Take Action: Senate Committee Ignores Outcry, Confirms Porn Lawyer

I already signed the following petition and called both Senators to ask them to oppose Obama's nominations for the Justice Department. I do not approve of such scumbags. On citizenslink.org I found some helpful iniformation.

Sen. Specter said he has never seen so much opposition from voters — 11,000 phone calls, letters and other contacts.

The Senate Judiciary Committee dealt a blow to cultural morals last week by approving David Ogden's nomination for deputy attorney general, meaning the full Senate could vote anytime.

Sen. Arlen Specter, the committee's ranking Republican, reportedly told National Public Radio he had never seen so much opposition from voters — 11,000 phone calls, letters and other contacts with the committee.

Unfortunately, Specter joined the 13 Democrats in supporting Ogden. The other five Republicans on the committee voted against Ogden.

Ogden opposes restrictions on abortion and pornography, and has represented Playboy and Penthouse in court. He has filed a brief before the U.S. Supreme Court in support of child pornographer Stephen Knox, who possessed sexually explicit videos of children. Ogden argued that, because the children's genitalia were partially covered by clothing, such exploitation is protected by the First Amendment.

Committee member Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, said that while he usually defers to a president's nominees, he was troubled by Ogden's representation of the pornography industry and other controversial clients, the Legal Times reported.

"Mr. Ogden has consistently taken very liberal positions over a long period of time on issues that are very important to me," Hatch said. "The pattern here is so consistent and the record is so long that it does give me pause."

Tom Minnery, senior vice president of government and public policy at Focus on the Family Action, said that rather than depoliticizing the Justice Department, the new Democratic administration is re-politicizing it.

"They take our breath away the more we learn about these people," Minnery told The Associated Press. "This is Left-wing politicization of the Justice Department. This is not a Justice Department that looks like America."

Four nominees to the Justice Department — including David Ogden — are expected to go before the Senate soon. Please ask your senators to oppose all four nominations.

America has made a serious mistake when it voted for "change". There is no need for "change" but rather repentance. Repent we must! Hopefully, repentance has come. Repentance to God we can believe in.

Obama Reps Come Out Swinging on Abortion at UN

On c-fam.org I found this article exposing the malice behind Obama's goals. I don't share his goals and therefore I want to warn you about them.

(NEW YORK – C-FAM) The annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) meeting continues at the United Nations (UN) this week and delegates have begun the arduous task of negotiating the “outcome document” – a non-binding agreement on HIV/AIDS and care-giving that is the focus of this year’s session. While the meetings have been closed to non-government organizations (NGOs), the United States (US) delegation has openly stated that “sexual and reproductive health and rights” would be a priority issue for the Obama administration.

At a briefing hosted by the United States, a member of the US delegation, Ellen Chesler, stated that it was a specific priority of the US delegation to ensure that “comprehensive sexual and reproductive health and rights” are included in the document. She added that they are a “fundamental part” of the Beijing Platform for Action of the 1995 UN women’s meeting held in Beijing, China, where countries ultimately rejected attempts to make abortion an international “right.” The idea of sexual rights was rejected at the Beijing conference. Additionally, the term “sexual and reproductive health and rights” has been interpreted by radical feminist NGOs and some governments to include abortion.

Chesler, who authored a biography praising the work of Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger, also included “comprehensive sexual education, rights and services,” promotion of a new UN gender office, as well as US commitment to ratify the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW)” as priority issues for the Obama administration at this CSW.

At the end of the briefing, an audience member questioned the Obama administration’s support for abortion despite the myriad scientific evidence which shows how detrimental it is to the lives and health of women. Chesler dismissed the woman’s question stating that the evidence is “unreliable because it has ideological elements.”

Another contentious provision in the draft CSW document calls on states to support the CEDAW committee’s non-binding “concluding comments.” 185 countries have ratified the convention, but language supporting the CEDAW committee’s concluding recommendations remains controversial. The CEDAW committee has questioned more than 70 nations on their abortion laws even going so far as creating their own "general recommendation" that reads abortion into the document even though the nations that negotiated the treaty made sure that controversial issue was never mentioned.

Delegations are expected to battle it out over the CEDAW paragraph in negotiations this week over concerns that the committee is pressuring countries on abortion. Some feminist NGOs at the CSW, however, already consider abortion an accepted part of CEDAW and have now set their sights on using the CEDAW committee to protect “lesbian rights” and same-sex “marriage.”

At an event commemorating 30 years of CEDAW, the Centre for Women’s Global Leadership claimed that CEDAW successfully established a “right to abortion” by linking it to “reproductive health.” Organizers argued that now the CEDAW committee should focus on protecting a “woman’s right to choose their partners,” which is not limited to members of the opposite sex.

The CSW will conclude in New York on Friday.

Change We Can Believe In

I oppose the vain repetition of the mantra of "Change". Constantly we hear these ubiquitous mottos of "Change We Must", "Change We Can", "Bring about real change". What kind of change is Obama talking about?

Is he talking about the change left in the pockets of Americans after numerous bank & insurance bailouts and a record Dow Jones drop of 777 points on the Jewish New Years Day?

Obama is asking us to believe in his version of change as if he is some political messiah ushering in his own kingdom. Who does he think he is?

First of all, I am glad I serve a god who does not change. His attributes and nature remain always the same. See Malachi 3:6, "I am the LORD, I change not." With God there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17.

God warns us of the danger of man-made change in Romans 1. In an age of apostasy and departure from God people will be obsessed with "change". There were people who changed the glory of the uncorruptible God. Then they changed th truth of God into a lie. Thidly, they changed the natural of the sexes and became sodomites. Finally, God gave these poeple up to their own destruction.

What was the problem with the change those people believed in? They did not like to retain God in their knowledge, they had a reprobate mind and they were filled with all unrighteousness.

True change, however, comes from God. God changes people in conversion. It is not a political change. It is an inward change that works itself out.

This change begins when a sinner is born again by trusting Jesus Christ, who died for sinners, so that we might be saved. To be saved means to have forgiveness of sins, to receive a new nature that pleases God, to have the hope of a bodily resurrection and eternal life.

Jesus Christ is asking us to believe on Him. Study John 3:16-36!

The Bible advises us: "Change We Must". Yes, we must repent - have a change of heart and mind. Jesus Christ calls us to repentance in Lk. 13:3, Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

Once you are saved, God wants to change you. Change now means correction, Christian growth, sanctification. You are being changed daily by not conforming to this world, but being transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:2. This means once you are saved it will change your thinking - your opinions, views, standpoint, perspective, etc.

Finally, you will be changed according to 1. Corinthians 15:51-55 when you receive a new glorified resurrection body that will not decay but we be like Christ Jesus.

The only real change I believe in comes throuugh Jesus Christ alone.

Exaggerated free-market greed.

As we look at the financial crisis in the US that started with bad loans issued to people who were not able to repay them, esp. since these loans had unstable variable rates and the value of homes dropped. I still can't understand how banksters, who have a college education, can still be so mathematically and morally corrupt and bank on fair-weather fiction insead of solid facts. It is high time to regulate the markets to protect the people as well as their jobs and savings. For example, the crude oil futures market needs to be regulated so a few greedy speculators cannot recklessly and without regard for the consequences bid up the oil price into astronomical dimensions. Business and political leaders are called upon to study and search the scriptures so they can develop a true business righteousness. The heresy among some evangelicals that the Bible gives a blank check endorsement of laissez-faire capitalism is a self-serving lie stemming from disregard of the word of God. The Bible appreciates the value of work and says that "A labourer is worthy of his reward," and rebukes those who live in pleasure while underpaying their workers (James 5:4,5). That would solve the problem of the "working poor".

First of all, people in the financial markets need to seek the face of God. Are they applying Biblical principles in their activities?

I have studied the reaction of people when they are confronted with Bible verses such as 1. Tim. 6:9,10:
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Many people will shrug these truths off, some will grin and laugh at them, others clainm to believe it, but in deed they deny it. When will we learn that we were not created by God for all this material stuff. We were not created to live in a huge mansion you can't afford. We were created to glorify God and we do that by using earthly things while desiring heavenly things. It is wrong to desire earthly things and (ab)use earthly things to fill those desires.

Many Christians, including those who claim to be saved, born again, have not learned to set their affections on the things above where Christ sitteth at the right hand of God. We indulge in those things that we ought to mortify. Colossians 3 is your homework!

German Finance Minister Peer Steinbrueck deemed the US banking crisis an "earthquake" that will cost the US its role as a superpower of the world financial system. "Wall Street and the world will never again be the way they were before the crisis," said Steinbrueck in a speech to the German parliament, the Bundestag, on Thursday, Sept. 25. Write-downs and write-offs of bad credit spawned by "a blind drive for double-digit profits" have so far totaled $550 billion and no end to the crisis is in sight, he added. The world financial system will consequently become more "multi-polar," he predicted.

The German federal government, meanwhile, would continue efforts to trim spending, but would also make some moves to stimulate the economy. He reiterated Germany's refusal to set up its own bank bail-out scheme, saying the crisis was principally a US problem.

Reiterating Berlin's push for tighter regulation, Steinbrueck accused the US of blunders. "The cause of the crisis was the irresponsible exaggeration of the principle of a free, unrestrained market," he told the Bundestag. Washington has been reluctant to increase minimum equity rules and has too many competing regulators over US investment banks.

"Financial support from the government in mopping up problems in this sector should not be expected," he added. I wished President Bush had the wisdom that Germany's minister Steinbrueck displays. Bush runs America into bankruptcy and did not state where the 700 billion dollars for the bank bailout come from. But that's the first thing I want to know. It was already wrong by Mr. Bush to announce the bailout before Congress had a chance to vote on it. Thus, Bush raised a false expectation and pressured Congress into compliance, or else ...

The problem is that the US has brought fraudulent financial products on the market based on bad loans issued to people with bad credit, and these products were sold all over the world, so that people all over the world are affected by this US-made crisis. It is similar to Hollywood, where immorality is the market. The moral filth in the movies is exported all over the world and people's lives are ruined because they bought into the corrupt morals and vain imaginations displayed in the movies.

Weakness in US Economy

The weakness in the US economy can not only be seen in the big events at Wall Street but I notice there is something fundamentally wrong in the business culture at the the local community level. The following personal experiences make me wonder how people are going to earn a living.

1. I was at a Ford dealership looking at a used Ford Taurus. No salesman waited on me. All of a sudden the intercom at the dealership called all salespeople to a meeting. Several salesmen emerged from a comfy air conditioned office trailer and stomped hastily to the manager's office. I, the potential customer, was left outside. No salesperson was there to assist me. So I left. I was willing to buy. What went wrong here? Too busy to make a sale?

2. I researched a car on carmax.com and noticed that a nice used Buick Century was priced $3000 over what the Kelly Blue Book stated. I enquired. The response was a frenzied phone call by a female with a big mouth justifying what carmax is doing. I told her she did a good job vindicating the carmax institution but a miserable job of selling cars. Do you think I buy a car from such conceited people who think they are always right and you are always wrong?

3. I tried to recharge my Tracfone with new minutes. Usually, they do it automatically, but now the lady on the phone wanted me to punch in an endless number of digits. I told her I had to end the call and go on to work. She said it was not possible to automatically add the minutes and insisted that I had to punch in the numbers she dictates over the phone or else I don't get the minutes for my money. I had to hang up because I had to go to work. An hour later the minutes were added automatically. The lady on the phone was a liar when she told me that I had to punch in the numbers manually. I hate to buy from liars who make things more complicated than they really are.

4. I went to Dunkin Donuts to get me some coffee. I waited for 3 minutes. The ladies working the store all stood outside and talked to each other and ignored the 2 customers waiting inside. The other person and I then left the store. I complained to Dunkin Donuts and they wrote me a letter with an apology with a $5 gift card. I came back to the same store to use the gift card. The lady charged me only half of what the coffe really cost. Then I came back a second the redeem the remaining value of the gift card and then she overcharged. Failure upon failure upon failure. Get your business organized!

5. I bought a very fuel-efficient truck in 2006 with an amazing 29-30 mpg. Now that gas costs over $4 a gallon I am glad I bought this small truck. The maker of this truck, however, is going to disband this model in 2009 and close the unionized plant in St. Paul, MN where the truck is being built. How stupid can you be?

6. If more people were like me, corporations like Wal-Mart, Viacom, Disney, Comcast, Dish Network, Anheuser-Busch would come crumbling down. As a conservative Christian, I don't buy liquor, tobacco, TV services, Hannah Montana, video games, etc. I never watched China's Olympics. All the ads would have been in vain. Video stores and movie theatres would close down. Impure, immoral toy action figures and clothes for children would rot in the warehouses. Immodest clothes such as sleeveless tops, baggy pants, shorts, tanktops, miniskirts would have to be re-worked to sell as dish rags or place mats. The TV advertising markets would crash because nobody is watching this filth. Gossiping talk show hosts would lose their job because they lost their audience. Japanese cars would not sell anymore. Modern Bible versions would not sell anymore. I stick with the old, proven, timeless AV1611 King James Bible. The culture of gluttony would come to an end. One restaurant after another would close because I prefer to eat at home.

A return to Biblical life principles would change the US economy drastically. Consumer demand would shift to different priorities. Instead of wasting our substance with riotous living (like the prodigal son) with wasteful consumer pleasure spending there would be more capital available to invest in overhauling America's aging infrastructure such as dams, roads, bridges, airports etc. Read More »

Weapons of Moral Destruction

George Bush went to Iraq in search of weapons of mass destruction. But he found nothing. Now I am glad that Saddam Hussein is history, but Bush should have been honest and clearly state that all of this war action in Iraq deals solely with US interests - mainly oil. Not Kuwait. Not terrorism. Not weapons of mass destruction.

To me it seems increasingly absurd to go hunting for weapons of mass destruction in foreign countries far away, when the US is full of weaposn of moral destruction everywhere. If I go to a grocery store and am forced to see how other people clothe themselves or rather neglect to properly clothe the nakedness of their body I can tell that there is something wrong with society. When I see how people sit glued in front of a TV set with a child that is only 4 years old and watch divorce shows then I know there are some serious weapons of moral destruction in America.

World Trip Boeing 757

Mr. Obama, you seem to be very concerned about the shape of the environment. You mention issues like climate change and global warming. Now some people tend to exaggeration and think they can save the planet by emitting less gases such as carbon dioxide. Let me tell you it is not our job to save the planet. But that is an expression I have noted in your speeches. Nobody should pride himself to be the savior of the planet. There is only one Savior and His name is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. His job is not to save the planet, but to save souls before this present planet will perish and God will create a new and heaven and a new earth according to the scriptures.

I believe in energy conservation. However, my motive is not to save the planet. I conserve energy from an old-fashioned Christian standpoint of frugality, economy, utility, moderation and simplicity. I conserver energy so I pay less on utility so I can give more to missions or simply focus my money on issues that matter to me. The Bible teaches that waste is wrong. However, Bible-believing Christians know that it is futile to save the planet because the planet is doomed because of sin. Read about the global warming and the climate catastrophe in 2. Peter 3:9-16. This present evil world (Gal. 1:4) is not our hope and is not our home. That's why man must be born again, so he can have hope in the glory that shall be revealed.

But if you believe that carbon dioxide emission harm our planet, then why did you fly around the world in a Boeing 757 just to give speeches in front of foreign people that are not eligible to vote for you anyway? How does that Boeing 757 affect your carbon footprint? Sorry, I hate to use these fad words. Can you tell the American public how many tons of carbon dioxide and other harmful gases that Boeing 757 emitted on that world trip you made? How many gallons of kerosene did that jet burn up? If you become president of the USA, are you going to keep flying in the VC-25 Air Force One - the kerosene-guzzling refurbished Boeing 747-100? That plane is getting up in years and should be replaced by a more "green" jet or what do you think? Why not get real and put an end to the climate hysteria and hypocrisy?

Last year I made a trip to Germany myself. I did not hold a speech in Berlin but I preached in front of a small group of people in a rural village on the issue of "God is not wasteful". My scripture lesson was from Luke 15 where the prodigal son wasted his goods with riotous living. Modern America is guilty of the most wicked forms of riotous living. So many people are spoiled rotten with prosperity and wasteful habits such as buying too many vehicles that are too large, eating out, eating fast food, addicted to entertainment and sports, building megalomaniacal homes, churches and schools, etc. To make matters worse, the average Bible-Belt "Christians" are the worst of all when it comes to addiction to bad social habits. Bible Belt states have the highest divorce, bankruptcy and obesity rates.

Just like the prodigal son wasted his goods until nothing was left, so America is borrowing itself into bankruptcy. The prodigal son came to himself. So I pray that more Americans will come to themselves, arise and go back to the Bible basics. More people need to arise and come to Christ. Overbearing pride keeps many from coming to themselves. I hope true humility will open hearts for God.

One German's scriptural rebuttal of Obama's speech in Berlin.

You are invited to listen to a new episode of Ingo Breuer's conservative Christian podcast. This time we'll refute the fair speech presidential candidate Obama made in Berlin. Let's take our Bibles, expose the flattery and the propaganda for one-world government, economy and religion. That's what Obama tried to promote. Does he aspire to become president of the globalized world or the United States? The overbearing pride of this man is getting ugly. Can't America come up with some better presidential candidates? Obama does not even seem to believe in America. His definition of the United States is that this country is just a stepping stone toward a "more perfect union" which will ultimately be a one-world global tyranny.
