Still reeling after having finished this book. Somehow, I knew, sensed from a while back, listening to the words in PE Obama's speeches, tiny, significant aspects mirrored back. A bit disturbing for me but also a deep sense of satisfaction and recognition. I will pass this book on to my daughter, nephews and nieces.

I read an article somewhere ( really getting lazy since I don't keep the links) that there has been a study and/or project about different educational methods. Is it really just a question of genes, intelligence(I.Q) which cause the student to do well and prosper? In this study, the results came out that it was in fact, the educational system based on values (integrity, tolerance,open-mindedness, fairness, fill in the blank) which enable a higher rate of success in the academic pursuit. However, I'm guessing those values are moderate( no extremism or heavy pronunciation of religious leaning in any way). I thought that was interesting since quite a few people seem to gnaw on the educational elitist bone.

this is really my 49th post.
I thought we had gotten rid of a very unpleasant right wing senator in our country's seven leading senators last December who is an embarassement,potentaily volatile and does not represent my country. The senator who replaced him last year in that dramatic ousting, just resigned after a year of intense bullying, personal and professional, by his own former right wing party for having stepped up to the plate.
The very unpleasant and I deem,dangerous, Senator is jockeying again for re-election. Think Sarah Palin times 10.
Update: he didn't make it;someone else from his party did.We shall see.
