George Cook of www.letstalkhonestly.com discusses how it upsets him that many talking heads and so called pundits often do not refer to President Obama as President Obama. Watch the 3 minute commentary by using the link below:

Check out my 3 minute commenatry on the healthcare debate. Don't forget the uninsured
I am very saddened by the selfish tone of the healthcare debate. More people seemed worried about theorectically loosing what they have than with the reality that many don't have any insurance at all. What do you think?

First in the interest of full disclosure I must let you know that I personally support Barack Obama on this and my daughter will be in school to see the speech. I hope others read up and not "listen up" before making any decisions on sending their child to school on Sept 8.
To gain some perspective we all must first know that in 1988 Ronald Reagan did the same thing as did President Bush 9 ( 41 ) in 1991. They both delivered a message of staying in school and doing your best much like President Obama will. There is nothing wrong with that message no matter what your political perspective
President Reagan even managed to slip in some information about tax cuts to the nations students who can't even vote.
While there were some grumblings from the left there was nothing like what is going on now. Have we become so partisan that the President of the United States can't address students about staying in school?
Now President Obama will be giving a 15-20 minute speech to school students on Sept 8. The speech is abut setting goals and doing well in school. For some that is a problem. They are claiming that the lesson plans which have been revised are the issue.
These SUGGESTED lesson plans for teachers and students were provided for lessons after the speech. Now many on the right are rising up and saying that this is some type of indoctrination or brainwashing of America's students. Some are saying that this is an introduction to President Obama's "Socialist Agenda". Some talking heads are even suggesting that parents keep their kids at home on Sept. 8.
While that is a parents choice I believe it should be made on actual information devoid of political idealogy and not the far rights hatred of President Obama or liberals. Don't late talk radio make this decision for you. Use the links below to read the actual lesson plans and then decide whether or not you want to send your kids to school on Sept 8.

This weeks show topic, Barbershop Politics: Why blacks support Barack Obama.
This week I am posting a video show instead of audio one . I think the barber shop is a great place to solicit open minded opinions and I got some great sound bites. especially the last person to speak to me about voting for Obama. I think you guys will love this. You can watch the video here:
Hi guys I just wanted to let everyone what I was doing in my town to help get others registered to vote. This is a big issue for me as 8 million African Americans are not registered to vote and those 8 million could make the difference in a close election.
Local activist organizes voter drive in Hillside Cook: 'Many people are motivated' this year
Friday, September 19, 2008 BY JASON JETT Star-Ledger Staff
George Cook of Hillside has a four-year-old website titled "Let's Talk Honestly." In his politically charged town, that is a bold invitation.
In addition to promoting contemporary literature and addressing African-American socio-political issues on the site, www.letstalkhonestly.com , Cook has been active in his community. This summer he held a children's poetry contest, and he is a youth basketball coach.
Tomorrow afternoon Cook is coordinating a voter registration drive at the Hillside Public Library, from noon to 2 p.m.
"I've been trying to be active, and with the presidential election coming up I decided to do this," he said.
Cook was unsuccessful in his own attempt at elected office last spring, finishing sixth in a 10-candidate field for the local school board.
"When I ran for the board, less than one percent of the total population decided who gets to make choices for our children," he said. "Maybe we can get more people to vote now.
"Many people are motivated," he added. "A black man or a white woman will be elected president or vice president. It's an historic vote."
Cook said tomorrow's event makes voter registration convenient for residents, noting it is being held on a weekend and at a central location.
"It's for people who need a little push," he added. "It's close to home, so people do not have to drive too far."
The drive coordinator said he simply is responding to a high level of public interest.
"A lot of people are talking about this election," said Cook. "People are talking politics a lot more than usual. You always hear talk about Hillside politics, but now it's national.
"People are talking about the is sues," he added. "Health care. The energy crisis. Drilling off shore. Stuff you normally don't hear about at the barber shop."
Cook stressed people do not have to live in Hillside to complete voter registration forms at tomor row's event.
The deadline to register to be eligible to vote in the November general election is Oct. 14. Anyone who will be 18 or older on Nov. 4 is eligible to register and vote.
The Hillside League of Women Voters is to conduct voter registra tion during the township's 2d An nual Street Fair, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 27 near the municipal park/ pool complex on Central Avenue.
Elsewhere, the Plainfield Alumni Chapter of the Kappa Alpha Phi fraternity is conducting a voter drive 5 to 8:45 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays through Oct. 9 at the Plainfield Public Library.
In that city on Tuesday the local People's Organization for Progress will continue a voter registra tion drive 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Front Street and Park Avenue. Ste ven Hatcher, a leader of the community action group, said it has registered more than 50 people to date by staffing an information table weekly in the city.

CNN's Roland Martin is reprting that the rumor floating around about Jeremiah Wright penning a book are false. Jeremiah Wright's daughter has confirmed that there is no book. Read the short story by clicking the link below:
The National Black Republican Party ( all 4 of them...lol ) have launched a series of attack ads that portray Barack Obama as elitist and the Democratic Party as racist. I have to give the GOP credit for using the few black members of their party to say things that they wouldn't dare say. Watch the ads by clicking the link below:
Fox News which many in the African American Community consider racist has taken it's attacks on Michelle Obama to a whole new level. On a broadcast on 06/11/08 they refereed to Michelle Obama as "Obama Baby Mama". Don't take my word for it look at the picture below on which they use the term in their on air graphic.
So much for fair and balanced. There is no way even the racist leaning Fox producers and host did not know this was wrong. I mean just dead wrong. Maybe a bunch of elitist white producers thought they were being hip or cool but calling Michelle Obama a "baby's mama" is uncalled for. Especially for what is supposed to be a professional news organization.
For those that think it's just a joke or that baby mama is a term of enderament let me define Baby's Mama.
A baby's mama is just some girl that a guy gets pregnant. Just some girl he had sex with. This person is no one he wants to be with or marry. If he had been a thinking with the right head there is no way in hell he would have gotten her pregnant. If a guy would refers to a woman as a baby's mama it shows he does not have much respect for her.
Michelle Obama is a lot more than that. She is far from any damned baby's mama. She could well be the next first lady of the United States and should be treated with the dignity and respect she has earned. She should be given the respect that ANY women should be given regardless of her place in society.
Leave it to Fox News to keep giving traction to those that believe they are anything but fair and balanced. Can anyone name another cable news outlet where this would have been accepatable?
