My first real blog. I am new to this but hopefully it will be a good outlet for all of the thoughts that swirl through my head during the day. First, this has been one of the best experiences of my life. I joined the campaign at the beginning of the summer and never expected it to become what it has in my life. In fact, I remember thinking to myself…if not me..WHO will do it? I have been so sick of the news, the lies, and the state of the world and have felt totally powerless. However, now I have found an incredible tool to get our voices heard and that is action. By getting involved and encouraging my community to get involved I have regained my power. If we don’t take action who will? Never did I imagine that my initial step of action would lead to having dinner with Barack Obama but it did. And that in itself says it all…When we put our hearts into action…magic happens. I have seen the magic of this campaign within myself and others. IT is a powerful force that can change the world.
While all of this was happening my son was also diagnosed with autism. It is pretty easy to turn inward when something like this happens but as a mother it is my responsibility to fight for a safe, honest and dignified country. So, this action has been incredibly healing. My suggestion to everyone is to get involved. Get your friends, neighbor, co-workers to check out this incredible movement. It really does work! I would love to hear any suggestion on how to get more involved in the community in order to get the message out there.
