This is the best.....

What on EARTH is this woman talking about? CNN just aired Palin's rally live. Amazing. So many twists and turns and distortions, that I can even count them...and they keep hammering away on this guy Joe the Plumber as if he's credible. The crowd seems to love booing each time she mentions Obama and she does nothing to get them to be more civilized. Civilized??? What is that?!
Well- we have less than 48 hrs to election day. So keep up the volunteering! Keep talking to your friends and family! and VOTE!!!!!!
By the way- Obama's about to speak in CIncinatti, OH. I'm looking forward to seeing his comments live on CNN.
I watched Obama's 30 minute Prime Time message.
I've never felt so moved before by anything coming from a politician. He calls upon everyone to tap into their better attributes like common sense, generosity, open mindedness, and consideration for your fellow citizen.
He doesn't prey on people's fears or fire them up based on primal anger. He simply states the situation as it is, tells you how he sees it, and suggests what to do about it. Tonight he connected with the single mom and the retired couple and the man who takes pride in working to support his family.
The point that came through loud and clear was that EVERYONE wants the same things for themselves and their kids. Those goals transcend color, economic status, politics, religion, and educational background. He cut through all that frightening and suspicious nonsense that McCain/Palin have enjoyed stirring up and spreading.
It's time for our society to wake up and actively care about each other, and our system of government, and our planet & the people on it.
So let's work hard right up until we vote and the polls close. (Praying is probably a good idea, too!)
Go 'Bama!!!!!!!
This is so bizarre. Talk about 'foot in mouth disease'! Here's another Palin article. She's now blaming Katie Couric for her poor performance.
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/10/26/palin-annoyed-with-cbs-interviewer/
I was surprised to see this, but then again- it's not that surprising when I think about it. Apparently Palin has her own agenda that has nothing to do with McCain! Check it out:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/25/palin.tension/index.html
Now McCain has a commercial that looks like Obama's recent ones- where he's sitting in a living room with lots of natural light and he's just speaking candidly to the public. I guess imitation truly is the highest form of flattery.
I think that now, more than ever before, the Obama-Biden ticket has to echo Colin Powell's message of unity and diversity and flood their ads with it. It's a good message and it's a positive one. And I think it is what people will listen to above the noise that the McCain-Palin ticket is generating.
'Muslim', 'Socialist', 'Terrorist'....this is what the Republican machine has to work with? Just stirring the pot of suspicion and narrow mindedness?
Colin Powell's endorsement came at a good time and the theme of his comments have to be placed in Obama's ads from here on. It is the best and most logical answer to the nonsense that's flying around.
Of course, McCain-Palin will eventually copycat taking the high road, as usual, but I think most people will be able to see through that.
With so few days left in this election, it's important to hammer away at the positive and uplifting points that Colin Powell made.
The BBC has an interesting article about the attacks on Obama:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/us_elections_2008/7671464.stm
First of all, Obama has class. He's a gentleman. He doesn't act bitter or full of contempt. He doesn't act as if he's about to implode.
McCain just looks bitter, angry, nasty and condescending. He blinked excessively, shifted his weight numerous times, gulped a lot, seemed uncomfortable in his suit, his eyes kept darting around, he kept turning red, he did the lizard tongue thing, his lips looked WAY too pink...perhaps it was lipstick, and he kept hemming and hawing.
And I thought he had another "That One" moment when he gestured quotation marks with his hands around the words "the health of the mother", when commenting on abortion and Obama bringing up the 'health of the mother'. McCain just seemed to be trivializing that very important point.
Also- McCain kept insisting that he get an apology over the comparisons to the days of segregation. He just wouldn't let it go.
Once again, I was proud of Obama for maintaining his composure and defending himself whenever possible. He also did a good thing by MOVING ON to the issues at hand.
Hang in there, people. My guess is that the rumors will get worse and more elaborate as we get closer to Election Day.
I was forwarded a video recently. A lawyer in Philadelphia, a self proclaimed lifelong Democrat, is filing a suit to remove Obama from the ballot. He insists that Barack cannot prove his citizenship and is hiding behind technicalities. He says that even if Obama was born in Hawaii, then he lost his citizenship when he entered school in Indonesia. (Since when could a young kid do this? Don't you have to be an adult and go through the formality of renouncing your citizenship???) He says Barack won't release any records: academic, medical, or otherwise.
I'd love to hear from a lawyer who actually DEALS with citizenship and immigration law; Someone without an agenda who can put this to rest once and for all. This guy on YouTube never stated his specialty in law.
I've also noticed a few troll e-mails ranting and raving about socialism and marxism and how they feel Obama fits that. Umm.....Palin's and Cheney's desire to give the VP position more power within the constitution sound fascist to me. Firing anyone who does not agree with you sounds fascist to me. Pulling voter suppression stunts and torquing up the angry mob sounds fascist to me.
Many of these e-mails and YouTube videos assert that Obama supporters are blind and foolish.
All I know is that McCain is lagging behind in the polls, racism exists, suspicion of other cultures exists, and the Republican machine will stop at nothing.
Go 'Bama.
Wow...there are people who actually believe that Barack is a Muslim. Muslim=terrorist. Can't trust him!
I don't how people can try to connect dots this way.
And now that the angry mob mentality is being verbalized- outright- and directly to McCain at his rallies...he can't say enough to control it! Doesn't he understand that his campaign...his supporters...he and his running mate have already helped to rile these people up?
I'm glad that McCain corrected that woman in public and defended Obama...but what about the nasty campaign he's been running all this time? He uses negative, fear mongering, language. He had to have known about these smears and rumors flying around. Who is he kidding?
Obama did great. He didn't back down. He stayed in control and he got his points across. He was more aggressive when it came to defending himself and mentioning McCain's contradictions. Great job!!!!!!!!!!
Let Round 3 be the final knock-out punch!
Go 'Bama!!!
"LLLLLLets get readyyyyyy to rumblllllllllllllle!"
ding, ding, ding!
Here's what I think Obama has to accomplish in Round 2:
#1- continue to be himself, which means he's a gentleman and a leader. Just remember that "It takes more than combat gear to make a man...takes more than a license for a gun...confront your enemies, avoid them when you can. A gentleman will walk, but never run." -Sting's lyrics in 'An Englishman in New York'.
#2- Sock it to McCain and make him eat his words. Be clear about Ayers. Remind him that Rev. Wright is not running for office, and neither is Ayers. Remind him of THE KEATING FIVE!!!! Remind him of Palin's cronies and their 'pray the gay away' theory. Remind McCain of his comments about Asians and the racial epithet ("gooks") he used for them. Remind him that community organizing is not something to be laughed at.
#3- Keep hammering away at the issues: the economy. the middle class. terrorism...and America's role in the world. Just keep hammering away at him. Hammer the issues until McCain flips out. Just hammer 'em!
The town hall format is perfect for this and McCain does not hold the patent on it, no matter what anyone says. He can get 'told off' like anyone else. The McCain/Palin ticket is desperately slinging mud all over the place. Obama is now widening his lead in the polls. It's Obama's time to shine!
Where's the Rocky theme when we need it? Hold on......Here it is! Enjoy!

I was so proud of Joe tonight. He was effective. He was a gentleman. And he was great at defending Obama. He fired back at the attacks and he kicked butt especially on Foreign Affairs. He spoke directly to the middle class without getting "folksy" as the commentators say Palin did.
His comments on legal and financial rights for gay couples were good. He supported them up front and without hesitation. The actual marriage issue is another story but I think he was more graceful about it than Palin was.
He wasn't afraid to emote....and it was real.
His appreciation for all kinds of people went beyond just "tolerance". His interest in civil rights for all was genuine.
To all the trolls who are using the Rev. Wright hooplah to justify their hatred for Obama:
Rev. Wright is not running for president.
I doubt that Obama appreciated this guy's comments.
So forget the Rev. Wright thing and move on with your life.
Thank you.
It's unbelievable how many groups swear up and down that God is on their side. I'm sure God is ticked off to hear about how many people misquote him, misrepresent him, and use his name in vain by attaching THEIR ridiculous notions to him. "Forgive them, Lord. For they know not what they do."
I want to make sure I understand the end summary of the psychotic ramblings I've been seeing.
Let me get this straight:
The people ("trolls") who have been posting here lately, spewing all sorts of things that go beyond smears, seem to have a lot in common and seem to share a common vision for our country:
-A completely 'Christian' society that makes literal interpretations of the bible and practices intolerance, bigotry, and hate.
-A society where it doesn't matter if you were raped or molested or your might die....you'll have as many babies as the lord allows and you will like it!
-A society that is willing to pick fights with, and blow up, any country that disagrees with us in any way.
-A society that places one group as superior to the others and persecutes anyone whom they feel is inferior.
-A society where everyone who is superior totes a gun..and not just any gun..a semi-automatic! Ya never know when a rowdy goose might be hard to bring down!
-A society that sees themselves as the ones with God on their side.
Wow- What a nightmarish vision!!! This type of thinking is no different than the terrorists organizations. And if you look throughout history, you will find that type of approach has resulted in wars, bloodshed, oppression, and total disaster....all over the world, no matter where you look in history. I can't think of anything more UN-Christian or more totalitarian. Neo-Cons have no business accusing Democrats of being socialist. This takes the cake.
This election has brought to the surface all of the people who have varying degrees of racism and bigotry bubbling beneath the surface. If anyone doubted it, or had a false sense of security, here is the wake up call. There are TONS of people out there who are narrow minded and misguided. Now we know who they are.
We need to recognize that we have terrorism, and have had it, right in the US. They're known as racists, supremacists, anti-government groups holed up in the wilderness with arsenals, and violent criminals with no remorse. It doesn't matter what color they are or what their point is. It all manifests itself in violence and a victim mentality: 'poor me'. 'The world is against me.' It's always this one's fault or that one's fault. NONE of them take responsibility for their actions or what brought them to where to where they are. Examples of it are in the news all the time. There's no difference between a hate group, or a band of ANY religious extremists and band of suicide bombers, as far as I'm concerned. They've all been brainwashed.
We have to confront this problem as a nation and make sure it doesn't take over.
I can't believe that Nancy Pelosi's speech offended so many Republicans that they had to refuse to vote for the rescue plan/bailout. Several Democrats voted against it. But the numbers don't lie: the Republicans revolted in droves.
I was actually glad to see and hear the Democratic leadership actually SAY who was interfering, and who was making things difficult. Pelosi and others have been very bold about saying that all week! This isn't news.
I think they were shocked that a Democrat actually had the spine to call them out for who and what they are- ultra conservative right wing ideology extremists. Period. The republicans have gone beyond spin. They've gone into a total tailspin....spiraling out of control, rushing toward the ground in flames. They don't want to admit that their own party has erupted into a kind of civil war. They couldn't just vote on the bill and take up their argument with her later?? Please.....
So they got exposed on national tv.
Now they're up in arms??? What a shame.
Here's the latest Katie Couric interview- of McCain and Palin together, by the way:
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/09/29/eveningnews/main4487826.shtml
In watching the various news channels- I can see that things aren't going well at all for the Republicans.
It's their own doing as far as I'm concerned.
Let's just hang in there, speak out against the nasty rumors against Obama, VOTE, and volunteer.
Go 'Bama!
And by the way:
