How we can become energy independent in the near future.

Is nuclear energy the future?

Lots of experts believe that nuclear energy will solve our future energy crisis, but is that really true? Nuclear energy has by far the safest record out of all the major energy sources, it emits zero greenhouse gases and its fuel (uranium) is fairly cheap to buy and reactors do not need large amounts of it. But remember, nuclear reactors produce radioactive waste and again, just like fossil fuels, it runs on a finite source, uranium. So we can use nuclear reactors to achieve our energy independence but once we do, we must put lots of money into other energy sources that run on a logically infinite energy source, for example solar power.

The coming energy crisis

Currently we are using fossil fuels as our main energy source. If we continue with this way of life then we will run out of them (or prices will get too high) in the near future therefore leaving many of us without electricity or fuel to power our cars.
