Thank you, President Bush....
...for running us into a third world country.
We are OWNED by CHINA.....at the MERCY of the middle east and Venezuala and either/or BOTH of those entities could demand payment in full. At which time, That dollar that we work so hard for that says, "In God We Trust" will truly make us LIVE up to that motto. Nothing we purchase is OURS. Not the LAND we LIVE on and if the oil stops, we will be plunged into a MAJOR depression. With no way to work, many cities w/o a mass transit systems will suffer after the government opens the federal oil reserve to try to tie us over. (And I betya, THEY will be able to afford to wait us out longer than we will be able to hold out.)
But...the ONLY reason we're NOT challenged at this time; is because of our hellacious arsenal. That's the ONLY reason we're STILL a player in the game. Unfortunately, there may NOT be enough military HERE to operate that arsenal.
In seven years, NO president has EVER accomplished this feat! This is not to mention the countless lives lost, on both sides, the children who've been made orphans; and those who will be permanently disfigured.
I think of you, and John McCain feeling it is our God-given MISSION to spread democracy throughout the world. Under your definition of this, it means WAR. What happened to us minding our own business? Why would we FORCE democracy on a people who aren't asking for it? To ignore customs and disrespect an entire nation does not sound like "freedom." It sounds akin to terrorism.
I've often mused in my own mind HOW on EARTH ONE individual could turn the WORLD upside down? And then I'm allowed to think happy thoughts.
You opened the door WIDE for a candidate like Barack Obama. He felt the pulse of the nation, tapped into it....and gave it HOPE. Thank you again, Mr. President. You are responsible for constructing and contributing on a world-wide scale to: "The Fierce Urgency of Now."
But as Barack states over and over, our "hope is NOT blind optimism." It may get Worse Before it gets better. The residual effect of your eight years. But with building blocks in place, and a democratic congress, skies can be bright again.

One quote by Hillary that really surprised me: "We just can't trust the American people to make those kind of choices..... Government has to make those choices for people.
"You show people what you're willing to fight for when you fight your friends."
"Why do I have to keep proving to people that I am not a liar?" ---By the way...she quoted that one during her 2000 Senate campaign. That was BEFORE Bosnia, Chelsea on 9/11, and all of the other mis-speaks that's happened during THIS campaign.
What shoulda...coulda...woulda....been; had Hillary NOT missed her calling in '04.
Hilliary/Kerry '04? -- They would have had my vote.
For SOME UNKNOWN reason she resisted when so many in her country ASKED for her to stand up! If Only.....
BUT time has passed....That opportunity has arisen for another...and after many asked him, he stood up. This is not deifying him...this is an acknowledgement. Hillary might have been The Woman for her time....if ONLY back in '04 SHE'D recognized, "The Fierce Urgency of Now."
She has come to a slow understanding about many things...(slow understanding about Iraq, slow understanding about NAFTA, slow understanding about honesty/integrity and admitting blunders/lies) and in time, I believe she will also come to a slow understanding about her "season" and her time.
Perhaps in 8 more years her "season" will come again; IF she can change her ideas about politics and how things have "always been." Hopefully, she will have learned much and repaired her image with the many democrats and independents she has offended....or the next generation WILL roll right over her while Bill is reminding her that politics is "a contact sport", telling her once again to "suit up for the game Hill-aaaa-reeee;" while she's searching desperately for her eye.
After all....after Barack, the U.S. NOW requires a Commander In Chief with VISION.
Senator Bayh,
I've always had the utmost respect for you AND the Clinton's. But after watching you re-inforce the lies and mis-speaks, etc, that she has spewed regarding the Bosnia story, Chelsea jogging around the WTC on 9/11, and the many others, I am AMAZED that you can with stiff upper lip and square jaw support a candidate who CLEARLY has an issue with honesty. I always felt you were an individual with integrity. To align yourself so closely with Senator Clinton has been eye-opening to say the least.
Many ARE bitter...YES here in Indiana. And yes, in some cases mothers turn to religion because that's ALL the hope they have while their sons turn to GUNS to create their own hope. (No wonder Indianapolis is a city teetering on chaos in many urban neighborhoods.) You are out of touch. You're not understanding, and then you smile smugly on a stage after you have been Hillary's surrogate to spoon feed us on HOW we SHOULD feel because YOU say so, negating our voices!. This is an extremely disappointing evelation. Is it because you're vying for a V.P. spot?
Can you honestly say you want to deal with eight more years of contortions and word twisting and NOTHING REALLY being accomplished because you INSIST on silencing OUR voices? WE DO EXIST out here, whether you CHOSE to acknowledge us or not. We work in your cities, your towns, your state. You haven't heard us. You've proven that by standing behind people who you KNOW are blatantly telling un-truths.
No one was a greater Bill and Hillary fan in the 90's than I. But when you stand outside, and see things as they REALLY are....they're not so rosey for many of us. Do we love America? YES we do...we still maintain a hope. But "hopeful" is not the politics I have observed you engaging in. It's spiteful, it's twisting of words and it's ugly. We've simply had enough of talking heads and Washington telling us HOW we should feel, and HOW we should respond. Again, this has been extremely disappointing, and I will raise this ONE Voice as much as I can to point this out to voters in Indiana. Your stance has been simply deafening in it's attempts to mute our voices. My voice is one, but I will combine it with MANY in Indiana..and through MANY we will help create a NEW VOICE that listens to all voices; and even though it may not be able to fix everything, it will not silence those of us who desire to be heard.
Politics is gettin REAL STUPID...and the talking heads, along with the Washington establishment ain't helpin it.
Senator (SOON to be PRESIDENT, because you are speaking TRUTH) you were RIGHT ON. Many ARE bitter....and some of us are becoming more bitter by the day....especially as WE see truth being distorted.
SOME are turning to religion...AND..... SOME are turning to GUNS. BECAUSE of bitterness! It's NOT just IN the inner cities...it's also in the rural areas as well. MOTHERS turn to religion because that's ALL they have LEFT to keep them holding on...while OUR SONS turn to guns, to create their OWN HOPE.
THEY are the ones OUT OF TOUCH. These SAME old talking heads who get together and rehash the SAME SELF-SERVING Ideas to the public. They follow Washington's lead! It's amazing to see HOW they all SERVE each OTHER and NOT the people. They've turned into gossip columnist pitting the sides against each other. Let's call a spade a spade.
We are SICK of them negating OUR voices. For the black race, that's been done for 400+ years! For the Native Americans, even LONGER. Talking heads get on television and tell us HOW we SHOULD feel, and then FORCE it down our collective throats UNTIL we regurgitate SOMETHING that honestly in it's extreme is frightening.
They CAN'T take away the experiences of the disenfranchised and the economically challenged by telling us HOW we should feel and then HOW we should react. Be it white, black, hispanic, native american....the talking heads tell us what should be. THEY don't live in OUR neighborhoods. They may drive Through them, but they don't face our day to day struggles and worries. Not because we live beyond our means, we're just trying to get the means to try to meet the obligations!
HOW can the mainstream media, Hillary, Bayh and Nutter Silence MY Voice and MY Experience? Must we demonstrate like those for Tibet w/tape over our mouths?
Thank YOU, AGAIN, Senator Obama, for listening to the disenfranchised who STILL maintain hope that America will OWN up to its creed, and admit it's failures to its people and correct their ways. It will go a LONG way in restoring America's "image."
I'm an "angry" one who STILL maintains HOPE in America that they will let my voice be heard. Speak for me, Senator Obama since main stream america is attempting to silence the one voice that I have. Thank You.
I am so excited! I'm a 50 year old female who for the first time has donated to a presidential campaign.
As a child born in the late '50's, I was an impressionable child who sat off to the side of the living room as the circle of old coal miners sat around the television set and talked on their day off. They talked about how hard the mines were, and things going on in the neighborhood as I continued to occupy myself, playing, while listening to my grand daddy and his friends.
Then all of a sudden there was silence....and the old black men put rough, weather-worn hands to their foreheads....some had tears rolling down their cheeks, others, mouths opened as in shock. At that time, I had no idea what could have drawn such a collective silence from all of the men; and I, like them, turned to the t.v. President Kennedy had just been shot. Someone who made old black men, slap their knees and become hopeful, thinking, 'this just might be our boy'....had just been killed.
That moment....all hope seemed vacumned from an entire room (world as far as I was concerned). It was tangible, I felt it.
That same HOPE was trying to be gutted from this campaign. The events of the past week caused many of us to recoil. Not because the words of Rev. Wright were so ABSOLUTELY wrong....our policies HAVE caused us to be questioned, ostricized, and even hated among some nations. While Rev. Wright is from the old school of struggle....of pushing hard....making one excel....and calling things as he sees them; like my grandfather and those old men circled around that black and white television set.
All some of these warriors have known is struggle, yet....building up a people who had been institutionally told they were "less than". These individuals are not just speaking of injustices, they are witnesses to it, victims of it. It's on the shoulders of some these old warriors that we stand; black, white, brown, men and women. There is no need to denounce and reject an individual who has been so intrumental in building hope, and Senator Obama is a PRODUCT of that hope. As he said, he 'has little pieces of America all in' him!
There's a scripture in the Bible that say's, "Wisdom is justified by her children...." Somewhere along the way, there was a lot of wisdom injected into Senator Obama. That wisdom allows him to hold Rev. Wright's hand as he crosses the bridge of racial injustice into another time with new challenges as well. Not forgetting what's behind him, but placing the possibilities of the future before him, and him being an active voice for change in our communities, in our government, and how we treat one another. That's WHAT Senator Obama brings to this race. Not an issue of race....but the possibility of open dialogue, and understanding....and healing.
Thank You, Senator Obama. HOPE is a beautiful thing! I am a bi-racial child from the 50's. I've been fortunate enough to watch hope unfold again....renewed.
FIRED UP..... 'READT TO GO!
