I really hope the campaign will stand up and get much tougher right now that the McCain camp has resorted to lies and distortions of the truth! We must not let this election get away from us like Carl Rove and Rush Limbaugh did to John Kerry in 2004! It is honorable to be nice and play above board and run a clean election but the cold hard facts is that dirt stains! It is time to expose John McCain as the corrupt politician that he really is! It is time to bring up his past with the Savings and Loan Scandal and how he was not indicted for participation in that because of the judge messing up the jury instructions! It is true that John McCain served his country honorably but he has served himself and taken advantage of his office with the shady real estate deals with Charles Keating. History will show that John McCain can not be trusted. He wasn't one of the famed "Keating Five" for being a nice person!
Sarah Paulin is nothing but a big liar like her running mate John McCain. She is such a phony and I hope that she will be exposed to the American people before we get to vote. She is a big hypocrite. John McCain did pick a good match for him as she is a lot like him. I dread that if she ever became president of this great nation what would happen with her in charge! I live in Wallingford CT which is about 9 times bigger than the tiny Alaskan town that she was "mayor" of. Hardly credentials to try to run this great country. She portrayed herself as a conservative protecting the taxpayers money by "rejecting the bridge" but actually kept the money. She has lied to everybody that her firing of the Alaskan official was not in any way connected to her bad feelings toward her sisters ex-husband! I hope that the investigation in Alaska is completed before the election so the American people can see how she lied!
I just hope that in the next 7 weeks that Americans wake up and take a really good look at these candidates and see that the only real choice for America is the Obama-Biden ticket! Let's get this country back to being a respected nation again! Gary Nilson Wallingford CT
I am glad that Barack Obama is taking his time to select a vice presidential candidate. He should not rush into this very important decision. I personally would not want to see Hillary on the ticket. I did not support her in the primary but would have reluctantly voted for her if she ran against John McCain. Hillary did a lot of damage in her campaign against Obama and even though she was asked by party leaders to refrain from using negative campaign tactics she did it anyways. Unfortunately I know several people that said they could not vote for Obama if Hillary was on the ticket and also I know some of Hillary's supporters that said they would not vote for Obama. John McCain is just an extension of the Bush policies and will continue the present course if he is elected. This country is on a terrible course and it must be changed! I personally think that the primary was really not as close as it seemed after Rush Limbaugh started to tinker with the election process by asking voters in open primaries and independents to "vote for Hillary". Why did he do this? He did this because the Repubican party has lots of ammunition against the Clintons and would have had a tougher time defeating Barack Obama! CNN interviewed many people in the Texas primary that did exactly what Rush asked them to do! The republican nominee was already selected at that time and by using the independent and republican votes to alter the result in the democratic primaries they would have a better chance in November to win. If you subtract those votes from the final results Barack would have won MUCH bigger in several states and would have been much closer to winning in the states that he did not. Because of this I do not think that the final count truly represents what the voters did. I think it is disgusting that Rush Limbaugh interfered with the integrity of the election process although it was legal. I think that this would be a good argument against having open primaries in any state! I can only hope that Hillary's supporters will come aboard to help defeat John McCain in November. I think that having Hillary on the ticket as a VP would be more of a liability than an asset but that is only my opinion!
I was notified on April 30th that the plant I have worked in for 14 years is closing. I have 4 working days left to work. I will be joining the thousands of workers who's jobs have been lost because of the Bush economic policies that are not working! Gary Nilson Wallingford CT
