The past few days have proven to be quite invigorating for me personally. I've been out talking people in my area and so far have gotten a republican, a non-voter and a democrat to register to vote and ready to caucus on February 5th in Kansas for Barack Obama. The sentiment I seem to here is one of change and hope, which this campaign is driven towards. The people I've crossed paths with all want big business out of DC and the working man/woman to have a voice once again. The believe Barack is the man to bring about that change with the help of the nation. From disabled to working men and women nation wide Barack is seen as a glimpse of hope with a whole lot of reality :) I hope that I can continue to show people the Blueprint for Change all over my area and get the best turn out to the Caucus that anyone has ever seen before.

I just read my previous blog post to the fella I wrote about, I am at their home and he left with tears in his eyes...just a little dust or something I guess.
The fact is, there are many men and women in this country that are being moved by this campaign and it's truthfulness.
This southern redneck came to realize after listening to Barack speak on many occasions that the plight of a black man in Chicago who was raised by a single mom, or an Asian in California that's not getting the education she needs, or a steel mill worker in Pennsylvania that's job was sent overseas, is also his plight!
I've talked to many people right here in Kansas about voting against their own interest and I hope that I can lead another to the truth. It's up to all of us to be the messengers for this campaign. We must share our stories, even if it's painful, there is always someone out there with similar life paths.
Please take time to write your congressman/woman and let them know, Americans are looking for a new direction, we are organizing in great numbers and that they either start to help us, THE PEOPLE, or we're going to vote them out of office.
Please take time to write your local newspaper editors and share your views on the direction this country should be taking. An agenda that is FOR THE PEOPLE, and not for corporations that rob us of our dignity and self worth.
Please take time to get involved in local events and show pride in your country by not just talking about helping others, but by doing it. Action speaks louder then words!
Please take time to READ to your children, learn about your school system and who is in charge, and if you disagree with something, attend the next PTA Meeting and voice your opinion.
Please take time to SHARE with your friends and neighbors, because they of all people know you and know what you've been through, and they of all people will listen to you, even if they don't agree, plant the seed.
Remember what Barack says "I am my brother's keeper and I am my sisters keeper!"
United we STAND, divided we FALL!
We must come together as a nation, it's imperative for future generations. All for one and one for all!

My friends husband used the N word, much to his wifes dismay, but it was always part of his vocabulary and he was a self proclaimed racist.
Not just against blacks, but anyone that was not just like him, a southern redneck!
Many occasions his wife would yell at him that she didn't approve of his vulgarity and that in no way shape or form did she want their daughter to grow up with this kind of attitude towards others.
I was always glad that he wasn't registered to vote. He always had a lot to say about what went on in the country, but he never followed politics.
A few years back he got involved in Head Start and started attending political events in Topeka and he did so because he's illiterate and thought he should speak up.
He challenged Governor Graves to start thinking about the kids in Kansas and showing how he cared with more funds and help for teachers, especially for Special Education.
I've always been politically active, and I often bombard their house with my views.
One day he said to me...tell me more about this black man running for President. We all three ended up having a 3 hour long conversation from everything from appropriations, health care, education, FCC and the media, and how campaign finances and lobbyists control our politicians.
After that night I noticed that this man and his wife started watching caucus results and all the candidates speeches and paying close attention to who ran what commercials on what channel and on the next visit he asked me how to register to vote and did so the next day.
He also vowed to never use the N word again and to this day I've never heard him say a derogatory thing against another race :)
His wife caucused for Barack, and now anytime he talks to folks, he tells them "this will be the first time I vote and I'm voting for a black man!"
He doesn't say this to be derogatory, he uses this line to start a conversation with folks who have always known him as a racist.
I can't take credit for this transformation, he did this on his own after listening to the speeches given after the South Carolina primary.
If he can connect with Barack, I'm sure there are many more out there just like him
