Why support Barack Obama?
I'm sure that many are asking this question, but the bottom line is this, Barack Obama is simply just an amazing person.
Just two days ago, it was reported that Barack Obama raised at least $32.5 million in the second quarter of 2007. That's the most money that any Democratic nominee has raised in a a president campaign, and it was this lone man from Chicago Illinois who conquered this feat.
This shows that Barack is getting nothing but love and support by the masses.
If you ever get a chance to meet this guy, or to even capture his appearance, you will discover this his mind is drawing, his energy is capturing as is the energy from the people that surround him.
So America. You say you want a change?
Well, this is your opportunity and the moment for you to stand for freedom, stand for change, and stand for a country that is unlike any other country in the world.
Support.
Hip Hop Barack Obama - 2007
The last time I decided to participate in such a campaign that totally had my heart, was when Bill Clinton first ran for the presidency back in the early 90's. Following that support and seeing my own efforts materialize, Bill Clinton became the 42nd President of the United States back in 1993.
Back then, I knew it was something about this lone man from Arkansas that somehow galvanized our nation, but I didn't want to wait to find out, only to jump along knowing within my heart that this was the guy.
I knew it was something about him, and back then I was still listening to hip-hop by some of the most notable hip-hop artists at that time (i.e. Public Enemy, KRS-One, Rakim, Statsasonic and the likes). But back then, I was also concerned with America and the direction of our nation and the path that we seemed to be embarking on.
So here we are again in full circle, but this time the dynamics have changed.
No longer can we look at things from a color perspective, but more so from an enlightened perspective that allows us to do what is right for us a people beyond our own trained and dictated values and religious beliefs based on color, creed, nationality or gender.
So yes, we as a hip hop media entity has decided to embark on this journey and we look forward to hearing your thoughts, your opinion, and your views from a hip hop point of view and/or beyond.
Indeed life is GREAT!
