North Carolina Rep Robin Hayes denied saying that "Liberals hate real Americans." His staffers said the journalists were lying and irresponsible. Until the audio recording came out. Now he says he didn't mean it.
I'm tired of Palin, Bachman, Hayes, and dozens of other surrogates suggesting that they determine who loves this country and where the 'real America' is located.
Help Hayes' opponent, Larry Kissell, fight off yet another reincarnated McCarthy. Turn NC-08 to a deep shade of BLUE!

The GOP strategy with the Palin pick was to divert attention from McCain's record and support of Bush to a more general discussion of values.
It's the Culture Wars, folks. As long as we're talking about Palin and her extreme Christian views, we will be eliciting the fierce defence from the strongholds of GOP territory: the Religious Right. As long as we're talking about Palin, we're setting the stage for a Palin vs Obama discussion that easily plays into racial and religious stereotypes of the 'salt of the earth' types: white, working class, Catholics, evangelicals, etc. (I'm a part of this group, by the way).
GET BACK TO THE ISSUES.
GET BACK ON MCCAIN.
That is the weakness in the GOP ticket - the top of the ticket. That's why Rove's team has us all focusing on the shiny new VP candidate. They're diverting our attention in these precious last days of the election. We cannot let this happen. Not again. Not another four years. Not another eight. Not another day.
Contact your local media. Pressure them to focus on issues. Pressure them to focus on McCain's utter lack of comprehensive plans. Keep the focus on McCain. Keep the focus on the issues.
Our future is too important!
I know that many of us are having a hard time letting bygones be bygones. Now is a time to unite behind our nominee.
Many of us disagreed (sometimes on a visceral level) with Clinton and many of her supporters. Some of those supporters are coming to our site now and promoting her 'requests'.
Let's be civil, honest, and take the high road with our fellow Dems. Give them sometime to heal but be firm in Obama's message of change. Let's "kill them with kindness" and perhaps they'll soon realize that we're not all that bad.

This should be it!
DemConWatch is reporting that they just received a memo from the Obama campaign announcing the switch of 10 Edwards delegates to Obama. The Obama Results Center also shows the new number, but the homepage has not been updated yet!
With at least 15 delegates expected tonight (50% of each state), we're there!!!
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/06/03/carters-obama-endorsement_n_104956.html
It'll be official tonight!
Head on over to DemConWatch to see the list of Super Delegates who have endorsed so far today. As of 11am PST, we have 9 SD's! 32.5 delegates to go!

In addition to the real time endorsement list, DemConWatch has great analysis and tracking of the remaining super delegates and possible scenarios for the next couple of days.
There's been a flurry of activity in the blogosphere. One last push by Clinton supporters to attack Obama on personal and racial terms rather than substance.
A long time Clinton supporter, Larry Johnson, claims to have a tape of Michelle Obama speaking at Trinity United Church.
The 'bombshell' is a supposed rant against "Whitey".
The reality is Michelle speaking against George W Bush. "Why'd he let those people die in New Orleans?" "Why'd he drop so many off of Medicare?" etc...
It boils down to slang. "Why'd he" versus "Whitey".
But this video is supposed to hit in a few hours: 9am EST on June 2.
Here's what we need to be clear on.
If you hear this on the morning news or blogs, respond quickly and politely. This is dirty politics at its worst; and let's fight fire with water.
Update 8:51 EST: Here's the link to the story at No Quarter (Larry Johnson's blog)http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/06/02/michelle-obama-and-louis-farrakhan-take-on-whitey/(Big surprise, no video... just more innuendo)
Update 7:40 PM EST, 6/3/08: Fox News had a guest on that suggested the video would be released tomorrow morning.http://www.redlasso.com/ClipPlayer.aspx?id=4129e9d3-586a-45dd-aeb9-294b819b7afa
We have heard so much about using the popular vote to determine the nominee. We've also heard the caucuses shouldn't be used, that big states should matter more, that one vote one voice should remain supreme.
If that was the case, why haven't we been using the popular vote since our nation was founded? Why use electors, delegates, representatives and senators? Those officials don't always conform to my beliefs!
Obama will pickup at least 17 delegates from PR.
Primary Resultshttp://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/state/#PR
Exit Pollhttp://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/epolls/#PRDEM
That's what happens when your opponet panders to PR by offering statehood.
The goal posts have moved to 2118.
Obama is now 64 delegates shy. That's a net loss today of about 23 delegates.
With 86 delegates at stake in PR, MT, and SD, we're looking for around 25 superdelegates to step up to the plate by Tuesday before the polls close. This would ensure that the primary results in MT and SD put Barack over the top.
Here's a great delegate assignment tool that I've found useful over the last few months.

You can see the impact of adding FL & MI, plus see if it takes 800% of 1200% of the PR vote to put Clinton over the top.
This post is a riff off of DemConWatch.blogspot.com. They've done a great job to crunching the numbers for us, and at this time those numbers look awesome for Obama.
You might be asking yourself, what does the recent DNC Lawyer memo mean to getting our party a nominee?
Well, the good folks over at DemConWatch.blogspot.com have crunched the numbers for us and provided five scenarios that could play out on Saturday.
Guess how many of those we've already won?
For those of you who missed Keith Olberman's comments yesterday on Clinton's atrocious gaffe, here's the video link:

The early CNN Exit Polls show Obama winning Oregon with 55.9% of the vote!

Remember the story about the Tortoise and the Hare?
Hillary had everything going for her at the start of this thing. The institutional support, name recognition, money, and the press in her pocket (the MSM has been subtly prepping all us for a Clinton v2 presidency since the 90's).
She squandered her opportunity.
Obama methodically planned his strategy using a well disciplined staff and (initially) frugal spending. He slowly and steadily built up support in the post-Super Tuesday (Feb 5) primary/caucus states while Clinton was buying $2500 Dunkin Donuts breakfasts.
I'm not saying that this makes Obama better than Clinton or vice-versa. I'd just like to point out that in Clinton's first true test as an executive, she failed to capitalize on what she had. Obama, on the other hand, has shown exceptional managerial skill.
He's running a massive cash surplus, she's running over $20 million in debt. Who would you want running your economy?
He laid his campaign strategy out based on all the rules and nuances available at the start of the race. (In the primary, red states and caucus states are just as important as big blue states). She took the system for granted and wants to change some rules in her favor after the fact. Who do you want enforcing our nation's laws?
He's kept a consistent campaign message (change). She's changed her message (change, ready on day one, experience, emotional appeal, better qualified, winner of big states, winner of swing states, winner of popular vote if you include MI and FL, more electable, etc), her home state, and even her favorite baseball team depending on the contest at hand. Who do you want setting national policy?
He's kept a relatively controlled campaign staff that also happen to be in good spirits. Her staff has had major top level shake-ups on several occasions and there are three different factions are vying for control within her group (loyal to Bill, and those from her staff while first lady and senate). Who do you want selecting our nation's cabinet?
You know what? It's just fun to say "PRESIDENT OBAMA!".
Try it. You'll like it too.
OBAMA wins big in NC. Double digits are expected. If Indiana holds to around 5%, this should be it!!!
See the exit polls:http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/epolls/#NCDEM
Exit poll results:Obama 54.9%Clinton 41.1%no preference: 4%
Is that a 14pt win I smell?
