (services) simply say "You paid less than 3% of income for the priveledge, should your grandchildren pay 20% for the same priveledge?" Get the House members to canvass their districts for non-profit/municipal clinics, hospitals, testing facilities and labs. Get them to all band together into one giant cooperative, under one controlling management system to optimize facility use and drive down costs by bulk purchasing everything from insurance, supplies, equipment and maintenance contracts. Put coin in to address startup costs, purchasing venues where the non-profit service is unavailable and the required reserves to sell insurance policies to the public. The inevitable growth that will occur should also have coin to expand their services, as non-profit won't have the extra coin when policy costs are averaged across the coop won't produce the revenue needed for expansion. Perhaps when an 80% of maximum usage is reached.
