The John Hagee who has said things like, Catholicism is a whore and the Hurricane Katrina happened to New Orleans punishing them for their GAY PRIDE PARADE. MCCAIN SOUGHT OUT HIS ENDORSEMENT AND THE ENDORSEMENT OF HIS FOLLOWERS!!!!!It’s seems that the story of the Bi-Partisan McCain who used to call such religious leaders "agents of intolerance" has evolved into a story where John McCain seeks their endorsement.

A story of a John McCain, a Vietnam War Veteran, who was tortured in a political prison and a opponent of Bush’s torture policies throughout the years of its use. But again their is another side to this story, a quite different side, but true nonetheless. A story where the soldiers in Iraq are left behind for 100 YEARS. A story where torture is fine once you get Bush’s endorsement for your presidential candidacy. Where there is no difference between Suni or Shai for they are all targets nonetheless. A story where someone sings "BOMB BOMB BOMB IRAN" in the background of a John Hagy sermon about hastening the Return of Jesus Christ and The Rapture by bombing those whose religious views differ from ours, using the American government and military to do it. This is a story of our future, or the future that might be, a future McCain Presidency.
Like many of you, I have enjoyed the comparisons of Barack Obama to JFK and Lincoln. If Barack Obama is elected and his presidency has as much historical significance as those, I know we would all be very happy with our vote. I was present during the rally at UCLA when Maria Shirver gave her endorsement before Super Tuesday. However, it horrifies me that in both cases those Presidents were assinated in office. I know this subject is not one we as Obama supporters what to hear or talk about but I offer an alternative and I have to say a more parrellel comparison with a simple equation.
FDR=OHB=8 years of Presidency
I offer that Barack Obama is not the next JFK or Lincoln. I believe he can be this century's Franklin Delano Roosevelt. FDR was elected to a divided nation during the Depression where there was an immediate need to answer a housing crisis and growing disparity between the rich and the poor. Barack Obama is running during a time where the US may face a second depression, a housing crisis, and a growing disparity between the rich and the poor. FDR was elected having only been govenor of New York with no foreign affairs experience and no diplomatic presidence, but his correct judgements and his words guided a nation during a time of war and economic instabilty. Barack Obama is a state senator who has admitedly not spent much time in Washington but his correct judgements and his words guide a nation during a time of war and economic instabilty.
Roosevelt said, " we have nothing to fear but fear itself" empowering Americans after the horrible attack on Pearl Harbor to fight the good fight.
Obama said, "we are the ones we've been waiting for" empowering Americans to reinvigorate their own democracy and take back the country we love.
I believe the key linking word in those two quotes is "WE", because great leaders understand without those in the grassroots the forest can never grow.
The similarities don't stop there but after reading this google FDR and see for yourself how the NEW DEAL can evolve into the GREEN DEAL or NEW DEAL PART DEUX or whatever Barack wants to call it. Those that would rather hoard their money and power for themselves are very powerful. Just like when FDR had to take on the savings and loans and abdocate for the people, Barack has shown he would do the same using todays technology to communicate with millions in seconds but seeming to speak to us one at a time. With the leadership of men like Franklin Delano Roosevelt and hopefully soon Barack Obama that WE as a PEOPLE have a champion.
I will acknowledge FDR did things that in the hindsight of our more modern society would be terrible but what president doesn't have to make hard choices, especially in a time of War and Depression. Abraham Lincoln had to pass some terrible laws in regards to the treatment of slaves. Some would argue JFK mishandled the Cuban missile crisis and didn't pass Civil Rights Acts in a timely fashion. Would I even try to defend everything FDR has done? NEVER. HOWEVER FDR's New Deal continues to inspire most of the social service policies Democrats like Barack Obama endorse today. Do the programs need to be modernized and BARACKATIZE? Of course. But ask yourself why Social Security is failing. Is it because of things done in its inception and with its motivation or because of things done in the implementation and its manipulation over the years? It's always very hard to compare historical figures because like most people we do great things and we do terrible things. The reason I would rather compare him to the "good" FDR as oppose to Lincoln or JFK or RFK, is that the three of them were assassinated before they could really do what they intended and FDR was able to live out four terms of Presidency. I hope and pray that Barack's fate is more on line with FDR in that respect.
And wouldn't it be great if Barack could get 4 terms just like FDR :)
Now, I'm not one to throw stones, and I don't want to go to the level the Clinton Campaign has gone, and let me preface this all by saying I have defended the Clintons since i decided to double major in Political Science in 1992 while Bill was getting elected. They inspired me to most of my early political insights. I wrote papers on Clinton policies. I railed against Bill's impeachment and rallied for Hilary's senate race. I even like Chelsea.
However, all of that has been erase by their adoption of the opposite of what they used to preach. They decided to skip throwing stones and just go with throwing the "KITCHEN SINK" With questions of Barack's religion, background, and experience that had no bearing on his qualifications as a candidate. Is it Howard Wolfson or KARL ROVE running their campaign? The only dirt she can dig up on Barack Obama is a legitimate real estate deal, with a dirty developer Tony Rezko in CHICAGO!!! I was born and raised in Chicago. Do you know how hard it is to find a real estate developer that's not dirty. In all seriousness, when Senator Clinton points to Barack Obama SHE IS VETTING HERSELF!!! When all you have is Tony Rezko you have nothing. When her campaign lies about his reiligion and makes outlandish comments about race, you have nothing left in your arsenal. IT'S DONE!!!
