I have been getting an error every time I try to bring up PartyBuilder on the DNC site for 2 days...

Is anyone else having this problem??? I also can't access my dashboard there or my blog... "Friendly Blog".

Just got home from Indianapolis and seeing Barack today.
Thousands in drizzling rain. Andre Carson, Jill Long-Thompson and Evan
Bayh spoke.
Barack was brilliant and impressive as always..
I was chaparoning for a group of kids from our daughter's charter school
class.
Still brings tears to my eyes and I was not the only one.

Required viewing by ALL people.
It deals with the historic anti-semitism in religion and the importance of the separation of church and state. It examines the Catholic Church and it's failures, as well as the rise of evangelical groups, and their influence on governments past and present.

A real 5* documentary. Sarah Palin should see it, not to mention the rest of the current administration.

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT!

I'm sure we all volunteer but, there is a simple thing we all can do....
WE NEED TO SHOW OUR SUPPORT!

Wear buttons!
Put up YARD SIGNS!
Use BUMPER STICKERS!
(Put them on the outside window, you can take it off with a razor-blade)

I drove to NC from Indiana on vacation and saw 2 McCain bumper stickers and about 10 Obama in 10 days... THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

I wore my button everyday and didn't see ONE other person doing that! THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

The general population needs to see that YOU, normal, good, nice, friendly, people support Barack.... then, when they ask you why, TELL THEM... IN YOUR OWN WORDS. This is as good as knocking on doors....
and you can do it anywhere, anytime. In the grocery, the gas station, the pizza restaurant... Show that you are a PROUD supporter!

OUR DIVERSITY IS AN ASSET, BUT WE HAVE TO SHOW IT!
People need to see that middle aged women support him, that people of all ages, not just the young, support him. Supporters are of all colors and creeds, of all religions and sexual orientations.

It is so simple, and will offer you the opportunity of gaining voters for our cause without saying a word... Just be the nice caring people you are and others will take note.

IT WILL TAKE US ALL TO WIN THIS!
SHOW YOUR SUPPORT!

People will follow a winner... the more support they see the more it will snowball. We can battle media imbalance in this way...

WE HAVE TO WIN THIS...OUR COUNTRY AND OUR CHILDRENS' FUTURE IS AT STAKE.

Happy Birthday, Barack!

My gift is my service.
Until you are elected president, I will do all I can to make it happen.

Why?
I am tired of our economy and our young soldiers bleeding to death.
War=deficit=recession or depression
The Earth cannot take 4 more years of abusive and avoidant environmental policies.
We need to care for our children and elderly in a humane and respectful manner.
The equal opportunity of ALL people and the discrimination of none.
The world community does not need us to police it....
it needs us to lead.. there's a difference.
Greed and Hate are not "family values".
The Golden Rule is my most important "family value".

Because of your campaign, I have hope that these things will change.
WE CAN have a real energy policy which weans us from oil dependence.
WE CAN stop fighting endless wars which fill the pockets of defense contractors.
WE CAN use diplomacy to mend the bridges which have been destroyed during the last 8 years.
WE CAN have clean electricity in 10 years and decrease our carbon emissions.
WE CAN have universal healthcare.
WE CAN save social security.
WE CAN have educational equality for all students, and guarantee equal opportunity for advancement.

THANK-YOU BARACK!!!!!

I would like to thank Senator Obama for the platform meetings which are being conducted this month. We, as a nation, are in his debt already, and he hasn't even been truly nominated.

The opportunity to make my opinions known and have them sent on to the platform committee is an honor which I truly appreciate.

My husband and I went to a lovely meeting at the home of an active supporter last night. The company was stellar. Very active, knowledgeable, and concerned citizens.
After we introduced ourselves and announced our topic of concern... most of us had many... Someone asked that the "Bill of Rights" be read. One of the attenders had it on his laptop.
The depth of the attacks on our Constitution and Civil Rights was brought to the forefront and the gravity of our work was felt by all.

It was one of the most profoundly important and amazingly empowering things I have done in my life.... I left feeling as though I had truly had my say.
Topics were brilliant... full of depth and thought.
Peace and Diplomacy
Sustainable Environmental Policy
Truth and Reconciliation
Human Rights
Constitutional Abuses
International Relations

To me the platform is very important.
I know people say they "vote for the person".
I vote person in the primary, if there is a choice, and the party in the GE.
In the past when we had reasonable media coverage, or knew, or had knowledge, personally, of the candidate... voting for a "good person" was fine.
Now, we have the problem of multiple local television news stations being owned by the same companies. Local papers are gone, absorbed by large corporations, little local news or politics. I don't know my school board....
Thank goodness for the internet, without it we would know little about the actions of our government. (Unless you have cable/sattelite.)
IMHO, even if the candidate is a good person.. know where they stand on the issues... Nice, honest people can have different views on issues. I want someone who closely aligns with my view.
This does not mean I will not vote for one who does not agree with me on everything... I have, many times. I want to know why they differ... I could be wrong. The "best" to me, is the "best" for me.
That is why I'm a democrat... That is why I vote straight ticket. Without the strength of numbers, nothing gets done. I welcome bipartisanship, but in it's absence... we need numbers.

Blockades and Occupations!

Iraqi nationalism is making it harder for the administration to keep our troops in Iraq past Dec.'08.

Please urge your senators to require congressional approval for any agreement... We can't hamstring Sen. Obama before he is even sworn in as president... Our senate can't be allowed to leave any more of a mess for Barack.
God knows he will have enough to do.

Thanks to anyone who sent an email.
I read today that some of our representatives are rethinking the sanctions/blockade strategy.

We have a voice... if we use it for good, we help our country and ourselves.

Rush to WAR again?

Is Barack doomed to be a war president?
Bad enough he will be going in with the problem of Iraq and Afghanistan hanging over his head like a chandelier after an earthquake... but now Iran too.
Remember Diplomacy????
Colin Powell, Henry Kissinger, James Baker III, Madeleine Albright, and Warren Christopher have all called for diplomacy.

Barack will use diplomacy.
I want diplomacy. I have taught my children. If you have to fight, it is because you don't have the intelligence to resolve the problem without violence. Civilized people work out their differences. Are we so intellectually stunted that we cannot work around our opposition and thereby avoid the bankruptcy of our country, the death of our young men and decline of our civilization?

More than 200 congressional representatives support a blockade of Iran.
Forgive me... but isn't that how we got Pearl Harbor?

I may be wrong but I thought a blockade by anyone other than the full UN was an act of war..
So.... check with your legislators... are they helping Barack?
Are they helping us??? Are they helping you???? OR are they helping the defense industry?
Barack will need us to keep our representative in line... otherwise he will be playing catch-up his entire presidency.

I saw the REAL Barrack last night!

Last night in Bloomington, Indiana Barrack Obama showed a stadium full of supporters just how much he cares about the american people and his fellow human beings.
A huge crowd of screaming, enthusiastic, supporters filled the Assembly Hall at Indiana University, which is the basketball venue for the school. The crowd was as diverse as the crowd in Terre Haute, but much larger this time. I heard the building holds 17,000 and it was nearly capacity.
Barrack's speech was much the same as in Terre Haute.
The loudest response was to ending the war, no surprise.
2nd, was making college more affordable.
He talked about lowering taxes for the middle and lower classes and ending taxes for the elderly under $50,000 a year. Rolling back the Bush tax breaks for the wealthy and giving tax breaks onlyn to companies who are engaged in investing in America.
He took the high road. Said his campaign was not perfect, that they had fallen into criticizing his opponent, but that the Democratic Party was at it's best when it held to it's values and that what separates he and Hillary is nothing compared to what separates them from McCain. He declared that no matter who wins the nomination, we should not worry about the strength of the party going into the GE.
That not matter what happened, their would be change because G.W. Bush's name will not be on the ballot.
He talked about working for the American people, that it was patriotism to him. That no where else in the world could he and Michelle rise to the possibility of residing in the White House. Now anyone can say that. It's like kissing babies, every politician does it.
It was his actions that caused me to choke up.

Someone on the floor nearly fainted.
He stopped speaking in mid sentence... asked if someone was faint.
Someone in the crowd said the person needed water.
He said, "I have water" as he threw a bottle, "but I need paramedics to check this person." He waved to the EMT's to respond. He waited to see that whoever it was, received aid and then resumed his speech.
HE responded immediately to the needs of another. There were aides everywhere, security people, all he had to do was point, but he didn't.
HE stopped, HE assisted. HE took charge of the situation and responded calmly, and with authority.
I know that kind of dedication, I have seen it in the EMT's, Paramedics, Fire and Police people I have worked with over the years. It is an instinct, a reaction which is not given a conscious thought.
It comes from truly caring............. Putting the public first.
Not everyone does it, not everyone can do it.
This man is the real deal. He is a true public servant. He cares.

That is the kind of civil servant I want, and we need, in the White House.
His actions are worth a thousand words.

I live in the rural midwest.

I live in rural Indiana. I have read nothing and heard nothing that Sen. Obama said that was not true.
I was in a gym in Terre Haute, and heard him speak about this, there were no boos from the crowd. These were working class folks. The crowd agreed with him, we are all bitter.
Why shouldn't we be. We have been lied to for 7 years. Our children are dying in foreign wars. Our jobs are gone and our bills are up.
Many people here do cling to one or two things which override all others and fog the big picture. Loss of faith in elected officials is part of it but how they are portrayed by the media plays a role. We have lots of FOX and religious programing. There are no cable lines. Can't afford satelite.
In my area "family values"and "war on terror" are used.
Tee-shirts saying "My mommy is a woman, my daddy is a man" were passed out during the last election. Fear tactics.
Those gays will destroy marriage. LOL
Those terrorists are going to blow up your school. LOL
People here are working for a living, there are no jobs. If you get part time work , you need at least 2 jobs to pay the bills.
When I say "they", I mean my friends, my family, pretty soon, me. My husband just lost his job of 13 years.
These folks have no time to worry about government. They hear sound bites on the news. If the news spins, they don't have time or energy to sort it out. If they do vote, they vote for what they believe in. "family values" or "war on terror". Never mind it is an empty concept. Never mind that it means different things to different families. Never mind we have had no "terrorists" here.
People here are concentrating on survival. The government is not helping. Role backs in food stamps, red tape and pride keeps people from getting assistance. Forget about heathcare.
They don't have time to worry about it. The baby needs milk, gas is $3.50, and your job is 40 miles away.
I live here.
Rural Indiana is no better off than rural Pennsylvania or Ohio.

If Obama can't even tell the truth without getting slammed, what kind of politician do you want? We had better wake up. The neg. spin is on. It will take all of us to win the GE.
He told the truth, I know because I live here.

Diversity at it's best

I choose to think of us all as human beings. We may differ culturally, but we are the same. We originated in the same region of Africa, from the same original humans. Some of us are pale, some of us have more color. Bottom Line is...
WE are ALL human beings.
This morning I went to stand in line for tickets to hear Sen. Obama speak. I'd say, there were at least thousand people standing in line at 9:00AM.
We got up at 6:00AM and drove nearly an hour, to stand in line for 3 hours.
My husband looked around and said,"McCain is going to get hammered, just look around." There were whites, hispanics, asians, blacks, young, old, men, women. It was beautiful. We were a community. We were united. We were talking to each other. Sharing views, experiences, dreams. There were people who had seen Sen. Clinton speak, and had come to see Sen. Obama as well. Trying to decide, open to the process. It was like an old time rock concert. People were smiling, greeting each other, helping each other. Even though it was a long wait, the time passed quickly.
THIS IS WHY I AM A PROUD DEMOCRAT!!!!!
We will be united, we will be fine. This was not San Francisco, CA or NYC, this was Terre Haute, Indiana.

Thank-you, Senator Obama! I have not felt such great promise in a long time.
There is HOPE and YES WE CAN.

Peace is a powerful word.

Words have tremendous power. A single word can hurt or heal. I am no great writer but, I know what I think, and I believe the more people in a dialog, the better the results.
I usually sign off on my comments with PEACE.
The reason I do this is simple. I want peace. I know you all will read the word and for a moment it is in your mind. During that moment in your mind it is a powerful thought. The more people that think that thought, the more powerful it becomes.
I would like you all to consider how many times someone says to you, "have a nice day". If we replaced that with, "Peace" or "Have a Peaceful day" , how much could we pass that thought around. How many politicians would take notice if suddenly they heard the word everyday, everywhere, all day long? Could we make them notice? It could be the new trend. We could make it so.
With so many people saying the word every day, I believe we could make an impact on the thought processes of many of our leaders.
This, I'm sure sounds very idealistic but, just last week I heard of a man who changed the day of many people by buying an angry man a Starbuck's coffee.
A small act if passed around can grow into powerful good.
Give it a shot...the next time you start to say, "have a nice day" replace it with, "Peace". Sign your emails "Peacefully yours" or "Yours in Peace", or "In hope of Peace".
Maybe we can show Washington how many people want peace before the election.
If it doesn't work in that way, we will still be spreading goodwill, and this is the season to start it.
