Please do not turn the MyBO network over to the DNC! For the FIRST TIME ever in my many baby boomer years, I was inspired to donate thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours to a candidate for public office. It's Barack Obama who inspired me, not the DNC. Now I want to continue working to implement Obama's agenda, not that of the DNC.
This grassroots network was built for one person not all the people in the same political party. It grew up for one person to bring about the change we could believe in, the change we need. For this supporter, it will wither and die if it loses its leader and hence, its direction.
I am so deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Barack's grandmother. I can only imagine the sadness felt by the Obama family and extend my heartfelt condolences to all.
May a victory tomorrow help to ease the pain of this loss. Let's include a tribute to Ms. Dunham in our GOTV efforts.
Making calls using Neighbor to Neighbor is so easy. I've made hundreds of calls at phonebanking locations but this is so much easier. All the information you need is right there on the screen and it is easier to record results than wiriting them.
I hope more people learn about this and how to use it to GOTV for Barack!
I just watched the infomercial. As I have been so often throughout this campaign, I was moved to tears. Every time I see and hear Obama, when I watch him interact with others especially his family, I am reminded why I have supported him, worked for him and hope and pray he is our next president.
From now until next Tuesday, what matters is GOTV!!!
The Westminster, CO office (Denver suburb) where I'm working needs volunteers to GOTV from Nov. 1-4. This is part of Jefferson County, a crucial one for Barack. If you possibly can, please try to spend some time. Call Tim at 1-720-304-5128 or Erich at 1-720-938-6792.
Thanks!
This morning when I heard Colin Powell's endorsement, there was fleeting moment when I thought, why are we going to campaign in Colorado because Barack is going to win? That thought went as quickly as it came because I realized, as Barack has said, that this election is still very close and we relax at our peril.
This week I will be going to Golden, CO with two friends. Meeting us will be cousins from Texas. We will spend a week doing whatever the campaign needs us to do to convince voters that the only choice in this election is Obama. I look forward to being a foot soldier in this battleground state!
Accept that if a voter likes Palin, there is no rational argument that can be made to him/her.
Accept that Republicans play dirty and will continue to play dirty as long as they think they can win.
Accept that only those of us who are rational know that this election is about issues. Then, accept that most people don't seem to care about issues.
Like a typical Democrat, I am frustrated and angry about the Repubs winning strategy and the fact that most people do not care if what they hear are lies. They react with their guts and not their minds. I don't know how you counter that but there has to be someone on our side who knows!!!
As the days pass and the election gets closer, our efforts take on more urgency. We must be relentless in our efforts to win the White House for Barack. Let's focus on battleground states and do all we can to put them in the Obama column. YES WE CAN!
Looks like McCain has upset even Republicans in CO by saying that the 1922 water compact should be renegotiated to give more water to California, Nevada and Arizona. Water is a very sensitive issue in Colorado. Colorado is a battleground state and we must work relentlessly to get this one for Barack. If anything, this water issue is likely to cause mistrust of McCain in Colorado and thus work in Barack's favor. Check out a discussion of this issue on dailykos.
So Hillary gets her name put into nomination. Even though the majority of those who voted for her support Barack now. It seems to me that she and a small group of die-hard supporters have won the day. It's ok with me as long those people support Barack in Novemberand because I trust the judgment of his campaign in allowing this. But this just further convinces me that Barack is the only one with any integrity and strength of character to be president. I never supported HRC and I receive constant validation for that choice. In my mind, the name Clinton will always have negative connotations.
Mike Allen of Politico has a piece that previews the one in The Atlantic of the Clinton campaign memos. Here are some very telling quotes:
"The anger and toxic obsessions overwhelmed even the most reserved Beltway wise men...Her advisors couldn't execute strategy; they routinely attacked and undermined each other, and Clinton never forced a resolution....She never behaved like a chief executive, and her own staff proved to be her Achilles' heel."
This was the antithesis of the Obama campaign which functions with No Drama. I have always believed that Clinton had too many advantages going into the primary race and that she lost because of poor leadership and poor management. To me, it proves that Barack Obama does offer a new kind of politics and leadership for all of us! I am so proud to be a part of this campaign.
