Phone banking for the NY rally

I just made my 200th call to NYC encouraging New Yorkers to attend Thursday's rally in Washington Square Park. As a CPA turned stay-at-home mom, making calls to strangers is a little out of my comfort zone. However, not only was the process painless, but the people I called were really nice. Even better, I felt like I was contributing to the campaign. With the exception of voting, I've never gotten involved in the political process, but after reading The Audacity of Hope, I felt like I had finally found a candidate worth supporting; someone with the intelligence and the integrity to make the right choices for America. I want to be able to vote for Barack Obama in November 2008 and I'm going to do what I can to make sure that happens -- even if it means having to step out of my comfort zone.
