Many of us have lost family members and dear friends who gave of themselves when they chose to fight for this country. Very few will ever know those special moments, dreams, accomplishments and that special spark that forever endeared you to them. Was it newsworthy on the day of their passing? It was to you and for this reason, we have begun to work with AMEN Ministries. Developed and founded by Pastor Saundra L. Washington, this highly respected bereavement and grief ministry has for many years provided spiritual ministry and assistance to those going through this most difficult time. We remember them with cookouts and parades on Veteran's Day and Memorial Day. Many only remember Jesus twice a year also. Christmas and Easter. Here's a unique and outstand opportunity to show the world the man or woman who brought that special something in your life. Here's the link:

Four years ago, while living in the woods as a homeless vet, God brought to me a vision. It was about 3AM and I was in the recovery stages of my third TIA (mini-stroke) which had temporarily paralyzed my entire right side. The vision was to reach out to other homeless veterans. To provide a way to eliminate the homelessness and receive the deliverance and healing to reintegrate back into society as a stable and positive part of the community.
This made absolutely no sense to me. How was I supposed to do all that while lying on the cold wet dirt in the woods with no money, very little food and no real interest in following Jesus or anyone else, for that matter?
At around noon later that day, a pastor from a local church and some of his outreach team were coming through the woods looking for homeless people. They stopped and asked me about coming to church. Yeah, right. The pastor provided me with a small one-man pop-up tent and said "Even if you don't come, please take this to keep you out of the cold." As they stood up to walk away, it felt like something picked me right up off the log I was sitting on. I called him back and asked how I was going to get there and with the clothes I had, would they even want me? It was a Saturday, and the Pastor assured me somebody would be knocking on my tent at 7AM the next morning to make sure I had something to eat, get a hot shower and get my clothes washed. Well, sure enough, the next morning they were there. What's more? When the service was over, I thought I was headed back to my camp in the woods, but I was wrong. He sent a crew back with me to get all my stuff and invited me to stay with him and his family! Deliverance. Though I didn't even know what the word meant back then.
I ended up seeing that healing and deliverance through Pastor Stella V. Ross and Bishop Kenneth A. Savage (Holy Truth Temple of Deliverance. Although I had made my living years ago as a web designer and MS Excel programmer, the strokes (total 3) had left me blank. Bishop Savage provided me with an old computer with an Internet connection. I began to remember a few things and as time went on, and the Lord working on me as I stayed faithful, I began to see how the Lord had worked in my life to complete the vision. I read about Blind Bartimaeus in Mark 10:46-52 and could see how fortunate I really was that I had not let that pastor walk away.
Bishop Savage began Holy Truth Veterans Housing Program with the vision he had received back in 1998. By then, my skills and knowledge were actually beter than what they were when I was at the top of my game many years back! I was given a big part to play and actually designed the website for Holy Truth Veterans Housing Program. Yes, when God gives you a vision, He makes a way for you to see it. It is because of this that "The Jericho Initiative" is now a reality.
"The Jericho Initiative" has taken me almost a year to write. Beyond the shadow of a doubt, when God puts a vision on you, He makes a way for you to see it to reality. But, there's four things you need to do: Praise, prayer, obedience to God's Will and perseverance.
I ask you only to click on the link below and check out "The Jericho Initiative" for yourself.

With Holy Truth VetsTown Variety Store set to have our Grand Opening, it makes sense we provide a special opportunity to Share the Vision with fellow veterans and veteran-friendly individuals and organizations. People just like you! Because, it is for you all of this is being done. Still, it dwarfs in comparison to the incomparable sacrifices made daily by our fighting men and women abroad.
Each one of you have events and projects that desperately need the visibility and recognition in order to be successful. Right now is a prime example with the holidays literally upon us. So that we may develop funding for our Holy Truth Veterans Housing Program and Holy Truth Veterans Back to Work Program, Christian Prosperity institute, Inc. (A major ministry within the entire Veterans Program) is working with Unchained Grace Ministries, LLC which is also veteran owned and operated.
They have a Christmas Present available right now set aside only for fellow Veterans' Organizations and Groups just like yours. For this reason, notification of this blogpost will only go out to Veterans Groups throughout Organizing for America. How to get it? Just simply click on the words Christmas Present.
On 19 NOV 2009, members of the Holy Truth Veterans Housing Program attended an extremely important meeting held at the brand new Vets Center located in Washington, DC. The meeting consisted of panelists from key Veteran's organizations and others who were able to provide tremendous insight into the release of funds to organizations as well as veterans seeking entrepreneurial opportunities.
This may represent a key turnaround in the attitudes towards assisting veterans through training, education and opportunities to obtain funding for their own businesses.
To this end, we made serious inroads and developed positive contacts which we are already working with a view towards getting funds released for our Holy Truth Veterans Back to Work Program. With the Grand Opening of the Holy Truth VetsTown Variety Store only scant weeks away, we are already making plans to open up to five more within Baltimore City and beyond. The initial store will employ 10-15 veterans who were previously homeless. The subsequent five more stores shall employ up to 75 veterans! Those who needed a second chance. All VetsTown operations are veteran owned and operated. For more information, contact me directly at jpeterson@holytruthveteranshousingprogram.com
With Holy Truth VetsTown Carpet Cleaning and VetsTown Home Improvement on the way, the possibilities for entrepreneurial objectives are now realistic for many who know they really do deserve that second chance. Our American Military veterans.

Holy Truth Veterans Housing Program is focused specifically on providing homes and outstanding opportunities for our veterans. It is quite clear that while each and every veteran was provided the tools to be successful in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and many other locations they were not and have not been provided those opportunities or tools to be successful once stateside.
To this end, Holy Truth Veterans Housing Program has been THE pioneer in providing a multitude of services to veterans in addition to a new program which is where we need you to share the vision of complete restoration of the entire veteran's feeling of positive self image and self worth in addition to becoming once again a positive part of their family and community. Those who sent them did not follow through. As stated by President Obama, our work is NOT finished until there are no more homeless veterans sleeping on the streets of our nation.
Between 01-15 DEC 2009, Holy Truth VetsTown Variety Store will be open. In an unprecedented move, this is veteran owned and operated! Following that will be VetsTown Carpet Cleaning and Upholstery and VetsTown Home Improvement.
By now, it is clear Holy Truth Veterans Housing Program has in fact done and is doing what this government and the VA should have done. However, conscience indicates it is the right thing to do.
It is now time for all of those who have a stated interest in Veterans Rights to get behind what we are doing as we will need support to ensure a solid success for our veterans. We can discuss the issues and problems all day, but unless somebody is actually doing something positive, it is all moot.
Holy Truth Veterans Housing Program is asking you, therefore, to do two things:

1.8 million individuals have fought within Iraq and Afghanistan and with the current status, many wil come home to loving families while others will not. Substance Abuse, domestic issues, suicide, unemployment and physical impairments are among many of the issues many others will face. We need your help. Right now, we have three homes open and fully operational for our veterans and it is quite clear we will need more. We need to count on our own.
The history and culture of Baltimore can be traced back to the Revolutionary War. There are few cities that can aspire to the richness in many areas that Baltimore can. Unfortunately, there's a storm on the horizon. Holy Truth 2009 Community Alliance Crusade came as a result of over 10 years of outreach, street ministry and homeless and crisis intervention. Holy Truth Temple of Temple of Deliverance, overseen by Bishop Kenneth A. Savage, has operated on the vision of full circle deliverance and so the approach to this issue was clear. Here are the current facts:
BALTIMORE STATISTICS
Holy Truth 2009 Community Alliance Crusade has recently begun to work with Teen Challenge of Baltimore. Teen Challenge is nationally recognized as being the "Faith-Based Solution For The Drug Epidemic." With more than 50,000 success stories having graduated, Teen Challenge was founded by the Rev. David Wilkerson. The renowned author of "The Cross and the Switchblade", he pioneered hardcore street outreach by going deep into New York City's toughest most violent street gangs and leading untold numbers to Jesus and away from drugs and the violence that went with it. One of his most famous graduates was Nicky Cruz. A gangleader who termed himself a hopeless animal. Today, Nicky operates Nicky Cruz Ministries and carries on the same outreach and crisis intervention through Jesus.
So, why Teen Challenge?
TEEN CHALLENGE STATISTICS
Clearly a major difference between the efforts of a secular approach and a strong faith-based program that works! This is why Holy Truth Temple of Deliverance is proud to be working with Teen Challenge of Baltimore.
